Cleveland Browns 2011 Super Awesome In-Season Thread
-
MulvaI love the righteous indignation from players every time something like that gets brought up.
Guess what guys, they were hoping you'd win until you started 0-10. At that point it's time to start looking to the future. I never root for the Browns to lose, but to act like you can't understand it is just dumb. -
like_thatSo, who starts the new Cleveland Browns thread after this week? I think it's safe to say Mr. Miyagi is out of the race, as he only brought us 4 wins.

Wasn't too bad at all..hoping that they start to get some wins going, so the resale value will go up a bit for the games I can't make.like_that;1029831 wrote:Would love to sit in a room and watch Mangini try to recruit a blue chip recruit.

BR1986FBInteresting comment was mentioned about the possibility of trading up to #1 with the Rams (if they get the top pick) to draft Luck. Some think that the Rams would request that Joe Thomas be part of that package with the thought being that Kalil might be gone when the Rams pick. Do you do this?
I don't. -
DeyDurkie5Very interesting..and I agree, I don't do that..Joe has stuck around cleveland in hopes of something good coming out of it, when he definitely could've bolted. I would love to give him a winner.

What do you do to protect that franchise QB's backside? I don't think the O-Line is as bad as many make it out to be (think McCoy holds onto the ball in a lot of cases too long) but without strong backside protection Luck probably would be living the life of Tim Couch.Commander of Awesome;1029922 wrote:Franchise QB > GOAT LT -

Yeah let's give up our best player, multiple top tier draft picks, to get a guy who has never proven anything.BR1986FB;1029912 wrote:Interesting comment was mentioned about the possibility of trading up to #1 with the Rams (if they get the top pick) to draft Luck. People are way too attached to the notion that Luck is the next Peyton Manning. Even if he is, I'd love to see Peyton Manning behind a Browns OL without Joe Thomas. -

Rams can go fuck themselves if that's what they are asking for.BR1986FB;1029912 wrote:Interesting comment was mentioned about the possibility of trading up to #1 with the Rams (if they get the top pick) to draft Luck. Commander of AwesomeIn this highly unlikely hypothetical situation I would easily trade Joe Thomas for any of the good QBs in this league. Theyre just more important. Just the way it is, I wouldn't want to trade Joe Thomas, as I think he's our best player and love that he signed an extension here.
If you don't have a good QB (which we don't) you can't win in this league. Plain and simple. -
Commander of AwesomeFor the unproven thing, I guess NY Giants shouldn't have taken a chance on Eli Manning since he was unproven? Carolina Panthers shouldn't have taken a chance on Cam Newton? Colts on Peyton, SD on Rivers, Packers on Rodgers? As a franchise you have take a shot on a QB and one as highly touted as Luck is as good of a bet as I've seen coming out of college.
