As Pat Shurmur said about the playcalling though, "that's the fun stuff".

Making player decisions is one of the fun things of being in management, and I am sure Banner wants in on that action. Now that Haslam has given him the keys to the kingdom so to speak I can easily see him wanting to butt his way into personnel decisions.

Which leads back to my comment, if that's the case, we're fucked.

    Yep.

Bring on a new era!! Go Browns!

This just means heckert is gone and and banner doesn't want any moves that will affect the future. Smart on his part actually

Man, Andrew Luck is going to be a good one. I just think he is head and shoulders above the rest of the qbs in this draft.

I guess our D forgot the game started at 1

So does Shurmur make it through the season? If the Browns lose these next two I'd have no issue with Haslam canning him during the bye. I know Haslam said he'd ride him out through the season but I'd have no issue with him removing him early. :D

An even better question is, when is Trent going to be back to running with authority? Our running game was non-existant in that game, and I attribute the loss to that as opposed to Gordon's drop or our defense coming out slow.

I think he's still dinged up. Don't think he should've played yesterday.

Trich proving why you don't spend an early first on a RB. Hate to say it, but its true.

That still doesn't excuse the fact of how unbalanced we were....in the games where we are throwing 40+ times....we are 0-6. In the game we ran more than threw...we are 1-0.

Pretty simple really as to why we keep losing games.

I'm beginning to worry he is one of those guys that is just always going to have some kind of issue. Be it a knee, rib, ankle, shoulder, there will just always be some kind of ailment that has him perpetually banged up where you only get him at his max maybe 8-10 times a season with a few missed games and a few others like yesterday where it is borderline whether he should be playing or not.

I hope this is just a phase but man it is not promising right now.

Oh, I completely agree. I was ballistic when they went deep twice on 2nd & 1 and 3rd & 1. If Gordon catches the one pass Shurmur looks somewhat smart but they are still passing way too much.

This fucker is in "save my own skin" mode. He's been throwing players and now the defensive unit under the bus in his pressers. Look in the friggin mirror, a-hole. Your playcalling isn't making anyone forget Bill Walsh.

He does this weekly. It is always everyone elses fault.

All the more reason to pull the plug at the bye week so his negativity and overall loser vibe doesn't rub off on our younger players more than it already has.

He will be lucky to go back to being a position coach after his run with the Browns it has been that bad.

It is not even so much the losing with Shurmur as it is the outright incompetence that is most damning.

Phil Taylor returning to practice this week.

Would it make more sense to just sit TRich, let him heel and come back 100% healthy or close to it? Rather than waiting to see if he can play on Sunday and having a nagging injury the rest of the year? Am I looking too much into that portion?

Gordon makes that catch yesterday and we would be here celebrating a victory! FUCK!

Patty Fail would have still figured out a way to lose the game.

Via Twitter (to replace Heckert)...A name to keep in mind for possible replacement in Cleveland: Marc Ross, Giants Director of scouting. Worked with Banner In Philly.

Absolutely it make sense to let Trich sit til he is healthy. Hardest has finally been running hard, Trich no sense of banging him up this year. We are not winning a championship. I love Richardson but this is why I did not want a rob in the top 5. I was worried about injuries.

But I love the way Gordon is progressing. Dude is going to be a baller!
