I think that question has the same answer as is the answer to the question do all Christians have the same biblical interpretation and view across all books of the Bible?

You don't think if someone compared Christians or black people or another sizeable group to bestiality that there would be a pushback?

How do you jump to the idea that I think I'm special?
Apparently you are if you are even remotely offended by his comments. Christians have been targeted as villains for years by "legitimate" media and government sources as much worse. Some of it might be parody, some not.

IWP, are you actually offended by what that guy said? Really?

Has anyone ever interpreted the bible to say it accepts gays?

Yeah I mean there are Christian groups out there who seem to almost exclusively talk about how being gay is the worst thing ever and then there are groups who are perfectly fine with gay people. Hell even the Pope lately has been all "guys let's ease up on the gay people and try to help poor people instead".
  • Mooney44Cards
LOL at Christians being persecuted when they make up a huge majority of the most powerful nation in the history of the world. It is the de facto national religion of the United States. Nobody is persecuting you. There is no war on Christmas, a single day that has grown to take up 2 whole months of the year in this country.

Not sure whats worse, Christians complaining that Christians are persecuted or white people complaining that white people are being treated unfairly.

I agree with the pope. Let's not focus on fixing sin, but only present the word given in the Bible to people. Our job on earth is not to fix sin, but to live like Christ, and deliver the gospel. If you get to the pearly gates, St. Peter won't be asking you how much sin you fixed, rather, he will be asking you if you lived for Christ.

    I think so but I don't know.

I'm not exactly sure by what you mean by "it accepts".

White males are the most discriminated against demographic.

opposite of rejects, like millions of people claim it does. Truth is, people are ignorant to think he didn't have this view since they knew his religion.

Please show me where the government targets Christians in a way that is worse than saying they fuck animals.

And I'm not at all offended by the preference statement, that's his opinion so whatever. I take issue with having my relationship being called a sin, don't know if I'd say I'm offended but I don't like being thought of as being against an all powerful and all good creator who in his wisdom might choose to damn me to an eternity of fiery torture because of who I fall in love with.

If he was actually comparing being gay to bestiality or terrorism than yes, I'm offended by that. I don't fuck my dog and I'm not killing a bunch of people so I think it's reasonable to be offended by that comparison. But some people have interpreted it as just him listing some other sins instead of a comparison so then that would put it back into my first point of me disagreeing but not necessarily being offended.

The act (not the person), not to my knowledge.

More interesting to me is that so many of those wearing their religion on their sleeve like to tell us that "sin is sin", yet the only one they almost invariably bring up is homosexuality. Seems like a bit of hypocrisy there, which is also a sin incidentally.

" I take issue with having my relationship being called a sin,"

Then get over yourself. Other behaviors are considered sins as well. I don't care that my parents think it is a sin that my wife and I drink wine at dinner. Why do you care or make an issue out of this? People will not always agree with you. That is the end of the story.

Well I mean Christians are supposed to love like Jesus and he was definitely gay so I'm not sure where Christians get off calling it wrong.

I know what "accepts" means. Lol. Go back and read your sentence. What do you mean by "it"? What's it? The Bible? God.

Who said people think he didn't have this view?

It would appear, however, that A&E think views don't choose to have such beliefs clarified with his particular interpretation. Right or wrong A&E is making a business decision based on that type of understanding.

IMO F all religions and those that get offended when others talk. If someone can say gay is ok then someone can say its wrong. I do feel the Network has every right to do what they did though, it's their show! I'm just so tired of weak people and those that continue to use religion to defend themselves as well. I mean doesn't the church teach to love and respect all? The most hypocritical thing in the world is religion, worse than the damn NCAA!

"I don't agree with you" is very much different than "what you are doing is a sin". Sin is something that people have to answer to God for and is something that arguably gets you sent to hell.

"I don't like Arby's" holds a different connotation than "To eat Arby's is a sin".

You don't find it a bit disconcerting that your parents think you're committing a crime against God by having a beer? I'm not saying you should fight them on it in their house or anything but it's not the same thing as them simply not liking it.

Maybe? Dude was born in a barn with a bunch of animals.

But it he was definitely gay. Dude with daddy issues, unmarried into his 30's. Hangs around with 12 dudes, washes their feet and at dinner wants everyone to pretend the bread is his body and to eat it? C'mon now.

    Agreed.

I would equate hypocrisy as possibly being sinful.

None of us are without sin. None more perfect than the other. Pointing out another sin can only be beneficial if it helps clarify in yourself that which should be continuously tried to be avoided. I find it shouldn't really be about the other person but rather bout yourself.

Do i need to explain how the word 'it' works? It takes the place of the noun in the sentence, which is 'Bible'
