As much as QO QQs on here the research in the article came from Pew if I am not mistaken.ptown_trojans_1;1800202 wrote:I don't have the time nor patience to deal with your stupidity.
Just use more credible polling or research sites, like Pew instead of some right wing hack sites.
Whats your excuse/rant now ptown? -

D.C. and New York blame PA and Virginia.
Hawaii has the strictest gun control in the nation, no neighboring states with lax gun control and has the least gun violence. And, all of those regulations comply with the 2nd Amendment and people are still able to own guns if they go through the regulatory hoops.
A pretty solid experiment IMHO but at this point really in America the cat is out of the bag. -
ptown_trojans_1Does anybody around here do some freaking research? Or, do you all just parrot talking points?
The reference to Pew was from a 2007 study, in which the article, not surprisingly, takes liberty with the data. (Funny, how the article didn't actually link to the Pew study.)
No where is mentioned Sharia or the words listed in the article
http://www.pewresearch.org/files/old-assets/pdf/muslim-americans.pdf
Also, there was a 2011 survey/ reports that adds to and actually builds on the study from 2007.
http://www.people-press.org/2011/08/30/muslim-americans-no-signs-of-growth-in-alienation-or-support-for-extremism/
That study says, "Muslim Americans: No Signs of Growth in Alienation or Support for Extremism."
Yet, let's continue to trust shit from right wing websites. -

It's 3rd in murder rate, behind Vermont and NH and just ahead of ND. So maybe there's other factors, such as less gangs.BoatShoes;1800294 wrote: Hawaii has the strictest gun control in the nation, no neighboring states with lax gun control and has the least gun violence. -
iclfan2Obama administration now omitting ISIS and allah from the fbi transcripts. Would anyone like to defend this? Very strange.

I'm not really sure why he would. But honestly, we all know the shooter had ties. Does it matter if it's omitted at this point?iclfan2;1800768 wrote:Obama administration now omitting ISIS and allah from the fbi transcripts. Would anyone like to defend this? Very strange.

It matters because it is like the current administration is trying to hide the fact or ignore the fact that he was a radical islamist. I also find censorship to be stupid.raiderbuck;1800813 wrote:Does it matter if it's omitted at this point? -

No spin. The names should not have been redacted.like_that;1800819 wrote:Would love to see ptowns spin.
Doesn't look good though for "transparency."
The only thing I can even think he is named someone specifically. But, that doesn't justify omitting the name as most of the names are in the public sphere. -
queencitybuckeyeSo if he had blown up the place instead, would it be a terrorist act, a hate crime, or would the administration just kind of ignore it since because guns?

Uhh yeah. They would have. Not sure what your getting at.queencitybuckeye;1800824 wrote:So if he had blown up the place instead, would it be a terrorist act, a hate crime, or would the administration just kind of ignore it since because guns?
Still would be called a terrorist act and hate crime.
They would not have ignored it. -

Why are they spending all of their time on guns, and zero on terrorism and hate crimes? Political bogeyman?ptown_trojans_1;1800831 wrote:Uhh yeah. They would have. Not sure what your getting at.

At this point, don't we already know that we are at war with ISIS or ISIL or whatever? I mean, do we really need to hear the name of the enemy every time? I'm really asking, I'm not trying to put a spin on this or anything. I don't need to be constantly reminded that ISIS is behind or taking responsibility for an attack. It doesn't make me feel any better about what happened.iclfan2;1800816 wrote:It matters because it is like the current administration is trying to hide the fact or ignore the fact that he was a radical islamist. And I know people will say "oh well, if the President doesn't say it, then he's trying to hide something!" And I say...why? What evidence points to him not believing that this jackhole wasn't worshiping radical Islam? And even if he does say it, will it stop people from criticizing his approach? Will it make you feel better knowing that "yep, they still hate us!"? So I ask again...what's the point? We know who the enemy is, we've been fighting them for flipping decades. Why does this one thing matter?
If anything is being covered up, it's why radical Islam hates us in the first place... -

Philip Haney book“See Something Say Nothing” holds the answer. ...moreso, the fact that Mid East foreign policy and specifically ISIS has been a disaster. The last thing, in an election year especially, is to admit failure, and that is why we have not only the reluctance, but the active manipulation of the media and semantics to keep the focus away from the abject failure of Mid East foreign policy. Just to connect radical Islam with attacks, not only on allies (France, Belgium,Israel), but on our homeland itself, is to be avoided at all costs. If anything is being covered up, it's why radical Islam hates us in the first place...
Remember, just a few years ago, Isis was contained....a "JV team". That the JV team is scoring regularly against us is not something that they are willing to politically admit.
What we have going on is nothing more than sleight of hand...a magician's technique designed to make you think something else happening, when in reality something else is going on. While you are focusing on what the magician wants you to follow, he completes the trick. The trick here, of course, is to hide from us his responsibility, the responsibility of his party, and the responsibility of a former SOS who's now the presumptive nominee, and their failure for allowing this to be perpetrated on our own soil.
The sleight of hand is to not connect the terms "radical Islam" with attacks on American soil, and to characterize these attacks a something else...."domestic terrorism" or "mass shooting".....and to direct the focus away....guns being the perfect focal point to divert the attention of his supporters with the help of a compliant media.
GWB owns a lot of things....he owns failure of preventing the attack on the Twin towers, the subsequent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He owns blowing the follow up to taking out Saddam. But when he left office, Iraq and Afghanistan were at least stable....and Alqaeda was pinned down and ISIS did not exist.
The rest belongs to BHO, and it's not pretty. He and his SOS blew the Arab Spring....they withdrew from Iraq against the recommendations of his military advisors....they telegraphed our withdrawal from the region publicizing our timetable., and then they ignored the growing threat from radical elements. Instead of having our foot on the neck of radical elements in a far off foreign land, those elements were allowed to grow and fester, their capabilities increased to the point where they are able to carry out attacks on us and our allies. They have adapted and are diffuse and hard to locate. They are able to recruit and radicalize our own citizens.
This is the responsibility that they work so hard to hide. We aren't supposed to look at this as a radicalized muslim American who committed an act of terrorism is support of radical Islamic groups... we are to believe this was a "domestic terrorist" who executed a "mass shooting" because he was able to get a gun, and that responsibility belongs to the NRA and the GOP.
Beware the sleight of hand....and keep your eye on the ball. -
