I typically don't bet against Urban but no chance he comes to OSU. He likely won't play until Sophomore year.ironman02;1832342 wrote:I don't think the Lindsey deal is over yet. Pretty sure that Urban is gonna try to get him back.
Pretty shocked that he thinks Nebraska is the answer to this. They must have been selling him hard on OSU's offensive struggles and immediate playing time. -

Definitely good news. Left to right...Jamarco,Jordan,Price,?,Prince. Any chance Myers hops in and starts as freshman? Hopefully Prince doesn't suck again.vball10set;1832393 wrote:good news for our Oline

What about the one guy? Can't remember his name, but he was a 5* JUCO who came in last year, was supposedly in contention and then got hurt before the season started. If he gets healthy and plays up to potential, he could easily take a spot.Benny The Jet;1832399 wrote:Definitely good news. Left to right...Jamarco,Jordan,Price,?,Prince. Pridgeon, you're right. Should get a startHeretic;1832411 wrote:What about the one guy? This is absolutely bizarre. There has to be something family-related going on behind the scenes here.
Also, it's pretty ridiculous that so many people tweet at these kids. -

The whole recruiting cycle and how many follow it so closely has always seemed very creepy to me. Grown men salivating at 16-18 yr old kids, watching their moves, following everything they say, hoping they would sign with their favorite school and then when they dont trash 'em as they weren't that good anyways.ironman02;1832433 wrote:http://www.cleveland.com/osu/2017/01/tyjon_lindseys_special_message.html

Sounds like there is a bit of a rift between Lindsey and Martell. Tyjon was living with the Martell family before briefly moving back to California, and then didn't move back in with them when he returned to Nevada. I suppose that could have created some tension between the two. The major factors at play here, though, are Nebraska negative recruiting Ohio State and the OSU passing game.
Not really sure how a coach from a team that got their ass beat off, 62-3, can talk about developing players and such, and actually get someone to listen, but apparently that's the case. Also, not sure how Lindsey wouldn't be excited about the Wilson hire and the prospect of a more explosive offense, that absolutely WOULD use a slot receiver like him, but again, negative recruiting. Finally, if you're jealous that your future team is preparing for the CFP and not calling you 24/7, then that's also pretty ridiculous.
Anyway, we'll see if Zach Smith can repair this relationship and/or resolve any doubts that Lindsey may have, but at this point, I'm not sure that I even care. Get Lynn Bowden in this class and I'm fine with it. -

this video is interesting as it seems this is something that a player says who is declaring for the draft says, not one who is being recruited by a college program (tough times how and where he grew up, trials and tribulations, etc.)....like you said, kinda bizarreironman02;1832433 wrote:http://www.cleveland.com/osu/2017/01/tyjon_lindseys_special_message.html

wildcats20Torrance Gibson is headed to UC to be with Fick.
I'm glad his situation is done at OSU. -

I don't want the kid. Let him rot in Nebraska and watch OSU compete for National Championships.vball10set;1832474 wrote:this video is interesting as it seems this is something that a player says who is declaring for the draft, not one who is being recruited (tough times how and where he grew up, trials and tribulations, etc.)....like you said, kinda bizarre -

Same here. Classic case of a guy with a lot of talent that comes to a top tier program and realizes pure talent alone isn't going to net playing time because everyone has elite talent. You need to put the work in to get playing time.wildcats20;1832505 wrote:Torrance Gibson is headed to UC to be with Fick.

Pretty much agree. If you're going to be a headache, take it somewhere else.sleeper;1832513 wrote:Same here. Sounds like he's going to play QB there. Does he have to sit a year? -

I would think so, unless he wasn't enrolled because he was suspended? not really sure what his status was/isBenny The Jet;1832522 wrote: Sounds like he's going to play QB there. Does he have to sit a year? -

No. He is going to community college for an associates and once he has that he can play D1 without skipping a year.Benny The Jet;1832522 wrote:Pretty much agree. If you're going to be a headache, take it somewhere else.

Loopholes man. So many loopholes. -
ironman02I have a different opinion on Gibson. He was injured, then suspended from the university (which Meyer openly disagreed with). He has a ton of potential, and I would have liked to see what he could do at OSU. Yeah, he made a bad decision, but if Urban publicly disagrees with OSU, it must not have been that bad. I don't think he necessarily felt entitled, or didn't want to compete. Doesn't matter now, though, since he's out.

I mean he can come back this year and play at OSU and compete. He chose not to. Where would he play? Cinci is guaranteed time at QB right away. He would have to compete for a WR spot on OSU and that is no given.ironman02;1832544 wrote:I have a different opinion on Gibson. I don't know if he applied for reinstatement, or if maybe he did and was denied. He was pretty high on the WR depth chart before he got ousted by the university. Maybe he decided it was time for a fresh start, or maybe he didn't have a choice. I don't know the details yet.sleeper;1832555 wrote:I mean he can come back this year and play at OSU and compete. Also, it looks like he'll play QB at Cincinnati, so maybe that was the deciding factor as well. My point was just that it doesn't seem like he was a complete head case or a cancer to the team. -
