True, but the players still had a chance to make the plays Week 1 you had dumbass west fucking up the handoff when the browns were in the redzone. This week, Hoyer could have thrown a better ball to hawkins to get that first down. Hawkins could have also caught that ball to end the game.

Regardless, it's just old to see them find ways to not make these plays and lose. The Browns have probably lost about 90% of their games the last 3 years, because they do not make those plays. No amount of talent will fix that.

If the Browns manage to lose to a hapless Titans team coming out of the bye, will everyone finally agree it is time to go to Johnny?

Both the Jags and Vikings pulled the trigger today and moved on to their rookie QB once reality set in they weren't going anywhere this season.

How long will the Browns continue to be the only go nowhere team that refuses to see what they have in their rookie QB?

Would a loss to the Titans finally put it over the hump to those of you in the Hoyer camp?

The Vikings put in Bridgewater because Cassel got hurt. But hey don't let facts get in the way of your argument.

    The point stands though.

We are now the only going nowhere franchise that insists on playing a career journeymen that needs Depends often times at the end of close games in favor of our 1st round pick who is the future of the franchise.

    Hoyer isn't the problem, Iggy.

Idk why you guys respond to iggy. Do what most of us are doing and ignore him. He's a clown and deserves to die. Why respond?
  • IggyPride00
I bet the Brian Hoyer fans were probably huge Derek Anderson fans as well back in the day. Probably Kelly Holcomb too.

He is clearly in over his head, and what other explanation can be offered for hiring a guy that no other NFL team ever even considered interviewing. I can't think of any other reason he is still employed by this organization.

If you'll remember he was the 32nd guy interviewed...well not actually interviewed...the first 30 guys Jimmy Boy went after said "No fuckin way." before he got somebody nobody ever heard of to even come to Cleveland to be interviewed!

I believe teh browns would be 0-3 with Manzeil and people would be wondering why they wasted the pick on him.
At least right now, even though 1-2 is disappointing and there shouldnt be any moral victories in the NFL, there does seem to be some promise, something that really hasnt been seen and felt in quite a long time.

Many people are saying 'same ole fucking browns' and that fact cannot be argued, but it just feels right now they FINALLY are on that edge of breaking through.

The Cleveland media is totally failing right now.

Mike Pettine is getting the longest honeymoon I have ever seen for a Cleveland coach of any sport.

It is like the guy walks on freaking water and no one dare question him.

I told everyone the day he was hired he was a freaking bum, and we have pretty much the worst defense in the NFL right now and it is his fault.

He is who we thought he was, and Haslam freaking hired him anyway. Unfreaking real.

The coaching isn't the problem. The players executing is. How many times our ends lose contain yesterday? EVERYTIME it seemed. If Gabriel just runs under the ball or the long snapper doesn't fuck up two snaps, were 2-1 and Pettine is coach of the year. Hell they have 4 winnable games right out of the bye week. The coaches have put these guys in situations to succeed and they are fucking it up.

Anyone calling for Hoyer's head right now is a moron.

    Hoyer is 61 for 95 (64.2%) for 716 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs, 0 FUM, 97.5 QBR.

He is NOT the problem, the defense has been swiss cheese and special teams have been terrible (2 missed FGs and not catching that last punt lost us the Baltimore game, not Hoyer).

Actually, it seems like the "same old, same old." Still not closing out victories.

Coaching isn't the problem but as much as this team could currently be 3-0, they could just as easily be 0-3.

You can say that about almost every NFL team. The problem is the browns just never make the small handful of plays per game that translate to wins. This is why they can't get passed 5 win seasons. If the browns make one of the following plays, they win.

-make one of the attempted FGs
-Hawkins catches that last pass attempt
    -Haden covers smith
-Gabriel plays the ball right on that long throw and scores the easy td
-defense completes the numerous sacks they missed

There are more, but these are the types of small details the browns always seem to fuck up. The browns should have comfortably won by 10 yesterday. Instead they found ways to keep the ravens in it until the end. Classic browns loss.

Well yeah...and I would argue this offense is better with 2 under center. Hoyer has yet to hit a guy in stride on a deep ball because he lacks arm strength and aside from a few timing routes to the outside, Hoyer hasn't done anything that any NFL QB couldn't do. He's doing a great job being a game manager, but we won't hit any big pass plays with him this year.
