I have a park that has a ton of steps so I do a lot of sprints there and various other exercises up them.Zoltan;1605092 wrote:What are some good sprint workouts? I tend to default to 3 mile type runs as my summer cardio.
Do you have a track or any other place with a lot of land? I would just sprints in intervals. Increasing the distance after a certain amount of reps. -

Why would I be butthurt over your factually incorrect statement?
Sprints and distance both are a benefit to your body in different ways, as indicated earlier in the thread.
One isn't necessarily any better than the other.
Hope this helps. -

HIIT (sprinting) gets the heart rate up faster, and burns fat longer, while distance running is harder on the body.dlazz;1605154 wrote:Why would I be butthurt over your factually incorrect statement?

I didn't say jogging doesn't have benefits. I said sprinting is better for the body.dlazz;1605154 wrote:Why would I be butthurt over your factually incorrect statement?

I do both, but when it's warm I have more opportunities to do sprint workouts.
I see much better results for my body when I consistently do sprint workouts over long distance running.
Do what you want for your own health though. Idgaf,
Hope this helps. -
Azubuike24I wish 95% of people would do either fucking one. It's sad to go out in public and see how pathetic most of our society has become. Whenever I walk into a Kroger and go down the aisles, it's like a traffic jam with 400 lb, middle-aged people riding around in motorized carts.

Just a culture of lazy people finding excuses not to take care of themselves. Also doesn't help that our youth receives inadequate education on exercise and nutritional health. -

And it also doesn't help that the cheapest food at the supermarket is the most unhealthy.like_that;1605255 wrote:Just a culture of lazy people finding excuses not to take care of themselves. "Boo hoo, but I'm too tired after work boo hoo."

This. There are positives, though, in that a completely adequate and mediocre person such as myself can feel like an elite when out at the store in town!Azubuike24;1605243 wrote:I wish 95% of people would do either fucking one. It would help to actually provide education in "Physical Education" classes instead of having some overpaid dimwit throwing out dodgeballs and telling the class to choose up teams.like_that;1605255 wrote:

And that the worst shit out there (fast food) has the big advertising budgets to be so entrenched in society that the lazy and undereducated masses have it foremost in their minds as far as nutrition goes.ernest_t_bass;1605260 wrote:And it also doesn't help that the cheapest food at the supermarket is the most unhealthy.
There's something completely wrong about elite level athletes like Lebron (mentioned due to how his commercial is constantly played now) shilling McDonald's. Congrats, King, you're doing your job to help your young fans turn into fat pieces of shit, all in the name of adding more $$$ to your overflowing coffers.
The only athletes who should be shilling McShit are the fatasses like Bart Colon, CC Sabathia, Prince Fielder, Tony Stewart, etc. Give the kids a vision of what their future will be if they eat that stuff while watching Colon sweating profusely while chewing through a Big Mac. -
BR1986FBIf you like to run for distance, RUN, but don't try to pass it off as some sort of "healthy" lifestyle or fat loss miracle because it isn't.

Another paper from the American Journal of Medicine also stated, "Moderate-intensity aerobic exercise programs of 6-12 months induce a modest reduction in weight and waist circumference in overweight and obese populations. Our results show that isolated aerobic exercise is not an effective weight loss therapy in these patients." One study looking over the clinical benefits of high intensity interval training concluded, "Exercise has numerous benefits for high-risk populations and such benefits, especially weight loss, are amplified with HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)."

Doing something is better than nothing but distance running isn't effective for bodyfat loss. If anything, you're going to get that often sought after skinny fat look. -
SonofanumpI think I'll do it all in moderation.

Flexible dieting has shown fast food isn't the problem - but lack of exercise and portion control is.Heretic;1605274 wrote:And that the worst shit out there (fast food) has the big advertising budgets to be so entrenched in society that the lazy and undereducated masses have it foremost in their minds as far as nutrition goes.

Yeah, I think the problem with fast food is mainly in its portion control with the way it's sold. You get a meal (because it's a value) and you're getting close to an entire day's worth of calories in one sitting. With the problem being there are so many empty calories there, you feel hungry again at the same (or close to it) time you'd regularly be hungry.Raw Dawgin' it;1605287 wrote:Flexible dieting has shown fast food isn't the problem - but lack of exercise and portion control is. -
lhslep134I eat at McDonalds from time to time and I'm in good shape. You just have to be conscious of what you're getting. I won't get more than 600 calories worth of stuff there but I like to go just for a change from my normal diet.
