Now my dream senecio would be sign manning and garçon (which could be a real good possibility if we sign manning with his ties to ne Ohio) draft Claiborne and the lb from bc with our firsts and our 2nd take either a de rt or safety. That would instantly make us a playoff team. There's like a 2% chance of this happening but it would be amazing if it happened -

If Peyton Manning goes anywhere, it would be a team that is on the door step of winning a title but needs a QB. Not a rebuilding project like Cleveland. Besides, Pat Shurmur would never relinquish the offense to Peyton Manning, which would be a prerequisite to anywhere he went. He would rather have someone running his system the way he wants it even if it means passing on someone with more talent. -

Get off the whole shurmer hating. He would change his offense for manning and he would for rg3. He didn't with McCoy bc it was an evaluation year to see if McCoy has it. Obviously McCoy sucks so why change your offense for a guy you know is not the future? I do agree Peyton won't sign here but I said it was a dream scenerio that won't happen -

Have you listened to Holmgren/Heckert? They believe in this system above all else. They will change for no one.
When thinking of any hypothetical scenario, that reality needs to be included. They have been crystal clear on their commitment to their system., because Holmgren thinks it is going to lead this team back to relevancy. -

The team has needs just as bad, if not more urgent than the QB. I'm skeptical on even picking Griffin 4th. Like I said, he is just too high risk. The Browns need both of their first round picks to get two "can't miss" players. Obviously they would make an exception for manning there not dumb. If we happen to get rg3 it wouldnt be the offense we saw this year. It will be the wco but a lot more shotgun. Obviously they would still be under center but they would use rg3 's talent to their advantage -

Exactly. If the Browns do their due diligence and feel he's the franchise guy, you do what you have to and get him. I have a feeling after the Combine and after they put this kid in front of a chalkboard they are going to be "wowwed" by him. Finished HS in 3 years. Finished his college degree in 3 years and is almost done with his Masters. This guy is no Vince Young 8 Wonderlic score. I agree with everything you wrote, but it seems like it would just be so out of character for them to all the sudden start taking big chances like that when the model has been slow and steady since Holmgren came to town.BR1986FB;1048700 wrote:Exactly. If they trade that 22nd pick, they have a new QB but still have no weapons around him and no running backs (since Hillis is being sent packing).
Developing him to be what they want is a huge risk, and I have seen nothing in Holmgren's 2+ years as Pres that tells me he is going to walk a tight rope like that when safer more sure options exist. -
