    1) You said we are not a championship contender yet;
    2) Teams don't turn into a championship contender overnight; you either are one or you're not
    3) You tried to justify your comment by saying that Lebron said the same thing;
    4) Lebron has said before he says what he says to motivate

So while you want to classify me calling you a fucking idiot as "being a pompous douche because our opinions are different", in reality if you break down what you actually said, you are being a fucking idiot.

It has nothing to do with differing opinions; it has to do with the fact your opinion is clearly wrong. Just because you want to couch a denial of fact as your opinion doesn't prevent me from attacking it as false.
lhslep134;1776713 wrote:Sorry that I use ignorant for it's literal definition, to mean lacking knowledge. In this case, it's the knowledge that an individual regular season game for a championship contender has no impact on the NBA playoffs, that the Cavs are a championship contender, and that Lebron says a lot of things he doesn't truly mean as a means of motivation for his teammates.

All of my points are factually supported, valid points that are being disagreed with.

If you feel that any of those disagreements can be supported, then provide the support.
lhslep134;1776715 wrote:I don't really care if you guys think I'm being a pompous dick. I know my argument is actually supportable while your emotional responses to last night's game are not.
Jesus dude. You're a POS. I'm glad we never got together in Dallas I'd probably kill myself.

Do me a favor and read your posts and look at the way you talk to people. You should be embarrassed lol.

I guess I'd look at it like this:

    1. It's an 82 game season where over half the teams make the playoffs. They'll make the playoffs and, barring major injuries, be a huge favorite to get to the championship series. In that vein, last night's loss was meaningless, as they're still the top team in the East if the season would end now.

    2. GS and SA are the top two teams in the West. Cleveland is 0-3 against them this year. They just got destroyed by GS at home on a national TV night after getting salty due to some minor-league comment that was about 0.5/10 on the trash talk scale. On one hand, everyone has off nights and one bad game means nothing. On the other hand, getting murdered when you're at home and talking like you have a chip on your shoulder is not a good look.

One bad game is no call to be saying they're pretenders and not contenders, or that some trades need made ASAP to shore things up. Way too much time left in the season and, I figure with injuries and all that, this team is a work in progress this year, where the goal is to be healthy and ready to go in the post-season, it's hard to believe that absorbing a home ass-kicking on national TV to the one team that, above all others, you'd expect them to want to beat is nothing to even worry about.

I agree with all of this. I didn't even see any overreactions. It's just a cause for concern and it will be addressed. It's fucking SPORTS, happens all the time. No team, coaching staff, players, etc worth a fuck would just sweep that loss under the rug and go about their day like it was nothing.

Honestly I'm glad we got our asses kicked last night. The cavs have just been coasting in games all year. They don't have the mindset right now or the fire to be great. I feel like this is the game that lights a fire under their ass and gets them going. I'm not going to over react to this loss mainly bc Kylie hasn't been back very long so he's going to take some time to get where he wants to be and love is struggling but we all saw what happens when he gets comfortable and plays well. The end of last season they were rolling. I feel like they aren't using love the way they should be by putting him on the block and let him go to work instead Of just being a 3 pt shooter. They will be fine and this won't be an issue come May/ June

Ask Terry_tate about meeting up in Dallas, we had a good time. I'm not like this in real life, because this is a message board with 25 people on it and there's no reason not to fuck around on here.

Also, IDGAF what you think when you continue to spew the nonsense that you are. I'll continue to call you out when I think you're wrong, and I'll continue to agree and give reps when I think you're right.

Agreed, no one said it was a good look. I only say that it has zero impact on what would happen if we meet in June.

It's not nonsense dude. It's my opinion that we aren't championship caliber right now, and even if we gel towards the playoffs, we still don't have the team to beat the Warriors or Spurs.

Think I'm wrong? Fine. But don't be a suffocating fuck about it.

This opinion is fucking nonsense. The only way to justify that would be to say that a team can go back and forth from being a championship contender and not, and that's a stupid justification. So the Cavs went from championship contenders before the season, to now non-championship contenders?

According to you is there a possibility we can be championship contenders again??? Will it be after we get Cousins or Monroe???

Lol There's not a chance in hell I'd ever engage with you in an argument about anything. Your smug manner of "talking" with people is too much for me. I'll just ignore your posts like a lot of people already do.

Apparently every regular season game is meaningless to the Cavs performance in June. So if the Cavs go 0-82, it won't tell you anything the Cavs chances against GSW or the Spurs.

Just trying to follow the appropriate logic.

So no answer as to whether or not the Cavs can become championship contenders again, since according to you they're not. Got it.

To your last point, I have many substantive discussions on here with people when they're not spewing idiotic hot takes. Easy solution bro, chill the fuck out with your hot takes. "Paul George is garbage" "Love needs to go" "Cavs are not a championship contender"

    Who are you, Skip Bayless??

Well apparently meaningless wasn't used in it's literal sense, so I can understand the confusion.

The reality is, depending on your assumptions, the game could either be meaningful or meaningless.

He could be traded to a team who wants to shed salary and the Cavs can get assets + a player for helping.
9 of 10 mil is guaranteed for next year and with a 5% trade kicker he's at 10.5 mil. Unless someone is trying to unload a long term trade contract, it ain't happening.

No. You said his contract is only guaranteed this year. He's got 90% of it guaranteed next year.

Congrats on spending your time researching the exact details on his contract. The reality is, they can dump him off to someone trying to shed salary in exchange for a long term contract of another player + some additional assets.

it literally takes 20 seconds and 1 website.

point remains no team takes Andys contract unless they're trading us an even longer and worse contract and we actually want that person. That all makes for a very unlikely situation.

Teams change a lot in the course of a season. The Cavs have several months to figure it out, but they are not currently playing at a championship level. I know that in a long regular season, teams only pick a handful of games to go all out, but I have a hard time believing that Golden State would not be one of the teams that the Cavs would go all out against.

I don't think there's anyone who didn't notice Cleveland played MUCH better in playoffs last year vs regular season. They'll do the same this year. Obviously the Spurs and Warriors are the 2 best teams. But obviously Cleveland can beat them in a series.

In other words ...... Caaaaaaaaaalm the fuck down.

I don't think its likely either that we can find a taker for him. He's junk.

I certainly don't want him on the Cavs anymore. He's the worst player on the team with a bad contract.
