WTF OSU, letting #2 WR in the state walk to Wisc?
We already had a helluva wr recruiting class, but that being said, if he wasn't offered, there's a good reason. In Urban I Trust.

Jaelen Gill, 4* APB out of Westerville South, is the 4th commit to the 2018 class. Gill would be a composite 5* right now if he hadn't been injured last season. Despite the injury, he's the #32 player in the entire class of 2018 according to 247 Sports.

    HUGE commitment for the Buckeyes.

He said he's been trying to flip guys too. He is a great, great kid.

Glad OSU got him...but these commitment videos are getting pretty lame.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rflJhOBOQg

TLDW: He goes through talking to all these guys with different schools on their shirts, then at the end of the video comes out and shows off his UCLA shirt. Then like 30 seconds later, video cuts back in and he's at the shoe and has an OSU shirt on under it.

Maybe I'm too "Get off my lawn" but have a presser if you want, heck even pull out the hat, but just announce where you're heading. Not a fan of the bait and switch trend going now.

^^^I agree 100%...showing disrespect to another school just isn't right (unless it's ttun, of course)

With Gerald leaving, and James Clark not getting/taking a 5th year, OSU is down to 88 scholarship players. Blake Haubeil, the incoming kicker, is gonna grayshirt, so that puts them at 87. Two more players will be transferring or taking a medical hardship before next season starts.

Any info on why Gerald left? Not good enough? Not patient?

I haven't seen much about it, but my guess would be that he was having a difficult time and probably already realized that he didn't have a realistic chance to earn playing time throughout this career. Hopefully he can go somewhere else and be successful.

WR Alex Stump has also left the program. Down to 86 (87 counting Haubeil who will grayshirt). Since Spring Practice started today, I would think someone else will leave after the Spring Game when they realize they're never going to play.

I always hate to see players leave. I understand it is for the best of the team and sometimes for the best of the player. Hopefully the guys that leave go somewhere they can get some playing time. I wish them all the best.

When asked about Gerald during his press conference today, Meyer said "He just quit. I had nothing to do with that."

Stump is officially transferring to Vanderbilt. Clark will also transfer, but not until he's done with track season at OSU. Kyle Trout, who is transferring to Cincinnati, will continue to practice with OSU until he graduates this Spring.

Chris Worley is moving to MLB, so you could see a starting trio of Worley, Baker, and Booker.

Listened to the Urban presser today talking about Gerald. I was surprised when he said he had nothing to do with it. Twitter has been exploding about Haskins. By the sound of things he is real good at what he does. I cant wait to see him in action during the spring game.

Also read that Bama just offered Jones today. I am guessing their pitch will be look at all the QBs they have and You wont stand a chance at starting for two to three years. Ugg.

Emory Jones seems very excited about Ohio State, so I don't think there's much to worry about right now. Bama just lost a bunch of QBs to transfer, but they will have Hurd for at least two more years and they're bringing in a couple talented ones this year as well. I honestly think the biggest threat for Jones would be Georgia, since it's the home state school and Kirby Smart is recruiting so well right now. The state of Georgia is loaded (OSU has offered a bunch of kids from GA in 2018 and 2019), so it might be tempting to stay home. Anyway, like I said, I think Jones is completely committed, but obviously it's not over until he signs.

Also excited about Haskins. I think he's the real deal, and wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he wins the starting job next season after JT is gone. The Buckeyes are definitely gonna be in a good spot with so many talented QBs.

Saw a mock draft that had lattimore going #2 overall to SF.

I love Lattimore but that is a huge reach.

Not quite the same OSU as everyone else is talking about.

Ohio State had it's Pro-Day today. Only thing noteworthy I though was that Noah Brown ran a faster 40 than Dontre Wilson.

I thought the hype about Dontre was his speed? Very surprised at his forty time. I hope him the best and a team gives him a chance. Never really took off at Ohio State like I was hoping he would.
  • ironman02
I think the foot injuries have really hurt Dontre's explosiveness. He's not what he once was, and never really turned into the player he was expected to be.

Seems like Curtis Samuel turned into the player everyone thought Dontre would be.

Yep, good point. Samuel came in a year after Dontre and was a better player at basically the same position.

I bought into all the hype. Was very disappointed in the end. But hope for the best for him in the future.

Samuel did a great job and to me just did not get enough touches. Think he could have added an easy 1000 more yards to his total if he would have been utilized more.
