2013 Cleveland Browns Thread: RIP Chud

IggyPride00Gordon is a freaking stud, and I am willing to live with the fact he has the possible ban hanging over him.
At only 22 years old he is already showing himself to be a difference maker and big play threat. All of 7 of his career TD's are over 20 yards I think the stat was.
Do Banner/Lombardi watch the games? The difference with this offense when he is on the field vs. not on the field is night and day.
I don't think you could replace his skill level with a late 1st round pick even if that's what SF offered.
We saw with Hoyer, you are always one snap away from missing the year. With Gordon it is just one slip up, but that is no reason to get rid of the guy.
If the plan is to draft a QB, wouldn't that QB look better with a legit #1 target to throw to instead of a rookie? It does nothing but set whoever is the QB up to fail. -
Commander of AwesomeTwitter is reporting a 2nd round pick gets the deal done for Gordon. So far, if rumors are true, the deal isn't done. Tells you a lot about what the league thinks of Gordon.
-
jmogI swear if they trade Gordon for a 2, I have watched my last Browns game this seaso at a MINIMUM.
-
SportsAndLadySecond rounder? That better be false.
-
MulvaRed flags really hurt trade value. See randy moss, brandon marshall, santonio holmes for recent wide receiver examples.
I wouldn't give up Gordon for a second (or a first, honestly). But those are the types of offers I would expect to see. -
RotinajI will be equally as pissed at Gordon as I will be at the front office if a trade goes down and we get shit. Its his damn fault that the front office is forced to even listen to offers.
-
sleeperI'd only do Gordon for a 1st and a 3rd on a bad team, or a 1st and a 2nd on a good team.
-
IggyPride00
The Broncos aren't looking to move Von Miller because he has the ax hanging over him, neither are the 49ers with Aldon Smith and his substance abuse problems.Rotinaj;1514544 wrote:I will be equally as pissed at Gordon as I will be at the front office if a trade goes down and we get shit. If he is lost for a year at some point it is what it is, but in the meantime he will keep playing at a near all-Pro level already while he's out there.
It sucks to be in this position, but at the same time the elite franchises aren't shopping their best players because they are scared of what may or may not happen as far as suspensions for their guys. -
lhslep134Sounds to me like the 49ers were the ones that contacted us, not the other way around
-
royal_kGordon for a second is quite laughable, despite his issues. I wouldn't even trade him for a high 1st right now. He's a legit #1 and those don't come along very often.
-
iclfan2Haha read that earlier. Barkevius Mingo's Mum is a hilarious fantasy team name.

Commander of Awesome"Defensive end Desmond Bryant said he's on medication to control his rapid heartbeat, which occurred Thursday night during the Bills game. He said he's confident doctors have it under control and that it won't happen again. It happened one other time, last season against the Raiders."
Can't wait for him to suspended for 4 games for not getting the medical approval to take the meds through the proper channels. -
Pick6
Being that he played for the Raiders last season, it's kind of hard to believe that the last time it happened was against them.Commander of Awesome;1514654 wrote:"Defensive end Desmond Bryant said he's on medication to control his rapid heartbeat, which occurred Thursday night during the Bills game. Pick6who'd a thought this guy went to Harvard? lol

BR1986FBAs far as the Grdon rumors goes, if teams are reaching out to the Browns inquiring about his availability, it's one thing, but if the Browns are actively shopping him, that's completely another story. If the Browns ARE shopping him, who's to say they know something we don't know? Maybe he hasn't changed his stripes and they see a potential one year ban coming his way from his behavior?
I wouldn't part with him for a low second rounder but I bet a lot of "don't trade him" people are going to change their tune to "we should've traded him" if he gets the one year ban. Just like a lot of the "omg...that T-Rich trade was horrible" people are now settling down to see it was a pretty good deal for the Browns. -

One of the most retarded things I've read.BR1986FB;1514791 wrote:As far as the Grdon rumors goes, if teams are reaching out to the Browns inquiring about his availability, it's one thing, but if the Browns are actively shopping him, that's completely another story. "if the browns are actively shopping him"
"if he gets the one year ban"
Chalk full of omplete assumptions/hypotheticals.
You're like the media, honestly. Instead of talking about the positives of a 1st place (at the moment) team, you're throwing random hypotheticals against the wall and trying to pass it as "news"
Just STFU, enjoy the winning record, and stop trying to make it seem like Josh Gordon is Aaron Hernandez off the field. -

I'm not throwing any "hypotheticals" against the wall. You don't know what the Hell is going on behind the scenes, nobody does. If the Niners reached out to the Browns, it's one thing but if the Browns ARE actively shopping the best offensive weapon that they've had since Braylon Edwards' fluke season in 2007, they have to have a reason.
I'm not even saying they ARE shopping him but IF they are, with the numbers he's putting up, there's got to be a reason. You don't just dangle game changing #1 receivers out there for no reason. -

Perhaps the reason they're shopping their WR is to stock-pile draft picks. I mean wouldn't that make sense?BR1986FB;1514806 wrote:Considering your posting history, you'd be the authority on retarded posts.

But no, you hear they're shopping Gordon, and you immediately throw it out there that he must not have changed and is still getting wild on purple drank on the weekend. It's pathetic.
And please, PLEASE stop believing every media report you hear. 90% of this shit is thrown out there for a reason, and is rarely true. -

Didn't you say you wouldn't trade him for 2 first round picks?SportsAndLady;1514811 wrote:Perhaps the reason they're shopping their WR is to stock-pile draft picks. I mean wouldn't that make sense?

BR1986FBAnd if he's an elite/game changing/#1 WR, no....shopping him to stock-pile picks would NOT make sense. Trent Richardson's are a dime a dozen. Game changing WR's like Gordon are not. You don't just dangle those type of guys out there. It's been hard enough finding a legit #1 since this team has returned. If they are in fact shopping him, it just doesn't make sense.
-
BR1986FBMay not last but it's been awhile since we've seen the Browns this high in anyones power rankings....

Yes, I wouldn't trade him for two firsts. My post wasn't to imply they should trade him to stock pile picks, I'm saying that if the regime is in fact putting him on the trading block, that's the logical reason as to why they are doing that. Not because they know he still has a purple drank problem.Commander of Awesome;1514847 wrote:Didn't you say you wouldn't trade him for 2 first round picks? -

I didn't say it would make sense. In fact I said they would be complete morons if they did trade him.BR1986FB;1514861 wrote:And if he's an elite/game changing/#1 WR, no....shopping him to stock-pile picks would NOT make sense.
