2013 Cleveland Browns Thread: RIP Chud

thavoiceDo not know what the FA market looks like but dont the browns really need to step up their salary soon to fit into the basement of the CBA? Cannot throw rookies tons of money so they have to spend it somewhwere

Slrine has played well this season, but I'd rather get a vet at CB or spend a lower pick on one. Also McFadden should develop, he was a 3rd round pick, time for him to sack up!BR1986FB;1510621 wrote:Unless they have guys walk in FA why in the Hell would they use a 1st on D-Line? Assuming they don't go QB, I'd go WR, OL & CB in that order.
You have that much faith in Skrine opposite of Haden?
Rubin is probably gone next season, so yeah we need dline depth. Also I'm a huge proponent of the lines in football, if you have a QB, I would go Oline/Dline/Pass rush with the 1st round pick every yr. Can't have enough pass rushers. -

They have a couple of rookie contracts that will be coming up soon (Haden, Mack, TJ Ward) that some money will be allocated on. I'm not confident that they will re-sign Mack or Ward though. I think they have positioned themselves well to add "final pieces" to get them where they want to be, assuming the QB is in place. They may be able to forego the RG issue by snagging a vet in FA.thavoice;1510623 wrote:Do not know what the FA market looks like but dont the browns really need to step up their salary soon to fit into the basement of the CBA? Off topic but since everything has recently been "sunshine & roses" is it a coincidence that we haven't seen Iggy on here to spout the gloom & doom? LOL -

How are the feelz on the OBR, BR? Guys riding pretty high right now? Thoughts on Hoyer? I personally don't think he ends up being the long-term answer, but it's at least been nice to have an enjoyable Sunday afternoon the last two weeks.BR1986FB;1510640 wrote:They have a couple of rookie contracts that will be coming up soon (Haden, Mack, TJ Ward) that some money will be allocated on. It seems as the Browns go, so goes my fantasy team, so I hope we keep winning! -

To be honest, I hardly get on the OBR anymore.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1510655 wrote:How are the feelz on the OBR, BR? Guys riding pretty high right now? Thoughts on Hoyer? Me either, I'm very disappointed with the insider content as of late. Doubt I renew.BR1986FB;1510656 wrote:To be honest, I hardly get on the OBR anymore. -

I always thought those insider things were a waste anyways on any myriad of sites/teams. If it is real news then it will be picked up with the regular stuff. I know the pitt post gazette started that years ago and I at first severly limited the regular articles to get you to sign up. Guess it didnt work because it drove down viewers.Commander of Awesome;1510667 wrote:Me either, I'm very disappointed with the insider content as of late. Doubt I renew. -
shook_17Should I start Hoyer again this week on fantasy football? I think he will have another good game

If the Browns keep winning, you better fucking keep starting him. -

Nice to know I've been missed.Off topic but since everything has recently been "sunshine & roses" is it a coincidence that we haven't seen Iggy on here to spout the gloom & doom? LOL
I've been busy the past 2 weeks with some work stuff, so I have had to sit out the daily blow by blow and watch from afar. Frankly I have also been spending more time perusing the OBR for browns related stuff.
Besides, I was picking up too many trolls in this thread, and of the handful of regulars I have probably 1/2 of them on my ignore list so that I don't keep feeding their addiction to my posts by engaging them.
All I have been asking for is watchable football for 5 years now, so I have enjoyed the last 2 weeks.
I did almost have a heart attack before the Minnesota game when the report came out about Banner's determination to move Gordon, but thankfully he played so well he made himself un-tradeable no matter how much Joe wanted to.
I have been a big supporter of his all along (I remember celebrating Heckert picking him), and people totally slept on how big an impact he has on the team. In fact I remember before the season you shared my sentiment as far being concerned about the struggle to find points those first 2 games while he was out. The kid is a stud, and when you consider he's only 22 if he can straighten out he's going to be a top 5 receiver in the league.
I've seen Hoyer play since freshmen year at Iggy as I had a brother in his class on those teams. It's a trip seeing him play for the Browns. Not sure he's the guy long term (could be though if he keeps winning), but being a Lombardi guy is going to give him every shot to hold this job.
They should win Thursday night, and take sole possession of the North while the Steelers are bottom dwellers. It's an interesting time to be a Browns fan. -
BR1986FBI think a few of us saw something like this coming. Can't say I'll lose any sleep over it....

No, but on that topic....you could see the Buccos were coming along and going down this path (playoff contender). I think they could've been in last year if that hadn't had that horrible blown call at the plate which seemed to have sent them into a tailspin. They have a nice young team.Automatik;1512002 wrote:You saw the Pirates having this type of season? You Nastradaumus mofo!
Steelers you could see coming a mile away. Cowher's aging players along with a new/overrated head coach. -
Pick6@TexansVoice: Texans have traded QB Matt Schaub to Cleveland Browns for WR Josh Gordon and a 3rd round pick in 2014 NFL Draft."
umm..better be false -
ytownfootballTwitter hacked...it's false

wildcats20@TexansVoice: I've been hacked. No trade. Sorry for the craziness

Pick6T-Rich not doing anything again. Brown looks better than him. Lombardi/Banner looking more and more like geniuses as each week passes.
