The U in the NCAA's Scopes

  • karen lotz
This notion that I was paying players is false. It never happened.
It has never been about money for me. It's always been about community service. That's what being Uncle Luke is really about.

Uncle Luke must have forgotten about The U 30 for 30 that he was interviewed for.

I sent you a PM, because you are saying the opposite of what my point is.

Speaking of Trolls. Goldhammer says only OSU honks would think that this Miami thing is worse than the OSU scandal. LOL.

EDSBS blog is great. They have a good poll too.

What I find funny about this is the fact that they had Nick Saban on ESPN talking about the integrity of the game, and how to fix it. All that good stuff, it was on the "Blueprint for Change" piece during Sportscenter.

I loved Nevin Shapiro's response when asked "Do you have a smoking gun?"...or something like that. And he says, "I've got a tsunami". LoL

Purdue could be out of a QB from all of this as Robert Marve is named as a player he took to dinner and strip clubs and also gave money to.

Poor Purdue...not that Marve is really worth a damn.

You still don't get it. OSU fans dismissed the claims because of what kind of criminals they were, not because they were criminals. Maybe you should look at what some of the educated posters had to say on the issue (that these criminals' words should be dismissed because there's no proof).

While I understand the point you're making (the same point as me), the way you went about doing it suggested that OSU fans unintelligently dismissed the claims because of the word criminal, not because of what kind of criminal/lack of proof.

Ok, we can agree to disagree. Which is odd because our end points are the same. :)

Fair enough. We're actually both right. There WERE OSU posters who dismissed them because they were criminals, but most said it was because of the type of criminal/lack of proof.

My whole thing is, the proof wasn't there. I don't care who's pointing the finger, if it's the President of the United States even, there has to be proof in order to punish. There wasn't any proof. The NCAA isn't a court of law, meaning your credibility is pretty much shot if you're a convicted felon. Everyone is a credible source when it comes to the NCAA, until they fail to show proof.

Colin Cowherd pointed out the obvious a few minutes ago - The PAC-12, Big East, ACC, B1G, Mountain West, Big 12 have all had one team (or more) in trouble as of late (w/in the past couple years)...but not the SEC.

Randy Shannon? Where is his name in this whole story? You know Yahoo asked. No accusations or even a 'he never knew' from Shapiro.
    Interesting.

    Interesting.

Shannon knew, but he hated Shapiro. But honestly, what could he do short of ratting out his own team? It's no wonder he didn't do well there.

so. auburn with cam newton, we're just overlooking that? Alabama and the T-town suit store, nothing to see here. LSU and their self policed infractions?

the SEC handled the one for sure violation better, but there are some really big fish that everyone is overlooking.

Well don't quote me, damn. Cowherd said it, not I. Excuse me...geesh. Maybe LSU slipped his mind, hell I dunno. Call him and ask him.
