Add me to the group of people who thinks Varejao is wildly overpaid.
Mo Williams was "the guy" on a bad Bucks team. They ended up trading him to Cleveland for $0.10 on the dollar because he was shooting them out of the game (and providing subpar defense)
I love Hickson's game though. He is going to have a breakout year. Will it be enough to push them over the playoff hump though? -

The east is so horrible, I think the Cavs have a decent shot at making the playoffs, though I almost wish we'd just win 17 games again and get the next stud superstar instead of becoming the indiana pacers. -

I dont think its a bad contract.
He didn't sign for 50 million. He signed for around 32 million or so. The 18 other million are in performance bonuses. Some as silly as win MVP.
it's 6 years 42.5 million with a team option for the 6th year so 7 million a year for a guy who gives you 1000 percent on the court every night hustles annoys other teams puts his body on the line every night.
Look at other bad contracts like Brian Cardinal, Eric Dampier, Charlie Villa, Rashard Lewis, Zach Randolph, AK47, Keynon Freaking Martin, Joe Johnson, Jermaine O'niel, Shaq, Hedo's, etc... Sorry not even close to one of the worst contracts, in fact I think its pretty solid. Way to do your homework and understand how the NBA works. -

Where did anyone say his contract is the WORST? Reading comprehension. And he doesn't even have the worst contract on the roster. Jamison owns that title. But according to your logic, they are under the cap, so who cares...

Lol the only reason he was up for any type of an award is because of how good the Cavs TEAM was thanks to LBJ. Had the Cavs been a middle of the road team(like they will be this year) He wouldnt of even sniffed DPLOY or 6th man -

I think it's a mistake and they should be jettisoning every asset they have--but they will not be awful this year. -

I agree they should go into all out rebuild mode. I think they want to at least be decent to keep fans interested after the whole offseason. If they were to win 10 games this year after lebron screwed them, I think casual fans wouldn't pay attention anymore. So while logical fans know they should tank to be better in the long run, they won't, at least not this year. -

Harrison Barnes,Fabricio De Melo, Kyrie Irving, Brandon Knight, Enes Kanter and Josh Selby are all potential lottery picks waiting to happen. Most of em have videos on youtube -

This still might happen. If Mo and Jamison put up the numbers midway through the season (hopefully not many wins come along with it), then some teams in contention might be willing to make a trade to the cavs. Heck some team might even want Varejao's hustle. The cavs definitely have some pieces they would trade away, even if they are lower draft picks, they could package those picks into better picks. -
