So does Manziel. He worked with George Whitfield this summer.

Manziel will 100% be a first round pick. You're simply delusional if you think otherwise.

But buttttt...he doesn't have the discipline to "adjust his game"!

So was Troy Smith? What happened to him?

And Troy Smith at this point > Johnny Kegstand.

    MB,

do us a favor and stick to talking about Asians.
  • Automatik
    Gotta be trolling.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Yeah, I'm trolling. I'm the one saying that Johnny Manziel will be a first round pick.

Who the hell in the NFL is a dumb enough GM to take that guy in the first round. He's 6'0 and barely 200 lbs. And he has baggage to boot.

Last 3 posting, you're the GM of an NFL team. Which team are you the GM of that takes him in the first round?
  • Manhattan Buckeye
And for the record, Troy Smith (far more physically talented) fell to the 5th round based on his Championship performance alone after obtaining the Heisman. And he washed out. Why do you think someone far less talented and far more difficult will do better than Smith?
  • Rotinaj
Manziel is 6ft 1. Have you seen the qbs to be drafted in the first round over the last couple years?

Yeah, they are better than Manziel. Jake Locker didn't have the greatest NCAA career but he was drafted based on potential and his physical prowess which is pretty impressive. Perhaps it will work out for him and the Titans, perhaps it won't.

But I do know one thing, Manziel's rushing isn't going to last in the NFL. He'll get killed (figuratively, hopefully). He can't rush like he did this past season. He doesn't have the build for it. He will have to completely reinvent his game or else he'll be another washout.
  • Automatik
    Blaine Gabbert is terrible.
  • vball10set
I'll reserve any comment about Manziel as an NFL prospect until after this season. He won't sneak up on anybody, and teams now know how to defense him. It'll be interesting to see how he fares this season.

Eh I would say at worst he would go in the 2nd round not 100% sure he would go in the 1st :P.

Lol at MB though this is just epic. This thread we probably need to go to the HoF once the season is over.

This dude has so many red flags it's crazy, his immaturity just keeps showing itself.
  • Automatik
I'm not comparing the two on the field...at ALL.

But one past player came to mind......what were people's reactions to Deion back in his college days? Was his every moved covered like this by the media? Did we have a lot of butthurt people like we do now?

yeah, it will be epic when a 6'1 200 lb QB doesn't get drafted in the first round, when the best ever with that physical pedigree (Drew Brees) barely got drafted in the first round.

It is epic to point out the truth? You need to up your game, pal.

I didnt know calling a spade a spade was being "butthurt"

The truth? Do you have a time machine or something that allowed you into the future to see when he would be drafted?

Also I didn't say he was would get picked for sure in the 1st round. Please do some reading. Maybe you've been hanging out with too many Asians and now you can't comprehend basic English? You need to up your game, pal.

He might or might not go in the first round, but I don't know (as of now) if his game translates all that well to the NFL. Too early to tell or for me to care in that regard.

As far as him and his constant headlines, virtually everything is the sort of minor-league stuff that speaks more to a kind of immature guy way over his head with media attention (or just the amount of celebrity attention he's gotten in general), so his worst traits get brought out and over-exaggerated. But on his part, he really needs to develop some savvy as to what is or isn't a good idea. Right now, I doubt NFL types are seeing much to be overly worried about, unless the sheer quantity of off-the-field headlines means anything. I mean, nothing he's done is particularly major in the grand scheme of things.

If it's two years later and he's still doing minor-league dumb shit on a regular basis, it might be a different story, but right now, it's more of the non-story being blown up to epic proportions because he's a big name player, it's Texas (where all things football are super-magnified, it seems) and it's a slow time of the year for anything besides baseball.

Ya, he's in the Tebow level of coverage where every little thing he does get's reported.

For example, a day after he got kicked out of one UT frat:

That's the whole point of speculation, we don't know. But this guy is no where near Tebow level, on the field or at the maturity level. Betting against JM being a productive NFL QB is working with house money. The guy is currently a disaster.

If that "MB'd" me for speaking the truth so be it, just look like a fool in a couple of years. He isn't NFL material unless he cleans up his act and changes his game. I'm not confident he can do either. What moron of a GM would take him in the first round?

Message boards, Twitter, Facebook, maybe not so much, but Texas A&M sure gives a shit what the media says about him, you can bet your ass on that.
