Ive never done either P90 or P90X2, but I am not sure that one would want to skip P90X.fan_from_texas;1461022 wrote:No. How long are the workouts? -

Not when you add in an ripper and pre-post stretching. 90 min yoga? No thanks. -

Yoga in P90 is 4 minutes, I think. The ab ripper is under 5 minutes. You must be thinking of P90X. -

Yes. P90X -

Yep, I agree that's too long. That's why I do regular P90, which is a shorter version of it. -

The people making those recommendations are wrong.Sonofanump;1461011 wrote:Yeah weights are not recommended for those under 12 years old and over 78 years old.
Beginning to lift before puberty is when the body will have the greatest benefits. Train the muscles while still growing. -
BR1986FBFour day split emphasizing heavy compound movements with sprints, weighted prowler pushes, farmers walk and walking mixed in for "cardio." Nothing will shed lean muscle off of you and make you "skinny fat" like running for excessive distances.

HereticI do basically a homebrew sort of workout regiment that works great for me, but might not for many people since it takes (1) time and (2) drugs.
Tends to involve me catching a buzz, putting on some tunes and doing a combinations of a lot of light-weight (20 lbs) dumbbell work, some isometric stuff with cords and, in general, bouncing around and being active for 1.5 to 2 hours in the evening.
I guess the "catch a buzz" part might not be essential, but it helps me get in the mood to zone out and just let time fly while exercising, so it'd be interesting to see what not having one would do to my motivation after the first half hour or so, since my attention span can be a bit lacking at times. -

Exactly. No doubt this is what happens when a father knows what they are doing when the child is still growing.

lol. You don't get it.
I know Bo started lifting and doing pull ups at an early age. His dad admits he has a notebook where he's kept count of every push up and sit up Bo has done.....pretty sure the video is on Flowrestling if you were interested.
I'm creepy. lol....any other dad's have a notebook where they kept track of every push up and sit up their son has done since a certain age? -

Why are you getting defensive? A PM wasn't necessary.said_aouita;1461126 wrote:Exactly. No doubt this is what happens when a father knows what they are doing when the child is still growing.

Most are about an hour. Yoga is longer, but I did not do that one. I used that as a running day or rest and recovery. When you add ab ripper x on after the workouts add 15 mins. It is a commit but it does work.fan_from_texas;1461022 wrote:No. How long are the workouts? -
BR1986FBYeah, P90X defintely works as does Insanity, but I outgrew P90X after 5 rounds. It's just not sustainable, over the long haul, imo.

Why isn't it sustainable? Last time, I switched to ChaLean, which was also pretty good and quick, but I'm open to suggestions for something different. -

What I meant by "sustainable" is that it's not a workout that you're going to be able to do for the rest of your life, consecutively.fan_from_texas;1461186 wrote:Why isn't it sustainable? Like you said, you switched to ChaLean after P90 (I'm assuming). Doing P90X for a few rounds in a row is ok but it will get boring pretty quickly. Need variety, like switching up to ChaLean. One can always come back to P90X later, as a change of pace. -
fan_from_texasGot it. Makes sense.

AutomatikI can't stand working out in front of a TV.
I did p90x for a time, but Tony Horton's face just enraged me too much. I had to quit.
