What are you reading?

Since my last post in this thread I have read the Divergent Series and World War Z. I'm starting "To Kill a Mockingbird" today. Never read it.

    Divergent (Divergent #1)- 4/5
    Insurgent (Divergent #2)- 4/5
    Allegiant (Divergent #3)- 4/5
    World War Z- 3/5
Cant disagree with your review. Just hard to really piece together something like this. All and all, enjoyable though. To Kill a MOckingbird. Probably would have given it a 0 out of 5 when I was forced to read in in school years ago.
Dont remember much about it all, but I am pretty sure that score would change if I read it now.

The Hobbit, for the 3rd time. Gets better every time. Want to be finished w/ it before the 3rd and final movie.

    Since I last posted...

    To Kill a Mockingbird
    9/10
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 8.5/10

I'm halfway through the 2nd book in the series The Girl Who Played With Fire. Pretty good so far.

    Anyone else on Goodreads?

How is this? It looks compelling.

It was okay, not great. Overrated but still pretty good.

I have the 2nd and 3rd books on my Kindle but have never gotten around to reading them. I loved the first one, so I am not sure why I have waited so long.

Back to the subject at hand...I am about to start Captivated By You by Sylvia Day. #mommyporn

FINALLY got through the memorial letters at the end of American Sniper. Was tough to read especially getting to the parts where he talks about some of the people/units my brother also spoke of and was with. Really hits home.

With winter hitting will have to find some new things to read. WIll have to research some or stop into a big book store when I get to the city!

Damn dude this book is loooong. Just finished it. Reading an easy David baldacci book now after that thousand pager. I lost all the library books I had reserved since the last one took so long but have orange is the new black and lord of the flies on it still.

In case anyone was unsure, you can download a bunch of library books on your kindle and then turn it on airplane mode, and the book won't expire until you connect to wifi again. That's what I usually do.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I'm reading I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes. About 2/3 finished, pretty good so far. I also like to switch between a few books at a time so I'm reading Al Michael's book (sounds boring, but he's lived a pretty interesting life) and Seth Davis's book on Wooden, which is a bear of a book.

Going to start The Compound Effect on Jan 6th.

I'm closing in on getting finished with the currently available books in A Song of Ice and Fire. A couple hundred pages into Dance With Dragons, reading about how a particular character is being taught his name, occasionally losing a finger, toe or tooth to help with the instruction.

After I finish that, I'll have to find a new series while waiting for FatGuy to decide he wants to finish the sixth book. Probably either Malazan Book of the Fallen (if I go for another really dense war-time medieval/magic series) or Discworld (if I decide to go for something a bit more light-hearted).

Finished up Flemings' Goldfinger over Christmas.
Also read Moneyball, 10 years later, finally.

    Now started Robert Gates Duty.
  • Dr Winston O'Boogie
I finished a biography of Hilter by John Toland. Excellent book and somewhat depressing just because of Hitler and his personality.

I am now reading Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King. It is average for him - entertaining but not engrossing. No supernatural stuff which is kind of a departure.

    Reading "41" also.....

That book is the epitome of "gets worse as it goes on."

Just read Catch-22 for about the 12th time. Definitely my favorite book ever. My friends give me shit because I laugh out loud when I read it.
