Might as well kick this off....

We don't even have a carcass in the 2013 World Series yet...and already the Yankees are making news.

Detroit will win it all...no question about it

Thought it was ludicrous a few weeks ago when they said the next big contract should be 300 million plus based on revenues and such.

Then a report came out that Kershaw was offered that at the beginning of the season.

Seems like we say this every couple of years, but where does this end?
I havent dont it in a couple of years, but the last time I tallied it up a few years ago MLB had more DIFFERENT teams make it to the final 4 teams and winning it all then any of the other sports, and until that changes you wont see a cap or anything like that.

    BP wins his 4th GG

He lost range (especially towards the middle)...but I'm ok with him winning it. It was either him or Barney.

Gerardo Parra beat out Jay Bruce and Chris Welsh, Thomas Brenna....hell every Reds tv announcer will irritate me because of this. It was either Bruce or Parra and Parra is outstanding.

Detroit will win it next year and the Red Sox/Cardinals will hand them their 2013 WS title because Detroit obviously was the best team. I mean, have you seen that lineup? Wow!

The Yankees have signed Derek Jeter to a 1 year contract of $12 million.
Boston has picked up Lester's option.

The Braves are moving to Cobb county, who is apparently going to build them a new stadium.

I guess 17 year old Turner field was feeling a bit obsolete or something.

The Falcons are also getting a a new stadium in Atlanta because the 22 year old Georgia Dome wasn't good enough either.

Did I miss the boat or something? When did 20 years become the new standard to need a new ball park, or is that just in Atlanta?

One of the worst run cities in the country. It doesn't surprise me.

I might be off the boat myself....but wasn't that stadium made for the 1996 Olympics and then converted a bit for the Braves to use?

All 13 players receiving qualifying offers from their teams turned them down...looks like a very active free agent season will be upon us.

Those include the Indian's Ubaldo Jimenez and the Red's Shin Soo Choo.... As well as 3 from the WS Champ Red Sox; Ellsbury, Napoli and Stephen Drew...and three from the Yankees; Granderson, Cano and Kuroda. Also out there Ervin Santana, Brian McCann Carlos Beltran, Kendrys Morales, and Nelson Cruz.

Scott Boras is at it again....he is seeking deals for Shin soo Choo and Jacoby Ellsbury in the 7 year/$120 million range.

Robinson Cano earlier dumped Boras as his agent in favor or Jay Z's group....and is still seeking a $300million contract. The odds are that the Yanks will retain his services for 7 years at half that.

Choo hit 285 w/21 homers. Pretty solid year for sure. And I'm sure he played a decent right field as well. With that said...get real baseball. Choo is not worth anything close to the money he's lookin for. As I remember it...Superstars hit 3 bills plus and/or popped out 40 homers.

I have a problem with the money bantered about for people that are good players...but not All Stars.

As for the tribe, I think its time to part ways with Cabrera and bring up the kid and let him play. Dolan has every right to dump payroll after the pathetic showing at the turnstiles this past year.

You'd think by looking up his numbers, you would have noticed he played CF.

His numbers don't show his defensive position clown.

Braves are moving out of downtown and leaving MARTA riders (black) and heading for the suburbs and the I-75 and 285 crowd (white). I hate to break it down into such a race issue, but its obvious that the majority of ticketholders are from Alpharetta, Kennessaw, and surrounding to the North. Basketball and Football are staying downtown to accommodate its more ethnically diverse fan groups.

This has been done before. The first case that came to mind for me was FedEx field in Landover, MD for the Skins. It was an obvious move when it they decided not to build in Falls Church but NE of DC.

Here's a map of population demographics between Black and White in Atlanta. Find the 75/285 split and look at the race makeup.

(can't get map to post for some reason. Provided a link)
