2016 Cleveland Cavaliers offseason

sleeperAlso I'm hearing more and more that the JR deal is in danger of not happening.
Word is JR wants a 4 year, $60M deal and the Cavs want less money and a shorter deal(2 years is what they offered).
The issue here is the luxury tax is going to be obnoxious if the Cavs give him $15M a year. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. -
sportswizuhrd7th team in his 9 year career and non-guaranteed contract for Douglas. He can still get cut if they decide to give the backup PG minutes to McRae, Liggins, and Felder.
-
Benny The JetI'd be willing to put almost any amount of money on JR signing a deal within next 3 weeks. This is almost identical to the Thompson deal last year, where come 3rd week in Oct, both sides will concede a little and get it done

I mean if you are a betting man, you bet on the deal getting done.Benny The Jet;1813657 wrote:I'd be willing to put almost any amount of money on JR signing a deal within next 3 weeks. But it's not 100% like I originally thought. JR isn't worth $15M a year on the open market but he's worth that to the Cavs for a minimum of 2 years. I'd rather give him more money and less years if possible but I'm not the one writing checks. -

I hope we don't have to resort to giving D-league players backup PG minutes.sportswizuhrd;1813629 wrote:7th team in his 9 year career and non-guaranteed contract for Douglas. He can still get cut if they decide to give the backup PG minutes to McRae, Liggins, and Felder.
Douglas is a serviceable vet at a cheap price. I'd rather him backup KI. -
Laley23Last year proved you dont need a back-up PG in the playoffs, cause Delly rode the pine.
Just get to the playoffs. Those D-Leaguers will be fine getting them there and spelling the main contributors minutes during the year. -
Crimson streak
Exactly. That's why I'd like to see felder get decent minutes. We are obviously going to be the top seed in the east it doesn't matter who the back up pg is. Let felder play and get some experience and hopefully he can have an impact in the playoffsLaley23;1813710 wrote:Last year proved you dont need a back-up PG in the playoffs, cause Delly rode the pine.

You must be forgetting that "super-team" in New York?!?Crimson streak;1813724 wrote:Exactly. That's why I'd like to see felder get decent minutes. On a side note, D-Rose may be in some serious trouble with a drug/rape case that's moving forward...so much for that super-team. -

Felder will never be anything in the NBA regardless if he plays 48 minutes a game for the next 10 years. He's a borderline D-league talent; likely a talent that will play overseas once reality settles in.Crimson streak;1813724 wrote:Exactly. That's why I'd like to see felder get decent minutes. I don't want him on the court more than he has to be to buy a few minutes here and there. If he's playing any meaningful playoff minutes, the season is likely over with and Lebron is probably injured or dead. There's a reason a lot of teams passed on Felder; dude is short as fuck and has no business playing in the NBA. Get over it. -

I'm glad you used Super-team in quotes but holy shit D-Rose is straight trash. Let's put it this way, if he was on the Cavs he'd get about the same minutes as the D-league contingent: as near zero as possible.Benny The Jet;1813725 wrote:You must be forgetting that "super-team" in New York?!?

I won't lose any sleep at night knowing the Knicks are still garbage because Rose is garbage and Melo is overrated to hell(and has never won anything nor will win anything unless LBJ recruits him to play for the Vets minimum). The Knicks a super team? Not in reality. -

You really can't say it any better than this.Laley23;1813710 wrote:Last year proved you dont need a back-up PG in the playoffs, cause Delly rode the pine.

Yeah, so wtf are you getting your panties in a bunch over? Nobody said these guys are going to make a huge difference in the playoffs. It's all about taking off minutes from our main guys so they are fresh for the playoffs. NBA teams always shorten their rotations for the playoffs.sleeper;1813735 wrote:You really can't say it any better than this. -

There are some posters who believe that these players are going to get good minutes and that they will have an impact in the NBA.like_that;1813740 wrote:Yeah, so wtf are you getting your panties in a bunch over? The reality is, they are not good and they never will be. They will eat shit minutes and never amount to anything other than bench warmers, garbage time players AT BEST. I would trade either of them for a bag of basketballs if the offer presented itself. -
Benny The JetI'll go with the prediction that Mcrae will play more important minutes by the end of the year than RJ.
-
Crimson streakI'll go with the prediction that sleeper is fucking retarded with his hot takes that is basically arguing with himself bc everyone knows those players might only get a few minutes a game in the playoffs

You're delusional. They may get dumpster minutes at the end of a blow out but the reality is they will never play a meaningful minute in the NBA and IF they do the team is F'd anyway.Crimson streak;1813749 wrote:I'll go with the prediction that sleeper is fucking retarded with his hot takes that is basically arguing with himself bc everyone knows those players might only get a few minutes a game in the playoffs

Lol right. Let's play kyrie and lebron 45 min a night in the regular season and have them tired for the playoffs /sleeperlogicsleeper;1813834 wrote:You're delusional. Right because that's what I said. I was clearly talking about the playoffs. You could put scooby doo out there with LBJ for 48 minutes a game and I'd still bet on the Cavs to win the East.Crimson streak;1813853 wrote:Lol right. Add in scrappy doo and I would agree with ya.sleeper;1813855 wrote:Right because that's what I said. I was clearly talking about the playoffs. You could put scooby doo out there with LBJ for 48 minutes a game and I'd still bet on the Cavs to win the East.
Cavs know what is important....not some regular season records. They will rest him, if he gets too tired or banged up another 'vacation' will be in order to stay fresh.

Which is exactly everyone's point. They are mainly going to get decent minutes in the regular season to cut everyone's minutes down. Like I said you are arguing with yourself. Everyone pretty much agreed neither of those players will play significant minutes in the playoffs smhsleeper;1813855 wrote:Right because that's what I said. I was clearly talking about the playoffs. The comment was made that if Mcrae/Felder got decent minutes in the regular season(still questionable if they will given they will be competing for 14th and 14th position on the bench) they could become a contributor in the playoffs.Crimson streak;1813860 wrote:Which is exactly everyone's point. It's important to stomp out these obnoxious ideas the moment they come about. You're delusional if you think either of these players matter. -
Benny The Jet
In the playoffs no, they won't get minutes, they'd be human victory cigars if in. If they did...things went REALLY wrong this yearsleeper;1813862 wrote:The comment was made that if Mcrae/Felder got decent minutes in the regular season(still questionable if they will given they will be competing for 14th and 14th position on the bench) they could become a contributor in the playoffs.

sleeperCrimson made the initial comment a few posts back up.
Then there was talk that Mcrae is better than Delly and the entire thread has been a Felder circle jerk.
They suck. Bank it. -

I said might as well play them in the regular season and see what they can do. If they play well enough maybe they could become contributors in the playoffs. You won't know until they play meaningful minutes in a NBA game.sleeper;1813913 wrote:Crimson made the initial comment a few posts back up.
