Haha fair enough. And even then I just deleted that post because it's too easy with him. He makes himself look like a huge fucking idiot and the only one who doesn't realize it is him.

I need to go back to this:

Footwedge;1768797 wrote:Did they teach you how to read in law school?? LOL. If you actually read what I wrote I said that this ai actually Manziel's first year of playing. 5 quarters last year is irrelevant and I made that very clear up above.
So you read my post that references Winston's and Mariota's QBR, neither of which existed last year, and inferred I was posting stats from last year and not this year?

I mean I know you're dumb, but that is like preschool level bad as it pertains to reading comprehension.

Footwedge;1768791 wrote:LOL. Go watch the movie draft day..and get back to me. Yeah....nobody talks about things. LMAO. Again, since it's not public info, then yes, it's not official. And your point is????

Like I told Shemp...don't hive a shit who believes it or not.
I was watching the Longest Yard, and I don't understand why Farmer doesn't sign more prisoners. It clearly produces winning football.

So what response do you have to Manziel being far behind his peers in your pet stat, QBR, this year?
What I said was this. Johnny's rookie season is irrelevant because he virtually didn't play. OK? 5 quarters of fooball does not count. What I clearly compared is Manziel's first year's numbers to the first year's numbers of Bortles, Bridgewater, Carr and Mariota.

Only Mariota phas put up higher numbers playing in his first year.

Serious question Shemp. did they dummy down the Bar Exam for you? You just don't seem like a guy smart enough to pass the exam. Your reading comp skills are terrible, just sayin. Maybe there are "special needs" bar exam recipients no?

    Pop quiz for all.

Which is more embarrassing to a football franchise? A Guy Drinking champagne at a club, doing karaoke, or this guy..

(link to footwedge's obsession with the stat http://www.ohiochatter.com/forum/showthread.php?47315-QBR-Rating)

This numbers are from this year (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2015/passing.htm)

    Marcus Mariota 66.34
    Jameis Winston 61.88
    Teddy Bridgewater 60.83
    Derek Carr 60.31

    Johnny Manziel 54.2

    Considering you said this:
what do you have to say about Manziel being so far behind his peers in QBR?

It must be really hard for Footwedge to comprehend that 4 of Manziel's contemporaries have better numbers than him this year in a stat that, in his own words, is better than QB rating.

It must also be really hard for Footwedge to comprehend that Johnny only playing 5 quarters last year is actually an indictment, not an excuse, because it was Johnny's lack of professionalism that prevented him from playing more as a rookie. The other 4 names in my post do not have such professionalism concerns.

I'll take the guy that wins.

These recent signings, as well as being present at high level meetings, indicate Farmer is going to be safe for next year.

    What a complete catastrophe.

I think Jimmy thinks by keeping at least 1 guy around he can achieve continuity and such but this is really a situation that it needs to be blown sky high and everyone goes.

Jimmy is just totally out of touch with the fan base and the kind of anger that will come if Ray Farmer is allowed to make draft picks this April.

I will give you this teaser ..I am very close with someone who played on the Browns in the 80's who is very close to Ozzie Newsome...um...the GM ofg the Ravens. Don't give a shit whether you believe me or not.
So, since you can't provide real proof, i'll be removing you from the thread.

My thoughts exactly. I figured his agent would be whispering sweet nothings into his ear about testing the market. Anyone know what the terms are?

I heard this afternoon (92.3 as source) that Travis Benjamin said his new deal is "80% done." Looks like they are going to at least keep their best two offensive weapons that aren't suspended.

    Surprising competency from the FO

Haslam is an idiot if he doesn't just blow this whole thing up. The cycle of ineptitude will continue if Farmer stays. If one of the components stays there's always someone to blame. If he were smart he'd just get a football guy to bring in his own people so they were in lockstep with each other. I do not want that clown fiddling with the #1 overall pick.

More surprising is that both actually want to stay.

And with an hour & 15 minute commute I always miss the good shit. Looks like old Footie got treated like a piñata. :D

For fucks sake, why do you guys insist on quoting FW?

Just getting ready to say that.

There aren't a lot of us on this board and most of you guys are pretty intelligent and can discuss sports on a pretty high level....but it always baffles me why so many participate in the barrage of telling FW how dumb he or his posts are. Are you honestly still debating Manziel, QBR and collegiate statistics with him?

WE SIGNED BIG PLAY GAR TO AN EXTENSION!

    LETS TALK ABOUT THAT.

One case where the front office actually got something right, in letting Cameron walk in the offseason. Barnidge probably decided to stay because he's never had a team use him in this type of role and probably wouldn't find a team who would use him as their #1 TE.
  • SportsAndLady
Love barnidge. Think I saw him drop like two passes all year. He sounds like a guy who wants to be in Cleveland. Glad we signed him.

Read it yesterday. Drew Magery is one of the few writers I enjoy from deadspin these days. He has some solid points, but I would want nothing to do with the NFL taking over the Browns. Goodell is a piece of shit. I wouldn't mind if they forced Haslam to sell to a competent owner just for my sake as a Browns fan, but I also don't believe in that. I still don't think it was right how the NBA went around forcing Sterling to sell his team.
  • Mulva
I like Magary, but that was way tl;dr. If the general point was that its too bad we ended up with Haslam then I agree.

I heard that Haslam bought the Browns for $1 billion and they are now worth $1.5 billion. So essentially, he really has no motivation to put a good product on the field if he's just looking to get paid.
