Cavs Continue to Roll in Preseason

Milwaukee proved they are good, even without Bogut. Brandon Jennings is only going to get better and they also have Redd back, who will get plenty of open looks.
Charlotte is more talented, IMO, than Cleveland.
Washington is a bit of an unknown, but they are a far better back court than the Cavs with Wall, Hinrich, Arenas and Young. -

The Bucks are solid, I'm not doubting that. I still want to see them repeat what they did last year first. They were able to sneak up on some teams last year.
Bobcats have some talent, I'm just not sure how much more they have than the Cavs
Wiz have a solid backcourt. I dont think Arenas will be in a Washington uniform after the deadline. Hinrich was a nice addition. Wall has potential to be solid but the kid is still a rook, I want to see it first -

Well judging by their record against us last year (with Lebron), I'd say they're definitely more talented than us. Even if they're not, they're a better team. -
sleeperthedynasty1998;525617 wrote:No they are not. Look at the record of the 8 seed in the East compared to the 8 seed in the West last year. The Cavs could very well make the playoffs as low seed this year in the East, but wouldn't sniff the playoffs in the West.
As for this topic, I wonder if it's one of those SQ threads that just doesn't seem to go away?
I do think the Cavs are better than some people think, but they will have their struggles.
The West also has 6 of the 8 WORST teams in the NBA to pump up the playoff teams record. You can't have it both ways, and record doesn't always indicate strength. -

We havent seen this team play without Lebron under the new system. Cavs are just as much of an unkown as any other team imo. Its going to be a totally different style of basketball, I'm curious to see how the Cavs adapt to the changes.......as always, I'm cautiously optimistic -

Yes and no. Some of the other teams added players, so you wonder how they will gel. But you know what the Cavs have. Sure you question how they will adapt without Lebron, but the talent remains the same. -

Comparing NFL preseason with NBA preseason is an epic fail.jordo212000;525606 wrote:Going back to Footwedge's original point... the Colts never win in the preseason. I'm guessing the always finish in last place, right? But I digress.
The Cavs will play a more team oriented style, but that doesn't mean they will be more successful. To be a good team in the NBA you have to have a guy like Lebron who dominates the ball from time to time. Especially on a team like Cleveland. The "let's share the ball and sing Kum Bay Yah" approach works at Duke, but it rarely works in the NBA. When the chips are down and NBA player start caring in the 4th quarter they ratchet up their defense and guys like Mo Williams and Boobie Gibson have to create their own shot. They're not going to be able to do that with the team's best perimeter defender on them. Let's not discount the fact that Lebron always had the best defender on him. Now those guys are going to be on Mo and everybody else. -
FootwedgeLebron is still the GOAT. Albeit a traitorous GOAT. Hoever, anyone that flapped their gums that ths team willl only win 25 games are ignoramuses. you collectively don't know shit about pro hoops.
Cavs will be the fifth or sixth seed. And Sleeper...you can take that shit to the mofoin' bank. -
FootwedgeKR1245;525843 wrote:Manny needs to work on his jumper a bit. Hes an above average defender with some decent size, I think that will help him get some minutes seeing as how he is now the tallest guy in the Cavs backcourt. I'm glad that they kept him over Green.
Manny being Manny, that's all. -

I am really curious to see the offense now. I loved watching the Cavs in transition when Pippen was here, but they were awful to watch in the halfcourt. -
Timber^^^^ Pippen?

I agree with that as well....I am interested to see how Melo would be in that system. Seems like he would really flourish. -

So who in the East do they beat out? -

Kinda thought that was where it was coming from.... I have not spent any time reading much about post Bron. Too little free time to care about him.... I was not sure what he was going by these days... lol. I look forward to watching the Cavs play this year, it should be fun to see an entirely new "team" concept. -

It's really hard to tell at this point, but when's the last time Cleveland has won a game without Lebron? Like I said, its not a talent problem, but its the type of talent, as in all the players on that team are built to play with a ball dominating guy, and Mo Williams is not that guy.
I think 25 games is being generous, and no, preseason doesn't mean jack. -
jordo212000Bill Simmons picked the under today for the Cavs. Thinks they'll win less than 29.
-
hoops23Bill Simmons also said the Yankees were about to run away with the series last night after they took a 3-2 lead.

They're a mortal lock to lose 45 (maybe 50). -

Show me the money. I love gambling. I say they win 45...you say they lose 45. Cut it to the chase. Make the line 41....how much?queencitybuckeye;526433 wrote:They're a mortal lock to lose 45 (maybe 50). -

Other than Miami, Boston, and Orlando, there are no teams better on paper than the cavs...and that includes the bulls, Hawks and Bucks.thedynasty1998;526193 wrote:So who in the East do they beat out? -

Bill Simmons has been predicting that the Yankees will win for the past like 3 games. Just look at his twitter feed. Looks like he will finally be right tonight, though.
