Baltimore @ Cleveland

^^^ agreed. Now this six games will count as a year off his contract. Making him a FA at the end of next season. If he stays clean he HAS to resign with Cleveland for sticking by his dumbass side. Glad I'm not farmer and have to find a way to work that contract out!

Read somewhere the NFLPA could have done more, but apparently they aren't a fan of Gordon being a colossal fuck up. I'd rather have him for 6 games than none at all. Who knows how much it could end up helping out. His troubles should help with keep the contract negotiations lower, but wouldnt be shocked to see someone like the Raiders offer him a shit ton. Also helps that they whoever the QB is at the time wont be on some outrageous 100+ million contract.

That's retarded. The NFLPA doesn't work that way.

I know, but I posted this to rile fw & iggy up--guess I got a bonus with you.

I much rather Gordon be out the full year than play 6 games and the browns lose a fill contract year on him. The browns are getting fucked the most out of this.
Actually, this sounds dumb but we have to hope that Gordon gets suspended the extra two games for the DUI in November and is out 12 games instead of 10. If he misses 10, this counts as a contract year and they only have him under their control for 1 more year. If it's 12, it doesn't count as a contract year and they have him for 2 more years. Sounds dumb but I guess it's the rule.

Yeah, you really riled me up..?

We know you hate manziel, no need to post stupid pictures that no one else finds funny.

He does? I haven't seen him post any negatives on JFF but I may have missed something.

Regardless, I don't see the point of piling on our own QB who hasn't had significant playing time yet. I get we have a few delusional manziel nut huggers on this forum, but in the end we all want manziel to succeed. It's not like he has put up Brandon weeden performances for us to mock.

    This.

This is a browns thread and vball posts a picture bashing our first round pick who hasn't even had significant playing time yet. Makes no sense.

And yes BR vball is not a fan of JFF

Ok, cool. Wasn't aware. I want the kid to succeed as much as anyone. Hell, I bought into the hype and bought a JFF t-shirt jersey as soon as they hit the stores so I'm really pulling for him.....but one would have to be blind if they thought this kid was ready for prime time. He shows glimpses of "wow" but for the most part, he looks like a rookie clusterf#ck. Needs more time to learn.....

Everyone needs more time to learn. It's crazy to just throw a rookie QB into the fire immediately. Let him sit for a year and then the keys will be his.

We actually are very very lucky we have hoyer. Someone serviceable until JFF is ready. Not a lot of teams have that luxury. We certainly didn't a few years ago with weeden. I never thought he was going to be any good but you never know, with a year off, learning the system, I'm sure he could have been service able himself his second year.

Settle down, big guy, and nobody said I hated Manziel. He's a dbag, yes, but if he can help us win, then so be it.

    I don't...consider the source.

That's why I don't get all of the whining by guys like Iggy & FW. If Manziel is truly the "second coming", as they perceive, he should be able to just walk on the field his second year and hit the ground running. Do I think that will happen? No, but I do think he's their long-term guy (at least in their plans).

I don't know about Weeden. All of the tools in the world except in his head. Pissed down his leg in pressure situations and those flips? Would love Manziel or Hoyer to have Weeden's arm, with their mindset, but that's wishful thinking.

Lol come on. For years on here you've been a huge manziel hater. Don't play it off like you aren't a JFF hater.

    I admit it, for years I was, but he's a Brown now-so I can't hate him like I did...comes with the territory.

Lol I forgot about flipper. I'll never forget him missing oby who was wide open playing Balt and the browns bench reaction.

Strange Gordon plead guilty this morning to his DUI
  • iclfan2
The 2 game DUI suspension is apparently not retroactive. So he got it out of the way prior to the new rules.

Crimson streak;1654665 wrote:Strange Gordon plead guilty this morning to his DUI
    This is why:

Browns receiver Josh Gordon has pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. Under the new drug policy, a first offense will trigger a two-game suspension. Under the old drug policy, a first offense ordinaily results in no suspension and a maximum fine of $50,000.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Gordon pleaded guilty now to ensure that he will not receive an automatic, mandatory two-game suspension for the DUI charges. (Under the old drug policy, a suspension is possible for first-offense DUI, if a player has had other issues under the substance-abuse policy.)
  • Laley23
It was smart, however the old policy stated that he could be suspended based on other off-field issues as well...so he is probably getting 2 games regardless. But, it was smart to plead guilty now to possibly avoid it.

If this is factual, I really like that helmet.
