Burning calories is about how much heat your body PRODUCES, not how hot you can get it. Your body burns more calories when you work out in the cold, because it is working harder to produce heat.

I could match you link for link, but hopefully you actually aren't going in a sauna for calorie burning lol The other shit makes sense though.
jesus H. I'm not claiming to be some expert (hence the reason I posed the initial question), just posting what I read. Calm down.[/QUOTE]

All those benefits you listed you can achieve much quicker from simply working out. I wouldn't waste 15-30 daily minutes of your life in a sauna if thats what you are looking for. I do think it feels good to be in a sauna, but I just rather use that time to work out. The only time I ever use a sauna is in the winter to get a little warm before I work out.

    We talkin bout...saunas?!

I think saunas are beneficial but I don't know if I agree with all of the health claims. I used to use a sauna after working out on occasion and all I can testify to is it made me feel more relaxed and it felt like my muscles were looser. It can't hurt.

    Not good.

I'm 3 days away from Summer vacation, and starting Monday, I want to make myself do some sort of running every day. Even if it is a lap around my block... SOMETHING. Getting tired of this.

I tweaked my groin area (haha....doesn't sound right) running sprints on Saturday. Definitely felt it doing deads on Sunday and squats last night. Farmers walks should be fun tonight.

I strained my knee a few weeks ago and it hasn't been the same since. Fucking annoying

I frequently recommend to people "not to get old." Can still lift the heavy weights and do the other stuff but recovery is a bitch. Injuries linger, etc.

My workouts are about a 4 on the intensity level of 10, but I'm coming around.

I still can't do much regarding freeweights, which sucks. I'm also rehabbing a torn labrum. It's going surprisingly well, but I'm unsure on how it will hold up in the future without having surgery.

No doubt BR's "skinny fat" is accurate. Working on becoming more of the skinny. Going to run the Airforce Half Marathon in a few months.

^ This is salto and it also goes for said. ;)

Looking forward to starting Tim Grover's "Jump Attack" program next week. 12 week program that improves overall athleticism.

Tim Grover was/is Michael Jordan's, Dwayne Wade's, and Kobe Bryant's personal trainer. He has a book out, Relentless, that I absolutely loved. It digs into some of those guys mentality and why they are so good.

Just read an excerpt from the book. Holy shit, looks intense.

Summer is going good so far. I'm going to hit legs hard for the next 3 months while I have the time. Have been slacking in that area for too long.
  • ernest_t_bass
Finally ran today for the first time in over a month. I only ran 1 mile, but my "goal" is to run (at the very least) 1 mile every single week-day this summer. I'm sure my endurance will get better as I go forward. Probably pick back up with the lifting next week. My workout chums want to do P90X, but I'd rather focus on heavy lifting. We'll see.

P90X3 Challenge, Alice has beautiful lats.

Solid high rep workout today. Wednesday marks one month since I decided to straighten my diet up. Going to check all results then, but I pretty much let it go this weekend when I was home visiting and probably fucked myself.

I am trying to go at least 80/20 eating, 90/10 on a good week.
