That counts and meets all OC requirements. You worked out.ernest_t_bass;1586814 wrote:Did some intervals on the treadmill yesterday. Not sure if it is to the OC standards, but it got my heart rate way up, and made me sweat my ass off:
Yesterday, I did about 2.25 miles. I progressed each lap. MPH for my laps: 4, 6, 7, 8, 4, 6, 7, 8/9, 4. -

Nobody measures laps based on MPH.ernest_t_bass;1586814 wrote:Did some intervals on the treadmill yesterday. Not sure if it is to the OC standards, but it got my heart rate way up, and made me sweat my ass off:

My treadmill does. Thanks for attempting, though.dlazz;1586831 wrote:Nobody measures laps based on MPH.

TedShecklerMeasuring laps at a pace is old school. Nowadays it's all in mph or if your fancy....kph. I'm better than all that though. I measure in feet per second.

I Wear PantsPT is progressing nicely for me. It's like I almost have a functioning arm again. Yay.

Attempting? No.ernest_t_bass;1586833 wrote:My treadmill does. Thanks for attempting, though.
People usually measure in mile times, not MPH.
Sorry your treadmill is a fail. LOL -
ernest_t_bass
People who want to track total distance. I was running 400m intervals, so I didn't care about time, only speed. You're really good at this.dlazz;1586849 wrote:Attempting? No.

Then track your 400m pace. Measuring MPH (especially with whole numbers) on that short of a distance is useless.ernest_t_bass;1586851 wrote: I was running 400m intervals
You wouldn't measure a standing broad jump with miles, would you? It'd give you worthless numbers. Same idea here. -

Set treadmill to 7 mph. Run .25 meters. Increase to 8 mph for .25 meters.dlazz;1586854 wrote:Then track your 400m pace. Measuring MPH with whole numbers on that short of a distance is useless.
I'll continue to use my method, mostly because I wasn't a CC runner in HS, and DGAF about time. Furthest I've ran for time was 400m, and I no longer care about getting around the track in better than 51s. -

Whatever floats your boat. As long as ya keep the same system to track/guage your workouts it doesnt really matter how you do it.ernest_t_bass;1586855 wrote:Set treadmill to 7 mph. Run .25 meters. Increase to 8 mph for .25 meters.

Although I have never heard someone reference MPH in regards to workouts....I usually go by pace/time. -

Oh you're right. I am derping quite hard. I never run on a treadmill. I was assuming you're running on a track.ernest_t_bass;1586855 wrote:Set treadmill to 7 mph. Run .25 meters. Increase to 8 mph for .25 meters.
If you eventually transition off of the treadmill you'll still want to convert to tracking time instead. MPH is not a very useful number. If you stay on the treadmill it might be, but you'll lose a lot of data if you suddenly started running elsewhere. -

Shit's tight. I do something similar. I'll run for 30 minutes, but increase the MPH every 2-3 minutes. Yesterday I started around 6.6 and ended at 8. Definitely getting better as usually when I'd run, I'd stay right around 6.5mph for the entire time.ernest_t_bass;1586814 wrote:Did some intervals on the treadmill yesterday.
