Kirk Cousins in the 4th or 5th to develop around a fa stop gap

I just think the price to get Flynn will be pretty high. I would anticipate the Packers franchising him if they think they can trade him.

That's risky. If nobody pays their price they are stuck with a $16 million cap hit when Aaron Rodgers is making about half that.

And NO MORE friggin "stopgap" QB's. I think Holmgren learned his lesson with Delhomme. We've seen enough of the Delhomme's, Garcia's, etc. Get a young guy worth building around and move forward.

With weapons a stop gap still makes you competitive. See Houston. Hell colt could be that stop gap for cousins

That's what I'm afraid of, I dont think Holmgren has learned his lesson.

It's a 3 year project, were in year 1.5...chill out.

It's like friggin Groundhog Day...bring in a shitty stopgap, he fails, rinse, repeat. The only time they've pulled the trigger on what could've been thought was a somewhat legit franchise QB was when they drafted Couch. The Quinn selection was dicey at best.

Would rather see a young guy, with upside, brought in than an over the hill (see Jason Campbell) QB on his last legs.

Agreed, it seems like he is insisting on molding an unheralded QB, since he did it with 2 QBs. The only difference is he was coaching when he molded the QBs, this time around he has patty boy who would have to try and mold the next QB.

That's why I've thought Flynn could be his target. Fits a similar bill to Hasselbeck & Favre. A stopgap wouldn't really be someone he'd "mold/groom."

Year one: take care of defense. Check
Year two: take care if offense. April
Year three:fill in holes. Next year

With three teams in the division already in the playoffs, they might want to expedite this process.

First Barkley, now maybe this? Looks like nobody wants to play for the Browns. ;)

When your prior regime drafted 3 busts in the second round, its hard to expedite the process. Unless of course you want a bunch of stop gaps

If they deem Flynn their franchise QB, he wouldn't be a stopgap.

I agree. My scenario of drafting Cousins is for when Washington and Miami outbid us of flynn. This off season and draft will adress the offense.

What is up with these\ QBs not wanting to come out? Seems dumb to me to play another year again and risk injury for Free. Plus staying another year almost never works in their favor see Leinhart. Luck stayed and was still the #1 pick, same with Bradford. Just don't see the benefit. Gotta leave the nest pussies.

Watching Cousins for most of his career, he's trash.

Cousins is awful...I wouldn't take him if he was an unsigned free agent

    So was Matt Flynn

    I agree completely.

    In comparison to Cousins?

Cousins looks better in college than Flynn ever did.

    That's your opinion, I disagree.

Afraid the Browns would draft them. :(
