The only thing I didn't like about the trade regarding the LAC is giving up that 1st round pick.

Other than that, I thought it was a very good trade for both teams involved.

Eric Gordon is a beast and will be a nice building piece for the Hornets. The Clips just signed Caron Butler, which is another solid move.

CP3 is going to make that team better just because of his court vision and play making ability. Aside from that, as Laley mentioned, the Clips are young and athletic and are a year better as well.
Bill Simmons made an interesting point about the #1 pick, since it's a protected one from the T-Wolves. Mainly that with Minn being a young team with some players, they could wind up being a bit better than horrible, so losing that pick isn't as bad as it could initially look to be.
Minny's pick might be overrated. The following teams have less talent on their roster: Cleveland, Toronto, Charlotte, Washington, New Orleans. The following teams MIGHT finish worse than them: Utah, Detroit, Sacramento, Golden State, Milwaukee, Denver (if it decides to rebuild for next season) and Houston (ditto). Also, the T-Wolves went from the league's worst coach (Kurt Rambis) to one of its most successful coaches of the past 20 years (Rick Adelman, who has a habit of getting teams to overachieve). And a nucleus of Kevin Love, Derrick Williams, Wesley Johnson, Ricky Rubio, J.J. Barea, Michael Beasley, Anthony Randolph, Anthony Tolliver, Luke Ridnour and the 18-Foul Center Monster (Darko Milicic, Brad Miller and Nikola Pekovic) is surprisingly solid. I hate going deeper than nine or 10 guys, but for this nightmare of a 66-game season, wouldn't you want a deep team with young legs? How many games will the T-Wolves steal just by being deeper and fresher?

But I knew it would go right over and thru your head.
I am concerned with grammar. I am not concerned with the spelling of a person's last name, however.

While Bill Simmons is entertaining to read, I think he is reaching a bit on how talented the T-Wolves could be. Ricky Rubio was disappointing the last 2 years in Spain, who knows what to expect from him now. Wesley Johnson looked so-so as a rookie. Michael Beasley is a mental case. Anthony Randolph has underachieved up to this point in his career. Derrick Williams is a 3/4 hybrid, still very questionable how effective he will be in the NBA. I would be shocked if the Wolves have much success this year.

I would like the Cavs to take a look at him.

That's a bitch move on the Nets part. Sign him in the off-season and then get rid of him

You forgot the part where Outlaw still gets paid.
  • Commander of Awesome
Its the best of both worlds for Outlaw, he gets paid by the nets and can sign with anyone he chooses. Thus drawing a double paycheck. He should feel salty (lol) that they're paying him not to play though.

Looking at their roster, I am not sure who he is going to take over his spot. Damion James? Outlaw started 55 games last year and put up 9 and 4 w/30% from 3's. I did read that they are looking at AK47 and they must feel like they are really close to finalizing it.

We finally know where Shawne Williams will be playing this season:

    [h=3]Shawne Williams Decides To Sign With Nets[/h]Dec 15, 2011 11:24 AM EST
Shawne Williams has decided to sign with the Nets instead of the Knicks, according to a source.
Williams took a two-year offer at $6 million from the Nets. New York could only offer $5 million.
Williams had a breakthrough in his career last season with the Knicks.

Only if he isn't claimed by another team. And I'm pretty sure if he is claimed and doesn't report to that team, he doesn't get paid. That was the case with Chauncey at least. Had he not reported to LAC, he didn't get anything from the amnesty "buyout."

Outlaw was bad last year. Shot like 37%. Nets are just cutting their losses.

This part isn't Free Agency news... but Celtics F Jeff Green will undergo heart surgery on Monday after an aortic aneurysm was detected in his physical. He is out for the season...

Looks like the Celtics may look towards bringing back James Posey or I'd expect them to go after Keith Bogans who was just released by the Bulls.

    :(

LaMarcus Aldridge and Chuck Hayes both have heart issues as well. Aldridge had some problems a few years ago, not sure about Hayes though. Haven't read anything about the seriousness for each of them(Green's seems like the worst so far) but hoping all of 3 of them can bounce back(w/o risking their lives) and continue their good careers.

Check out John Wall crossing over Evan Turner for the monster dunk. The sickest part is where his last dribble is and where he takes off. Sick athleticism.
  • ohiobucks1
Wall finished with 8 points. ET had 16 points and 7 rebs...

    Hope this helps
  • Midstate01
Thought it was funny that the dunk came when they were down 40, but you'd have thought it was game 7 of a playoff series by his reaction.

I love Evan turner, but wall will very very likely have the better career. But I do expect turner to have a better year this year.

I guess you haven't heard, Turner has already been labeled a bust on here by certain people.
  • Mulva
Wall will definitely have a better season than Turner this year. I still think ET will be a pretty solid player though. He should definitely be starting over Jodie Meeks. Brings way more overall value.

Turner ends up a bust if he doesn't become great. At least better than DeMarcus Cousins. However, the Sixers are professionals at drafting busts...

    LOL, what?

That is a very dumb statement.
  • robj55
Turner really played well at the end of the year and in the playoffs, he's going to be a very good player that contributes in all areas.
  • ohiobucks1
If turner averages 16-7 this season, people on here will still call him a bust. It defies logic...

I'd say that sounds about right, with about 3 assists and a steal a game.
