wes_mantootheh...still love Blackmon. He has Blaine Crapbert throwing to him...which may be worse than having Colt throwing to you
I loved the Gordon pick when they did it...because it was ballsy, hopefully he keeps developing -
MulvaI said it when the Browns took him, didn't see a real difference between getting Gordon and Stephen Hill. Big, physically talented but very raw receivers. Huge upside but a long way to go in terms of being a consistent every down guy. And now both had crucial drops last week.

Agreed. If he was with rg3 at Baylor he would have been a first rounder in the last draft easily. I'm glad he's a dumb ass -

Gordon is head and shoulders above Hill. Gordon has rust, Hill is raw v -

lol I was just about to gloat and say how much I disliked Blackmon and the guy had bust written all over him.wes_mantooth;1303766 wrote:eh...still love Blackmon. He has Blaine Crapbert throwing to him...which may be worse than having Colt throwing to you

SportsAndLadyWe as Browns fans can't really gloat about passing on one player for another player...we've made so many awful, awful picks subsequently followed by a pro bowler taken by another team.

BR1986FBAt least spell the guys' first name right, LOL. Other than that, nice article...

If Gordon plays last year and comes out in this draft, I bet he's the top WR pick, AHEAD of Blackmon. Leading up to the draft I heard "Blackmon MADE Weeden." I'm starting to think it was the other way around.wes_mantooth;1303766 wrote:eh...still love Blackmon. He has Blaine Crapbert throwing to him...which may be worse than having Colt throwing to you

I think there is a decent chance of him never producing in Jax. Not to mention, Wr is always a high risk/high reward thing. I thought Mike Williams(USC) was a sure fire hall of famer...lmaoCommander of Awesome;1303882 wrote:lol I was just about to gloat and say how much I disliked Blackmon and the guy had bust written all over him. -
OQBI wouldn't call Blackmon a bust yet, he is still only 7 games into his rookie season and is on arguably one of the worst teams in the NFL, with one of the worst QB's in the league....Still being the top WR taken in the draft I thought he would be having numbers like Gordon/Wright.
As for Gordon, I think being a supplemental draft pick none of us were expecting much this season....I thought he would just be the new Carlton Mitchell on the Browns roster. Surprisingly enough though he is producing and really making good progress for a guy that hasn't played football in over a year. He is off to a great start to his career, but I am willing to hold judgement until I start seeing him produce when defenses are focusing on him.
I think Richardson could really help in the development of Gordon and vice versa...If the coaching staff could just learn how to be balanced and utilize their players correctly, this offense could be pretty fun to watch. Instead, we have a coach who abandons the run early in the 1st half being down only by a max of 10 points, and then passes the ball 40+ times a game. -
BR1986FBIf Blackmon is a potential "elite" WR, the QB throwing him shouldn't be an issue. I'll give him a pass because he's a rookie and still has time to step up but good WR's (Reggie Wayne with Curtis Painter & Larry Fitz with Kolb/Skelton) will get theirs regardless of who is throwing them the ball. VERY glad we didn't take Blackmon.

BR1986FBEvan Silva (Rotoworld.com) was slobbering all over Josh Gordon & Brandon Weeden's jock this morning on Sirius XM saying "expect a lot of that deep ball to Gordon." Compared Gordon to Andre Johnson. Said Weeden was the "most improved player in the NFL since week 1." Ross Tucker, who hosts the show, was saying that Browns fans should be "drinking the Kool Aid" with these young guys. Said it's not going to happen immediately but with Haslam the direction should change.

To be honest, Weeden would have to be the most improved....he was the worst player I have ever seen in my life in week 1...lmao...kiddingBR1986FB;1303999 wrote:Evan Silva (Rotoworld.com) was slobbering all over Josh Gordon & Brandon Weeden's jock this morning on Sirius XM saying "expect a lot of that deep ball to Gordon." As for Gordon, as was very happy when they drafted him...even if it was too high. They found a guy they wanted and they got him. I have never hated on any organization for getting "their guy". -
BR1986FBGordon wasn't taken 'too high." Kid would've been a top 10 pick in the 2012 draft. Most of these analysts are saying he was a steal.

wes_mantoothmaybe, but there were some people that were pissed that they gave up a 2nd.

In hindsight, they look like idiots and I may have been one of them. :laugh:wes_mantooth;1304016 wrote:maybe, but there were some people that were pissed that they gave up a 2nd. -

I wasn't happy nor was I sold, but I am def eating my crow and I am ok with that. Cue Iggy's post about how 90% of cleveland fans rather have draft picks blah blah blah.wes_mantooth;1304016 wrote:maybe, but there were some people that were pissed that they gave up a 2nd. -

Yeah, if I recall, I think I said 4th rounder, maybe 3rd. Either way, glad I was wrong.like_that;1304022 wrote:I wasn't happy nor was I sold, but I am def eating my crow and I am ok with that. Cue Iggy's post about how 90% of cleveland fans rather have draft picks blah blah blah. -
OQBI will be more than happy to eat my crow if Gordon indeed turns out to be a great player for us.

Larry Fitz is 16th in yards T24th in tds. Still decent numbers but go look at them with Warner. I doubt there is a guy in the league that would put up pro bowl numbers with gabbert at QB. Now saying that, im glad we passed on Blackmon and LOVE the Gordon pick.BR1986FB;1303997 wrote:If Blackmon is a potential "elite" WR, the QB throwing him shouldn't be an issue. I was ok with it because they got their guy...and they usually just piss away their 2nd and 3rd rounders anyhow....fmllike_that;1304022 wrote:I wasn't happy nor was I sold, but I am def eating my crow and I am ok with that. I was talking about last years' numbers. He had 1400+ yards with Kolb & Skelton.Rotinaj;1304037 wrote:Larry Fitz is 16th in yards T24th in tds. Still decent numbers but go look at them with Warner. Yeah, wouldn't it be nice for a 2nd round WR to pan out (cough MoMass/Robiskie/maybe Little cough)?wes_mantooth;1304051 wrote:I was ok with it because they got their guy...and they usually just piss away their 2nd and 3rd rounders anyhow....fml
