Duck Dynasty, will Phil's interview doom the show?

Manhattan Buckeye"If I had a television show and went on a rant about how capitalism was awful and the US should be communist I wouldn't expect to be on the air long."
Perhaps not, but you could be a tenured angry studies professor at most universities. -
Big_Mirg_ZHSHmm , dont agree but thats just like his opinion, man. Also I do boycott chick fil a. Never been there never will.

Manhattan BuckeyeIf you haven't been to chik fil a you don't know what you are missing. They make a very tasty bird.

Back to the point of the thread, my wife's personal trainer only trains women. She actively discriminates against men. Is she a bigot?
If I asked her to train me, and she refuses should I sue her? -
ZombaypiratePhil has been released from the show. Just caught that this morning.

are you dense? Its there right to believe what they want, its also my right to believe what I want. Thats all there is to it. -
Manhattan BuckeyeNo, I'm not dense. You're the one that threw out the bigot card. Is my wife's personal trainer a bigot? I don't know much about these duck people but my guess is they sell their products to all. My wife's personal trainer actively discriminates against me. Who is the bigger bigot?

Well MSNBC did get rid of Martin Bashir because he said someone should shit on Sarah Palin so it does happen to liberal idiots as well.gut;1555161 wrote:And a guest contributor at MSNBC! -

Yeah, but that probably had more to do with his chosen language rather than the target - if a Fox news person said something similar about H.R. Clinton they'd be canned, the political opinion wasn't really an issue.pmoney25;1555174 wrote:Well MSNBC did get rid of Martin Bashir because he said someone should shit on Sarah Palin so it does happen to liberal idiots as well. -

Interesting. You understand that the owner of Chick-Fil-A and Mr. Robertson are basically on the same side, correct?Big_Mirg_ZHS;1555159 wrote:Hmm , dont agree but thats just like his opinion, man. Also I do boycott chick fil a. Never been there never will. -

We're sort of joking about this, but it is true. I have no idea what this guy said was in any way objectionable. If a lesbian said, "I don't know why any woman would want anything to do with [fill in the blank but it involves a male organ], I find it disgusting." - that woman would be paraded around every Ivy League campus and would give speeches to the GLBT community, and if any straight (especially caucasian) guy objected they'd be laughed at (for good reason).believer;1555176 wrote:lol I just about spewed my morning coffee out my nose on that one! quite true, sir
The double standard is ridiculous. -

Who gives a shit? Does anyone watching the show really think they like gays? They're religious people so it goes without saying they don't like gay people. "What's more, according to him, it's basically incomprehensible. "It seems to me, a vagina ā as a man ā would be more desirable than a man's anus," he explained. "That's just me. I'm just thinking, 'There's more there! She's got more to offer.' I mean, come on, dudes! You know what Iām saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."
Take a read at the article. Will it change their "dynasty"?
..or will people stand up and say that they are finally glad that someone "famous" has stood up and said what many believe but are afraid to be villified?
I am not afraid to say that I agree with him.
I bet they'd offend more people if he came out and said he supported the gays. -

like_thatI am not against gays, but I don't really see the problem with what he said. It's not like it was something derogatory. Now if he pulled a Kobe Bryant and drop the "***" line, then sure I can see people getting their panties in a bunch. Getting upset over a guy saying he prefers vagina over a mans anus is completely idiotic. Why is our country full of butt hurt people. Grow some thicker skin.
It's hilarious how no one bitches when words fit their agenda. -
Manhattan BuckeyeI suppose if I was honest and said I preferred big boobed women to small boobed women I'd be labeled a breastist.
-
iclfan2Lefty's are always preaching tolerance, of course that's only if your opinion is the same as theirs. Where is the "tolerance" for the Christian viewpoint. You can't pick and choose what people should be tolerant about.

In general I agree with you. OTOH, the part where he places homosexuality along side of bestiality would normally make me wish both cancer and death by fire on him. However, as it's the holiday season, I'd settle for one or the other.like_that;1555183 wrote:I am not against gays, but I don't really see the problem with what he said. oh my God, you want him to work for a wall street law firm with death by file! -
pmoney25When did all you guys choose to prefer vagina?
I remember drawing up a list of pros/cons, going to the library and doing a ton of research and based off my research I realized I was attracted to vagina. It was a tough decision but I feel it was the right decision.
As for what he said, I'm all for freedom of speech but also for A&E to do what they feel is best for them. -
pmoney25I do also agree that people are too easily offended nowadays

And that's the crux of it. People who are part of "protected classes", be it race, nationality, gender, religious views deal with discrimination all of the time.pmoney25;1555192 wrote:I do also agree that people are too easily offended nowadays
How often do you hear someone make anti-Christian remarks? But for some reason GLAAD thinks they are special? They aren't.
