    i only ran 3 today. I usually keep it between 3-6. Don't think my cortisol will be spiked from that. I like the effects of mid range cardio, I like having a resting heart rate between 52-64.

    Yoga tonight. Sprints tomorrow afternoon, abs & legs tomorrow night.

    I jogged only bc I said I wouldn't. I hate the concrete and asphalt. I hate jogging. Loathe it.

    Sounds great, and I have nothing against burning fat, but any implication that there is a cardio replacement for a sustained elevation in heart rate is factually inaccurate, unless one's goal is to leave a great looking corpse.

    Says you. Quite a few recent studies have shown that sustained cardio isn't quite what you're cracking it up to be for the body.

    And sprints aren't taxing on the heart? Helluva lot more effort is going into upping the heart rate with a sprint than a slow (yawn) jog.

    Need to do a little more research. Times have changed SIGNIFICANTLY with your mode of thinking but keep on beating your body to death with those long, boring runs.

    Who said anything about long runs? 30 good minutes are plenty. The one thing new studies often do is end up confirming that the old ones were right all along. There are a number of studies you conveniently omit that are doing exactly that.
