Yes, but it has to be a full quote.

    God, you're retarded.

Not when you get a red x or blue x. It just doesn't work. I'm guessing it is similar as to why I can't post a photo here.

    Well this escalated quickly.

The article I was referring to.

There seems to be mixed feelings regarding his transition to the NFL. Personally, I think he's a first rounder...easily. 2nd, maybe.

Dual threat QBs are changing the game, for now. Teams passing on Russell Wilson and his later success makes me think Manziel will get picked up quickly.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Yeah, Brick killed a guy. He might need to find a safehouse or otherwise lie low.

To the point of the thread, I see Manziel as high risk QB that could be Troy Smith.....and we all saw where he was drafted. Manziel is maybe 6'1, he isn't rushing for 1,000 yards/year in the NFL and has about the physical structure of Drew Brees. Drew Brees certainly panned out and became an all-star. I'm not seeing that with Manziel.

Difference is, Brees is smart

    Interesting comparison. Don't necessarily disagree.

This thread has really paid off so far.

To use ESPN to promote why Manziel would translate to the NFL is a complete joke as ESPN clearly goes out of their way to protect their investment regarding the SEC and the public's perception of that league. I have never seen ESPN struggle so hard to excuse and cover-up for a high profile college kid such as they have with Manziel. If Braxton Miller was showing up hungover to a camp over the Summer I can assure you we'd never hear the end of it.

But on the same token, I really can't say whether Manziel will transfer to the NFL. Hell, we've only seen 1 year of him in college so far. I want to see how he plays this year, and I have a feeling it won't pan out as well as last year.

    Did you read the article?
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Well, it will be interesting if Manziel has the same rushing stats this upcoming year. McNabb and Vick were gifted runners, and had to adjust their game at the NFL level.

I'm not mentioning the guy from Florida.

Cam Newton comes to mind, but I get your point...and your comment about BM is spot on.

I'm just wondering why manhattan is still able to post. Meanwhile we have posters locked away for doing THE EXACT SAME THING MANHATTAN JUST DID

    Like mention Kliff Kingsbury?

This is the funniest thing to me. I mention a guy who was a Texas Tech quarterback back in the early '00's, had huge stats and got drafted by the Pats and ultimately didn't pan out lasting a couple of years in the league.

I'm smart enough to actually know who Kliff Kingsbury is, but I'm too dumb to realize where he is now.

I can even thrown in BJ Symons.
  • se-alum
Honestly, I read MB's initial statement as a comparison to Texas Tech, not as if Manziel played for TT.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
I can see how it could be interpreted incorrectly. I don't necessarily agree, but I can see it.

I have no idea what LJ's comment was about: "#2. Kingsbury isn't back as "a" coach, he is the head coach at TT"

Me too. I read it as a dink and dunk comparison to the playing style of Kliff when he was at TT

I read that as saying he is just an assistant coach somewhere.

I read it as, "MB is a douche."

    Exactly. ESPN is a joke

We're already "never hearing the end" of this dumbass situation.

ESPN is shit, but they are even more shit during this time of year.

    We got baseball and..............

LSUFreek's take on the camp situation. Succinct, good reference, too. I like it

No, we've seen ESPN down play it and avoid mentioning anything about him out drinking and just buying each new excuse the Manziel family offers.

But ya, Summer is always a dead period.

Agreed, I'm over this story at this point. But in spirit of the thread I'll post any new links that are in connection with it or any further indiscretions or achievements (once the season arrives) from Johnny Manziel.
