2015 MLB Chatter

Also, he's got the best ERA outside of Kershaw (2.51, Kershaw 2.12) over the last 5 years. Next closest...Chris Sale at 2.80.

Are we certain the market wasn't there for more from a team like Boston? Loaded with prospects and who could potentially get him for 5-6 more years?

Why on earth would Boston be buying right now? They have 1(??) win since the ASG lol.

Because they will get chapman for more than just this year. Boston should be back to their winning ways by next season.

Just because you probably could sign Chapman long-term doesn't mean you should. The team needs a ton of pieces. And the closer is the most overrated position in baseball. So if you can deal him and get some help, you should do that because that will be more beneficial for the team in the long run than paying a bunch of money on a long term deal for a guy who is going to play less than 100 innings/year for you.

Not sure Boston is thinking along those lines, though could be wrong.

But pretty sure they are listening to offers for Uehara, who is not a FA until 2017. Doubt they would trade for Chapman while at the same time deal their current closer.

Agree with this. Love Chappy but definitely want to deal him. They'll get a huge haul for him.

Also, thought AZ was talking about Cueto and the Red Sox.
  • Laley23
Wait he was talking about Cueto. Lol

I stand by my comment. Don't think Boston who has 1 win since the ASG is looking to trade for a player for a few starts so they can finish in 4th place and not last.
  • SportsAndLady
I assumed he was talking about chapman because if he were talking about cueto that would make no sense for Boston lol
  • Azubuike24
The Red Sox were rumored for Cueto a few different times. They don't plan on being bad past this season and have major money to spend. Don't be shocked if they aren't right in the final running to sign Johnny. My point was, I would've rather traded with them.
  • Azubuike24
Red Sox also linked to Hamels.

Who knows what they would've offered, but given the depth in their system, if you could've scored just 1 prospect better than Finnegan, I would've rather done that.

Like if they would've just dealt Owens or Moncada...and whatever else, give me the quality over quantity.

The end of Randy Johnson's speech he gave a shout out to Piketon's Zach Farmer who is battling leukemia for the 2nd time since becoming an OSU baseball player. Tomorrow he turns 21 and he has very little time left. So sad but outstanding to hear Randy say kind words to him.

David Ross was the only Cubs PITCHER today to not allow a run. A perfect 1-2-3 8 pitch 8th inning. Throwing 68 mph lol
  • Ironman92
7 RBI tonight for the young David Ortiz in his prime and never having played with Manny Ramirez

Arod with a HR on his 40th birthday. Joins Ty Cobb, Rusty Staub and Gary Sheffield as only players to hit a HR as a teen and then also in their 40's

Huge trade this morning. Rockies finally ship Tulo out of Colorado. He's going to Toronto in exchange for Jose Reyes and three prospects.

Strange for Blue Jays? I think they need pitching. They were iffy on Reyes defense. Toronto sent a really good prospect as well.

    Papelbon to the Nats

Shit....I kinda like the Nats but Papelbon is one of my least favorite players and kinda thought Chapman would go there.

I heard his seat was E6.

Who Reyes? Even so Tulo's health and the prospects they sent are a head scratcher. Rockies got some young pitching.

What the Yankees are doing is going to make Tim Kirkjuan talk really high and squeaky.

After 1 the Yanks were down by 5.....they are now in the top of the 3rd with no outs and Yankees are winning by 10.

2 Rangers pitchers each allowed 7+ ER aleady
  • Ironman92
Adam Rosales pitching for the Rangers in the 9th

    Unreal what's happening in Texas.

Jump out to a 5-0 lead.

    Lose 21-5.

How the hell do you allow 21 runs unanswered?
