2014-2015 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

  • Commander of Awesome
@realcavsfans: I watched a group of unpaid young men leave everything they had on the field. Tonight at 9 I'll be watching millionaires not get back on D.

    Pwned
  • Ironman92
Think I'll watch the Cavs allow Phoenix to shoot 62% from the field in the 2nd half
  • Ironman92
Kyrie giving good effort on defense but this team is defensively awful right now.
  • Ironman92
Holy smokes that is one of the best last few seconds of a quarter ever

LeBron and JR giving them a chance. Smith hit 4 3's in about 90 second and LeBron is going hard to the rack.
  • KB0938
Lol when jr is on. ...you flat out cannot guard him.
  • Ironman92
Actually fun to watch.....prepared for the Suns hot finish for the win but it's nice to see a sign of LeBron with a chip and Kyrie playing hard like a bench guy fighting for time
  • Ironman92
Ok....Smith was fire hot but has badly missed 2 straight 3's....LeBron and Kyrie need to finish it
  • Ironman92
Get Marion out....Morris has 31 and Marion has taken 3 shots in the last minute.
  • Ironman92
Morris just scored with LeBron all over him
  • Ironman92
    Damnit Irving gotta make that
  • Ironman92
Fucking losing it with 1 on 1 ball
  • Ironman92
Don't think Blatt had the right lineup in at the end when it mattered most
  • SportsAndLady
Not watching this one but 9 fucking points for Kevin Love. Kyrie not much better
  • Ironman92
I just don't get James Jones being out there......then he just stands there watching as LeBron forced Morris into a terrible shot and then he didn't box anyone out and gave up a ridiculous rebound. Fack
  • Lovejoy1984
James Jones playing meaningful minutes is a bad thing.

Love was terrible tonight all around, defense was absolutely a joke. No way Morris should go for 35.

Love has barely played the 2nd half

IMO (and this may be hard to believe) but Kyrie is playing very hard on defense and JR taking his shots and Kyrie hasn't any rhythm on offense. Hit a big 3 but nothing much has been set for him.

Blatt just stands there waiting for visitors to ski down his nose.

Cavs played too soft and Phoenix played hard and even a tad dirty. Cleveland needs to play more physical. LeBron with a big game and a tremendous last 13 min.

A shit ton of good from 2:00 left in the 3rd until 3:00 left in the 4th. Marion fired 4 shots in about 2 min and Kyrie got 1 touch in that time and drilled a 3.

Jones and Thompson in crunch time just seemed silly.
  • Pick6
Dion clearly was the root of all problems.

Sad to say, but Love needs to step his shit up and Blatt is wearing out his welcome.

    Is Blatt still here Monday?

    I don't nose.

    Current state of the Cavs....

They just threw this out there this morning on Mike and Mike (TIFWIW) but they asked if they should trade Love before the deadline instead of risking him letting him walk at end of the year. I was a big proponent of bringing him here and was all for the trade with T-Wolves...but this just isn't working out. Not sure changing coaches can save this teams lack of intensity, hustle, and overall effort on defense.

I'll admit I didn't watch him a whole lot, but did Love piss and moan this much in Minnesota? His on-court demeanor at times is fucking terrible.

I've watched a ton of games this year having season tickets, and here's my take on the current status of the Cavaliers:

    1) Guys need to DO what they've been brought in to do. If you're a shooter, then knock down your shots! Mike Miller and James Jones bring very little to the table if they're not knocking down their threes. That's what they were brought in to do. 35.4% and 34.7% is not good enough, even if a large majority of their shots are threes.

    2) Kevin Love needs to get this thing figured out. It looks like he's trying to think and analyze too often, almost every time he has the ball. He needs to realize he's not in Minnesota anymore, and he doesn't have to create his own shot or create shots for his teammates every possession. He simply needs to rebound, shoot the shot when it's there (AND MAKE IT!!! 43.6% from a post player?), and if it's not there then swing it quickly or keep the ball moving. And obviously, he needs to improve defensively, but everyone knows that.

    3) The lack of communication on defense can only be attributed to the lack of continuity on the roster to this point. It's obvious that guys just aren't on the same page all the time, and defense is one side of the ball where you must be on the same page in order to succeed night in and night out. Hopefully, this improves as guys get healthy and get used to playing with the new guys.

    4) There was a HUGE difference in the team's confidence last night with LeBron back out there. Even being down 14 in the 3rd quarter at one point, they closed the gap and tied it up with 3 minutes left in the 4th. Hopefully, we can keep LeBron healthy and start to get this ball rolling in the right direction. Confidence is huge in this league, as you could see from Markieff Morris last night. If we can rattle off 4 or 5 wins in a row, look out.

I know the waiting game sucks, and everyone expected us to walk into the finals after LeBron and Love came, but let the process play out. "I’m not promising a championship. I know how hard that is to deliver. We’re not ready right now. No way. Of course, I want to win next year, but I’m realistic. It will be a long process, much longer than it was in 2010. My patience will get tested. I know that. I’m going into a situation with a young team and a new coach. I will be the old head. But I get a thrill out of bringing a group together and helping them reach a place they didn’t know they could go. I see myself as a mentor now and I’m excited to lead some of these talented young guys."
LeBron knew we were going to go through this as a team, but fans don't want to believe that or wait for that. He knew it was going to be a longer process than in 2010. I have faith in this team, but I also have realistic expectations. Accept the struggle, because in the end, when we start to reap the rewards, it's going to make the ride that much more enjoyable.

God these national guys are salivating at the thought of "Cleveland is falling apart!!"

    "Lebron pushed blatt!"
"Tyronn Lue called a timeout behind blatt's back!"
    "Kevin Love could leave!!"

    Pretty funny

I know, it's just a big joke to everyone.

More than 1/3 of his shot attempts are from behind the arc. He's used more as a stretch 4 than a post player in this system.
