Might as well move on and get this going. Last year I started this thread, the following happened:

    -Cavs won lottery
    -Kyrie was extended
    -Fired Mike Brown
    -Lebron came
    -Love was traded for

Hopefully we have another good offseason.

Inb4 redneck thavoice trolls and tries to reverse jinx the cavs. So original!!! Also inb4 puss boy classy says something fucking stupid, because we all know that will happen.

Haha puss boy! Let's be honest though Cleveland should roll to the Finals once again. I do think trading Wiggins for Love will go down as a huge mistake however. TT has proven he is a pretty damn good PF, a lineup with Irving, Wiggins and Lebron would be great and set for years of title runs

That'd be one big key, with other being (as LT said on the other thread) having bench/support players who can legit contribute in the event they're needed to. As the series progressed with GS, you could pretty much see the strain on the team from getting a whole lot of struggle from virtually every guard. JR was a scattershot; Shump was ineffective; after his good game, Delly was a waste of an offensive player and guys like Jones and Miller were being asked to do far more than they should have been at that stage of the season (playing big minutes for Jones, simply playing in any situation other than first :30 of a blowout for Miller).

Yup, pretty much. The bench doesn't even need to light up the scoreboard or anything. They just can't allow huge runs to happen within 30 seconds, thus not allowing the starters to rest. The bench was doing that during the regular season until everyone died. When Lebron went out, it was just TOO easy for GSW to score regardless who was out there. I don't think their defense even had to put any effort into stopping that offense.

Yeah, and no matter how good one player is, you can't just trot him out to carry everyone for 45ish minutes of a 48 minute game (not even counting how 1 and 2 went to OT). Not at that level against that competition. But when the rest of the team is two guys who are best from inside the paint (Moz, TT), a mostly cold JR and a slew of guys who don't strike fear into anyone as offensive players, what other choice did Cleveland have?

There are reports that Mo Williams wants to return to cleveland. I like Mo, but he disspears in the playoffs just like JR did in the finals (granted Mo would be ocming off the bench this time around and wouldn't be someone they would depend on, if everyone is healthy). He is also 32 and is looking for a multiyear deal. When you're in the cap situation as the cavs, you can't be giving multiyear deals to players who are beyond 30. If its a 2 year deal with the 2nd being a team option, I would be down though.

I'd like to see Tristan signed(at a reasonable price), a viable backup PG, and a scorer off the bench.

A roster resembling this would be nice:

    LBJ
    Kyrie
    Love
    JR
    Mozgov

    Thompson
    Varejao
    Shump
    A PG
    A Scorer
    J. Jones
    Delly

    I wouldn't have a problem with that.

There are worse options than Mo Williams, but fuck he sucks ass on def, and doesn't strike me as an efficient guy, or a great floor general. Again I haven't looked at any of his advanced stats, just what I recall.

And yes, Shump starts over JR, EZ.
  • se-alum
I know it's probably not possible, but I'd love to have Lou Williams.
  • wildcats20
Lol Kevin Love is clearly going to the Knicks. Or maybe the Nets.

Could potentially play him with Delly, to offset the defensive concerns.

With the Clippers acquiring Lance, I'd love to see the Cavs try to put a package together to grab Crawford. Would be amazing to have him and JR coming off the bench with the 2nd unit.

Delly will be gone. Someone will overpay and we aren't matching

    No, just no.

You trade an unknown player, for a player the caliber of Kevin Love 10/10.

You guys don't seem to agree him being a top 10 player, but I don't think you'd argue top 20. There is no guarantee Wiggins is ever that good. Can he get there? Sure. But he was poor on defense this season, and that was supposed his calling card. Also, he can't shoot....like at all. Nor can he dribble. Going by the PER Efficiency ratings, he was actually a below league average player last season. You and others fall in love with his "upside" and sure he's got a high ceiling, but you don't waste the tail end of LBJ's prime hoping and wishing on Wiggins development.

Unless Love leaves this offseason or next. Then you'd be right. But I"m taking love at his word.

Possibly. But who knows how that shakes out. For all intents and purposes I assume he's coming back.

That's not a 10/10. There were a few on here myself included, who weren't in favor of wiggins/love trade.

I understand, but that doesn't change my opinion. You knew what you were getting with Love, most everyone expected 18-10, and we pretty much got that, while Wiggins was, and still is a large unknown.
  • IggyPride00
You knew what you were getting with Love,
Sure did. Guy known for battling numerous injuries and being generally unreliable because of it.

He is who we thought he was.

Coupled with Kyrie and Andy they formed the all hospital bed team, and yet fans acted shocked when we needed them most in the finals none were able to answer the bell because they did what they do and got injured along the way.

The Cleveland Clinic sponsorship might be the most fitting of any team in the NBA with one of their most important sponsors.

Number one key for anyone they bring in this off-season is a proven track record of being available on a consistent basis. Everything else is secondary.
  • Lovejoy1984
Can we go ahead and ban him now?
  • sportswizuhrd
Reading some forums and wanted to almost merge them with our board by bringing some trade ideas thrown around by other posters. Do any of these sound like a good deal?

    Haywood + #24 for...

With Mike Miller to New Orleans for Eric Gordon.
    Gerald Henderson from Charlotte
OJ Mayo and Caron Butler(waive) from Milwaukee
Terrance Ross/James Johnson and Greivis Vasquez from Toronto

Again, just using this as more chatter because rumors this time of year are pretty pointless unless it comes from people like Wojo.

I hope he's gone, but I don't see anyone overpaying for a scrapper with very limited ability.
