Cavs Continue to Roll in Preseason

It really doesn't matter, but don't say someone doesn't have a clue when it's pretty apparent that although he may be listed as a PF at times, he's truly the center.

I guess he only played the PF position last season was because he was playing along side Oberto? Only reason he is playing the PF this season is because of Blair? He's played PF his WHOLE career. Give it up.

This coming from the guy who said:

Which way is it? We have to list guys at their listed position, or the position they really play?

Of the guys I listed, Duncan is the ONLY guy that you can argue is not a center, which is fine. But he plays the center position. Oberto guarded the opposing teams PF.

Chad Ford on Cavs:
Predicted finish: 13 in East

Without Lebron, the Cavs are a hodgepodge collection of solid role players who will struggle to win 30. Can vets like Mo Williams, Anderson Varejao, Ramon Sessions and Antawn Jamison improve now that they're no longer under Lebron's shadow? Can Harrison Barnes save the team next year?

According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, "sources say numerous teams have inquired about [Anderson] Varejao, but the Cavs won't even entertain such talks unless they're getting a superstar in return."

1. Uh, in the NBA teams trade for guys all the time with no talent. (expiring contracts?) I mean why else would a team ever want to trade for Eddy Curry? But if you've paid attention lately his name has popped up in the 'Melo talks.

I'm not saying Varejao is on Curry's level. Varejao is solid. I never said he wasn't good, just that he is overpaid IMO. Hustle guys who get less than 7 rebounds per game over their career are a dime a dozen. Just making the point that teams trade for terrible players all the time.

2. Looks like Varejao is a Cavalier for life if they want a superstar in return. They could maybe pull off a deal for the toxic Gilbert Arenas with Varejao being the center piece, but they wouldn't get much more than Arenas

Heres the thing though, hes not listed as a PF "at times".....Tim Duncan is a PF. I dont care how often he guards the opposing teams center, the guy is a PF. I can understand that you dont want to give up on this argument but sometimes you have to lick your wounds and admit when you're wrong. Its not uncommon for players to guard opponents that dont play the same position, this stuff happens all the time.

Okay, he's a PF. Of all the things discussed on this thread, that's the one thing you can point out about me being wrong about.

As for Chad Ford, I really don't know much about him. Just saw his previews on Twitter and it's the first one I've read. He's obviously an idiot, as am I, because he doesn't think the Cavs have much talent.

+1. Chad Ford lost all credibility when he cited a server at a Chicago restaurant stating LeBron will be coming to Chicago. Might as well link us to the sports pickle, or some random nba forum.

I think Chad Ford was one of the guys who had a boner for Darko during the draft a few years back. If you look back and read some of his comments, they're pretty funny now

best darko comments ever hahah

Like I said above, I don't know anything about Chad Ford, but are we going to discredit him for being wrong about Lebron's destination? EVERY single analyst across the country had their "sources" who were telling them different things.
• thedynasty1998
That Darko video is the GOAT! I think he just became one of my favorite players!

No I am going to discredit him for being an idiot and actually quoting a SERVER at a Chicago restaurant.

Considering you "played college basketball" I would think you would know that. Sorry thats pitiful that you didn't know one of the greatest most celebrated player's position, and still claim to know enough about the NBA to try and argue with us.

for such a sports fan as you claim to be, I doubt you have never heard/read Chad Ford before either. This all part of your act, you start shit, talk out of your ass, get pwned then try to act innocent. I bet you make a gay joke for your next post after this whipping. do some reasearch, learn about the game/sport, asks some questions and get in on some intelligent conversations instead of coming on here on your high horse acting like Mr. Know-It-All.

That's comical. So, someone can be listed at SF, but really be a PG, according to you? Well IMO Tim Duncan is a C listed as a PF, and that's pretty much a fact. Don't be such a moron.

I never said I haven't heard of Chad Ford. Reading comprehension isn't taught in grad school? I said I don't know much about him, because I don't read his stuff. Most of his stuff is for insiders, and I'm not registered for it.

The only thing pitiful on here is your ignorance. You are just so predictable. You get cut by your HS basketball team as a freshman. You go home and cry to mom and the random guy who was around the house on that night and they convince you to go out for wrestling with all the other losers who weren't good enough. You get your ass kicked daily in wrestling practice, but walk around the school with you chest out wearing your varsity jacket, not knowing everything is laughing at you. Then you pretend like you are so much better than the players on the basketball team for four years that you get this sense that you know more about the game than the one's that actually play it. And now it carries over to a message board. It's really clear.

This is the funniest post on this thread.

2000/01: 3rd in NBA in rebounding, 4th in steals among PFs and centers
2001/02: 1st in NBA in rebounding, 1st in NBA in blocks, 2nd in steals among PFs and centers, 5th in minutes/game among centers
2002/03: 1st in NBA in rebounding, 2nd in NBA in blocks, 5th in steals among PFs and centers, 1st in minutes/game among centers

Pretty much a fact? Except that it isnt........the guy is a PF, if he was a center he would be listed as a center.

Tim Duncan is a fucking center, I don't give a shit what anybody says. I can choose to call my Ford Pinto a Lexus, and insist people call it a Lexus, but it doesn't make it a fucking Lexus. It's still a god damn Ford Pinto. Tim Duncan is a god damn center.

I think we are letting our general hatred for anything connected to LeBron color our judgement when it comes to the capacity of this years Cavs to make the play-offs or win 45-50 games. Eventually the Cavs will be back to respectability and will be a regular in the play-offs, but this season may be a learning year. I would say 35-40 wins would be a very successful start in the "Post LeBron" era. I think that 30-34 would be closer to the actual number of Cav victories this season. I hope I'm wrong.
