Johnny Manziel 2013-14 Thread

  • #1DBag
He's doing what all of ya'll would be doing if you were a 20 y/o Heisman Trophy QB in the state of Texas. Let go of his nutz.
  • Tiernan
I'll let go of his nutz when the little shite is no longer in the running for a second Heisman. He didn't deserve the first one.

Manziel is kicked out of a Texas frat party.

I doubt he did anything wrong here besides thinking that he could go to a rival schools frat party and not get harassed by drunk idiots.. Nothing wrong with going to a frat party, just stick to your own school or a non-rival school where the football team isn't a big deal.

You're never out of the spotlight when the words "Heisman Trophy winner" precedes your name, and the sooner he figures that out, the better he and A&M will be.

    what's wrong with that?

Ha this kid is a joke. I mean he knows he's gonna get crazy attention, why doesn't he just act normal for a college kid? Why would an Aggie go to a Longhorn party? I doubt Devin Gardner will show up sometime soon in Columbus to drink some brews at a frat

Can't we just cut to the chase and admit that my first post was correct?

He was a flash-in-the-pan QB (the success has a lot to do with the system, and not talent at the collegiate level) that needs to mature heavily, and become more focused to even make a dent in the NFL. At this point even my aTm friends are shaking their heads.

He wouldn't make an NFL roster right now, isn't helping his reputation much.

Last time I checked normal college kids go to parties at other schools from time to time, even their rivals. Especially if you go to a college in a town that's dead in the summer.

Its a bit premature to call him a flash in the pan, considering he hasnt played a down of his second season yet.

As skeptical of Manziel as I am, I agree with this.

I'm not sold on him, but I'm not going to say he is a flash in the pan until this season gets under way (well conference play, as most OOC games easy for big schools).

QBs that had RB-like talent, like Vick and McNabb had to adjust their game. I don't see him having the discipline to do it. If he wants to be like Steve Young, he needs to act like Steve Young, not Vince Young.

So you're speaking solely from an NFL-talent evaluative view. I think there still is something to be said for college success as well. While I'm sure every college player has aspirations of playing in the NFL, NFL success isn't the only defining measure of a college player.

What else is he doing at aTm? If his goal is to be the biggest douchebag in college football history he's well on his way. I realize many people don't like Tim Tebow, but he seems like a genuine nice guy, and understands his limitations and works with his coaches. Manziel needs to mature quickly, and get over himself.

All the media hype attention caused my dislike for Tebow, but Manziel's accomplishing it all on his own.

Flash in the pan after playing 1 year and winning a Heisman. Wouldn't make an NFL roster? Like....Seriously??? Your posts in this thread have been a joke right?
  • Manhattan Buckeye
You'd draft him? Troy Smith won a Heisman and didn't last 2 years.

What has Manziel done to show he'd even be a a first day pick?

His lack of physical presence. His general douchebagness. Ryan Mallett had much more talent (and half of the baggage) and is still struggling.

Trying to win at the college level and have a college experience.

If all college ball was about was preparing you for the NFL then why bother having leagues and championships/bowl games? Yes, I'm sure it's a goal for the majority of players, and I'm sure there are plenty of players who do treat college ball like a job and devote themselves to getting better all the time. But I don't fault a college kid for also enjoying being in college, but at the same time, there is taking the "college experience" and just drinking too much and putting yourself in bad situations, which Manziel has shown he has a penchant for doing.

But I disagree that the only important thing in college football is eventual NFL success.

On Sept 14 hopefully we get to see Johhny Manzier bleed out on the field from a punctured spleen.

I agree, but this guy is bricking on every single level. His reputation is a joke, and he won't get drafted at this rate despite his Heisman. I'm not sure what RotingJ is smoking but a 6'1" 200lb QB that made his college reputation on his rushing isn't going to make it unless he is Drew Brees. And this guy ain't Drew Brees.

LOL what has he done? WTF hasn't he done? Beats the national champ at home and blows out the Big 12 champ in bowl game. EASILY best qb in college last year.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
And he'd be a 5th round pick at best if he entered the draft. And likely wouldn't make an NFL roster.

    Nostradamus up in here.
