BR1986FBTooth....you're also at the point in your progress that if you morphed more towards a paleo way of eating, that fat would come right off. It's a higher "healthy fat" way of eating where the higher fat content actually satisfies the body/makes you feel full and you can use the fat for fuel. I try to keep myself in a state of ketosis (super low carb intake) on non-training days and I'll up it with a sweet potato or some white rice (post workout meal) on training days. Imagine being able to scarf down that steak or bacon & eggs on a regular basis?

wes_mantoothyeah, i think it is probably time to start adding muscle. I dropped so much weight quickly, but it is time for something different

You gotta watch that. Being that you dropped a lot of weight, 1300 calories is VERY restrictive for a bigger guy.wes_mantooth;1464077 wrote:yeah, i think it is probably time to start adding muscle. I dropped so much weight quickly, but it is time for something different -
wes_mantoothHonestly, I have no idea what a Paleo diet is and I haven't really read through the thread on here.
-
BR1986FBAnd btw, Tooth...don't take that as criticism because you've done an AWESOME job transforming yourself. I'm only looking to help, anyone, in any way possible with workout/nutrition advice.

Higher healthy fat, low carb...meaning no grains, flour, processed crap. Most of your carbs are derived from vegetables and occasional fruit. It's not very difficult.wes_mantooth;1464087 wrote:Honestly, I have no idea what a Paleo diet is and I haven't really read through the thread on here. -
justincredibleI've been doing crossfit for almost a year now. It actually keeps me interested in working out, I'm stronger than I've ever been, and my body is actually starting to look pretty good. And now that I've started to actually put some effort into my diet the results are coming pretty quickly. I've seen people give crossfit shit on here before but it is working wonders for me.

wes_mantoothYeah, any input is good input...so no worries. I am very low carb except that I do eat a lot of fiber. I use the myfitnesspal app and I am usually below 20% of my calories coming from carbs. A typical day for me right now....
Breakfast: EAS protein shake 100 cal
9am break:Greek Yogurt 80 cal
1130 lunch: Adkins Shake 160 cal
300 at home: Fiber bar 120 cal
dinner: Chicken Breast 445 cal
then i usually snack later with jerky or another fiber bar....and usually something like MusclePharm or Syntha 6 to boost my calories up a little
I average around 160 grams of protein a day I think -
GOONx19While we're talking about diets, I usually eat upwards of 8,000 calories a day just to maintain at 160. Should I be concerned or just wait for my metabolism to slow down? I don't run or anything either.

Don't take this the wrong way, but fuck you. Lucky bastard.GOONx19;1464107 wrote:While we're talking about diets, I usually eat upwards of 8,000 calories a day just to maintain at 160. Should I be concerned or just wait for my metabolism to slow down? I don't run or anything either. -

As for the cross fit, it is like 60 bucks a month here...so fuck that. -
BR1986FBCrossfit will keep you on your toes as it's always changing. Also very good functional workout.

I wish it was $60 a month here.wes_mantooth;1464119 wrote:Exactly.

It's a great problem to have, but it takes a lot out of my paycheck loljustincredible;1464114 wrote:Don't take this the wrong way, but fuck you. Lucky bastard. -

wow...that sucks thenjustincredible;1464124 wrote:I wish it was $60 a month here.
As for you Goon, I wouldn't worry too much, but assuming your metabolism slows as you get older...just be warned, it is hard to adjust. I know for a fact. -
Automatik$60 a month for Xfit is a hell of a deal.
I'm dropping $89 just for a regular gym. Not a deal. -

I pay $100 for myself. If I could get my wife to join as well it would only be $125 total. She pays $30 or $40 a month for Urban Active.Automatik;1464129 wrote:$60 a month for Xfit is a hell of a deal.

BR1986FBHeh, heh, heh....home gym in my garage = priceless

My future goal is to do this but I don't have a garage. I am essentially limited to stuff like p90x or insanity at my house. Our next place will have plenty of room for weight equipment. I want to essentially have a mini crossfit box in a barn or garage.BR1986FB;1464134 wrote:Heh, heh, heh....home gym in my garage = priceless -

I don't really do fiber bars or shakes or anything like that. My usual day goes along these lines.wes_mantooth;1464102 wrote:Yeah, any input is good input...so no worries. Breakfast -- egg burrito (soft taco wrap, two eggs, mushrooms, jalapenos, horseradish and maybe another veggie like onions or random peppers if I have them around)
Lunch -- self-made pasta bowl (random kind of pasta mixed with a lite alfredo sauce, mushrooms and whatever other veggies I feel like tossing into the mix).
Dinner -- burger wrap (take the egg burrito, but replace eggs with sirloin-cut ground beef, essentially).
Snacks -- fruit and grain bars (fruit filling satisfies any "sweet tooth" I may have and they're low fat). Usually have 1-3 a day, depending on if I'm hungry or not.
This. I think it was eating 8000 calories a day might have been why I got to 245+ in the first place. lol.justincredible;1464114 wrote:Don't take this the wrong way, but fuck you. Lucky bastard. -

yeah, I cant justify that cost with college coming up for the kid.justincredible;1464132 wrote:I pay $100 for myself. If I could get my wife to join as well it would only be $125 total. She pays $30 or $40 a month for Urban Active. -

Yeah, in the same boat. Basically, I just devised my own workout plan where I turn music on loud and do a few set exercises and then stretch and bounce around the house in between reps of those. Seems to be working, so I might have to go big-time and try to be a millionaire home-exercise guru like all those other fucks.justincredible;1464137 wrote:My future goal is to do this but I don't have a garage. I slowly added piece by piece and it's essentially a commercial gym without the ambiance. I love my Powerblock dumbbells which go up to 125-130 lbs each and I have about 1000 lbs of free weight along with various machines, benches, bars, etc along with a Prowler.justincredible;1464137 wrote:My future goal is to do this but I don't have a garage. As far as the 8000 calories per day, if I was eating that now, at my age, I'd be floating over the Macy's Parade on Thanksgiving. -
AutomatikI wouldn't enjoy working out at home unless I had a massive space and tons of baller equipment. Getting out of my apartment to workout is something I like to do.....that and stair and the fine trim at my gym.
