I understand that, but he's still shooting under 50% on 2-pointers. Granted, that's not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, but for a guy that's around the basket an awful lot, his shooting percentage could improve some.Mulva;1696212 wrote:More than 1/3 of his shot attempts are from behind the arc. This.....he was one of those odd players that just seemed nearly automatic at the 17-20 foot shot, the extra few feet just isn't him.Mulva;1696212 wrote:More than 1/3 of his shot attempts are from behind the arc. He's used more as a stretch 4 than a post player in this system.
Stretch 4 is a good call -

He's not shooting horribly from 3, but he is shooting below his career average. It seems like most of our guys are shooting poorly this season. I mean, it's pretty unreasonable to expect him to shoot 56.5% like he has the past two years, but even LeBron's FG% is down below 50% right now. I assume it's only a matter of time before he climbs over that mark, though.Ironman92;1696221 wrote:This.....he was one of those odd players that just seemed nearly automatic at the 17-20 foot shot, the extra few feet just isn't him.
Cleveland is currently 18/30 in FG% as a team, 18/30 in 3FG%, and 19/30 in points allowed per game. Another poor stat is that we are currently 26/30 in blocked shots per game. Would certainly like to add another rim protector for the second unit, because obviously Brendan Haywood can't play anymore.

like_thatWon't be surprised to see Blatt get fired soon, especially if this shit is true.

Commander of AwesomeCavs didn't get smoked by the Suns. They lost, but 1 pt down with 2 min in the 4th is hardly "smoked". Drama queen bs in the media.

lhslep134Here's my take on Blatt: this was the wrong roster for him. Hell, it might even be the wrong league for him. He's a smart coach whose previous successes were all on teams that gave him 100% effort all the time.
Giving 100% for an entire regular season game in the NBA? LOL
So there's this tension between a coach who wants to players to try harder and the players, led by Lebron, who are openly giving less than 100% effort.
I know the media is over-sensationalizing a lot of it, but there seems to be legitimate tension there. While I hope it's reparable, who knows at this point. -

I was just saying this to my friend. Blatt has never dealt with NBA personalities, and now he all of a sudden was handed 3 all stars (one of which who is the best player in the world). Like you said, just the wrong league. He should have been an assistant, before taking on an head coaching gig.lhslep134;1696251 wrote:Here's my take on Blatt: this was the wrong roster for him. This is part of the reason I wanted them to hire George Karl... a veteran coach who knows how to handle the various aspects of being a head coach in the NBA: media, egos, assistant coaches, etc. It would certainly be interesting to know what the thought process was going into the hiring process. However, remember that Speolstra and LeBron had a rocky relationship at first, as well. Let's give it some time.like_that;1696252 wrote:I was just saying this to my friend. like_thatI wanted Karl or Hollins, but was called out by a poster who we know as a certain little butt hurt bitch, for wanting retreads and how that isn't what the team needed.

lhslep134At the same time, Woj makes a good point about Lebron's leadership here. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/cavs-need-lebron-james-to-show-leadership-he-promised-173753124.html

It's true. I went to the New Year's Eve game, and halfway through the second quarter, LeBron got up and walked out of the gym and never returned. What type of leadership is that? These young guys need him in every huddle, talking to them when they come out of the game, cheering and being in their corner even when he's not dressed to play. It was interesting to say the least, and really seems like he's not all that interested in bringing these guys along like he said he was. I certainly hope this is wrong, but it didn't look good from my perspective.lhslep134;1696269 wrote:At the same time, Woj makes a good point about Lebron's leadership here. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/cavs-need-lebron-james-to-show-leadership-he-promised-173753124.html -

It doesn't look good at all. The dude was chilling in Miami while the cavs acquired 3 new players. The "leader" of the team couldn't greet them? He was in Dallas the night before last night's game. Not setting a good example imo.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1696277 wrote:It's true. You can blame some of this on coaching too. Blatt should question his leadership and tell him he needs to be around the team. -

I am OK with a player staying back at the facility to rehab and such when the team is on a roady but if you want to be the leader of the franchise you need not be doing what he was doing.
As for the Coach telling him what to do? Great concept, but think he has any balls to stand up to him? Maybe a Phil Jackson could and would do that.. -

Phil Jackson definitely would, i.e. see Carmelo Anthonythavoice;1696297 wrote:As for the Coach telling him what to do? Great concept, but think he has any balls to stand up to him? Maybe a Phil Jackson could and would do that.. -

That's why you don't hire a coach that has 0 experience with NBA players.thavoice;1696297 wrote:I agree.

Being an ass? Hasn't he coached with his health before? If his health is so bad that he can't coach, why would we want him?Ironman92;1696396 wrote:Health or are you just being an ass?
