I would love to see the Cavs someone just make it into the playoffs and get the chance to play Miami first round.....

You claim to be a Cavs fan and yet every time you post on a Cavs thread its something negative. The Cavs could pull off a mega trade that would bring them CP3 and Melo and you still wouldnt be happy......."they still dont have a big man" It kinda gets old, its the same thing Capone does with the Browns threads, you might as well add the "hahahahah" at the end of your posts and make it official.
Oh man, big +1 from me, however he's just going to bitch and moan and ask for "proof" and "SHOW ME WAAAA!!!" then when you pwn him and show him, he wont post in the thread until its on the next page so he can ignore it like a little girl. Its his typical calling card.

Then he will say that he is going to "ignore" you. In translation he will respond to a couple more posts, then wait about a few days to respond to your posts again.

Okay, I'm a Lebron fan. I've stated numerous times that I was more of a Lebron fan than Cavs fan. I won't watch many Cleveland games this year. Does that mean I can't express my opinions concerning the Cavs? If they got Chris Paul or Carmelo I'd be shocked, because they don't have the trade bait (something I said time and time again when people thought the Cavs were going to land Chris Paul).

I don't know what I have said on this thread that was not a supported opinion. If you don't like what I say, then how about having a discussion about it rather than the garbage you posted.

Unlike others on here who make up awards and make claims that a player wins it when they weren't even in the top 5. At least I know what I'm talking about more often than not.

Yeah I mean, obviously CP3 was a pipe dream. dynasty just announced it to everybody. I can see where Cavs fans are coming from (in regards to their opinion of dynasty) but he has been pretty right on all along.

6 pts, 4 boards. He's a bargain at 7 mill per season though!

You guys were giving the OP shit for talking about preseason, but yet you guys are throwing out preseason stats. Interesting.

I was using the CP3 and Melo trade as a hypothetical situation. The point that I was trying to make is that no matter what the Cavs do you always find a way to put a negative spin on things. Its get pretty damn annoying. I'm not going to take it to the level of COA but I can certainly see where hes coming from. Its tough to have a discussion with you about the Cavs because regardless of what they do its a mistake......

Quite a few of you were insisting that pre season means something....so it must. Varejao's numbers are gonna nose dive withotu LBJ to set him up with all those pick and roll dunks

True. But his preseason stats are pretty close to the stats he has always put in the regular season. I think we both found this funny after the conversation everybody was having earlier in the day.

Besides, footwedge has already pwned me with all of his "preseason means something" posts.

NBA pre season obviously means something. If it didnt Danny Green would still have a job

Not me, I love the cavs, but I thought the OP was dumb. Just making a point that your posts are kind of hypocritical.

Didndt feel like going back and sifting through the pages of BS to find out who said pre season means something, my mistake

But the point wasnt that it costs people jobs, thats obvious with any sports pre season. The main point of this thread was to say how well the cavs are playing in the pre season so they must be geared up to make a run in the regular season.

Orlando hasn't lost a preseason game in like 3 years. More impressive than the lakers regular season streak? I think so!!!

It means nothing as far as records go. I dont think it is quite as pointless as the NFL preseason though.

So now instead of playing 6 minutes per game with Cleveland, Danny Green is going to play 6 minutes a game for somebody else :)

That's not what we're talking about. The point of the OP was that because Cleveland had won some preseason games that do not mean anything and that nobody takes seriously... they were also going to win regular season games when other teams play their starters for extended periods and actually care about the outcome

On a more serious note.....It looks like Joe Tait is going to have to undergo heart procedures. I was hoping he would recover from pneumonia and return for the season opener. I hope he gets well soon.

Cleveland, Ohio -- The Cleveland Cavaliers have updated the health status of the team's play-by-play radio announcer, Joe Tait.

    From the Cavaliers' update

Cavaliers Hall of Fame radio announcer Joe Tait has been resting and receiving treatment for pneumonia since returning home from Houston, where he was hospitalized last week. As Joe continues to recover from pneumonia, he recently underwent a series of tests on his heart at The Cleveland Clinic locally. It has been determined that Joe is experiencing aortic stenosis and will soon undergo procedures on his heart to replace a valve and address other heart related concerns. These procedures will be conducted upon Joe's further recovery from pneumonia.

At this time, no exact timetable has been established for Joe's return to game broadcasts, but he is expected to be out at least through the rest of 2010. Updates on Joe will be provided as appropriate. Joe is in very good spirits and wanted to again thank the fans for their outpouring of support and concern for him during this time and he looks forward to getting back behind the mic as soon as he is able.

The Cavs SHOULD NOT go into a full on tank/rebuild. Many teams try this route and end up never recovering. The NBA draft is a crap shoot and not a guarantee of anything.

You could finish with the worst record in the NBA and still end up with the 10th pick.

Besides, players like LeBron are few and FAR between. Harrison Barnes is gonna be nice, but the odds of the Cavs getting the #1 pick again are remote.

The Cavs will need to build a team through the draft and trade. Not full out one way or the other.

Also, I still laugh at people who claim the Cavs have no talent. I'm also starting to believe that the Dynasty and Jordo are the same people. Either that, or they are lovers.

I could see them trading Jamison for an expiring and possibly a draft pick.
Cavs are also rumored to be getting some calls about Andy
  • Hb31187
The Cavs are in the worst position there is really. Good enough to not be a bottom feeder and get a top draft pick to have a chance to land a stud. And not good enough to compete for a title...its kinda lose lose, Unless they package some expiring contracts to move up int he draft
  • jordo212000
Yeah they definitely shouldn't tank. Tankers rarely get rewarded (cough cough Nets) and like others have said, if they don't make the playoffs, they can still conceivably get the top pick even if they don't finish in last. And then if they do make the playoffs, that's gravy, and a successful season.

Obviously two people on a message board who do not share your opinion are always the same people smh. We've been down this road before hoops. I've been more right than wrong in regards to Cavalier basketball. Not sure you can say the same.

I think thats exactly what they will do. They will probably try to take on some expiring contracts and get as many draft picks as possible. It would be nice to have multiple 1st round picks

I think they will try and compete this season, if they are in the playoff hunt then that's cool, but if not I see them having a fire sale and dealing the veterans to playoff teams for expiring contracts and draft picks
