Ejuan Price asking out of letter of intent.

Midstate01You let him go and move on. Don't be like Joe pa and say no. Most thought he never REALLY wanted to be at osu anyway. If there's one position we can afford to lose a player at, it's linebacker.
Good luck to the kid. -
centralbucksfanUnfortunately, this is only the start. Recruiting will be sub par for at least the next year. Its going to allow UM, ND and others to move into Ohio and get some quality recruits.

I never saw this coming from you, cbf...smh -

He's being realistic though. Don't you think the recruits are concerned about being locked out of bowl games for half of their collegiate career (or possibly longer)? Don't you think they are concerned about possibly being coached by a couple different head coaches and the changes that inherently follow? -
SportsAndLadycbf thinks the sky is falling, no one listen to him.

stroupsPrice is the cousin of Dorian Bell. If he is anything like Dorian they can both GTFO.
-
Terry_TateWhat's wrong with what CBF said? Price is asking out and the WR from Georgia picked Auburn over OSU even though he had been a Buckeye fan his whole life. I still think Ohio State will have a good recruiting class, but they will miss out on some guys due to all of the uncertainty.
-
thedynasty1998There is no way that recruiting isn't effected. Fickell and staff can recruit hard this year, but they can't guarantee they will be there year two, and that's big to recruits and players.
-
OhioStatePride2003I still say that recruiting won't be impacted as bad as some think. Will it be affected, it sure will. But Ohio is one of the few hotbeds in the nation for high school football, and the talent is usually pretty deep. We lose potential recruits to that hell hole up north and other schools anyway. We may not be able to pull in recruits from outside of Ohio like we're use too, but kids in Ohio typically grow up wanting to play for Ohio State. In places like California, USC is use to getting top recruits. Many go there because they wanna play out in Cali, but in Cali - there's USC, UCLA, Standford, etc. In Ohio, it's only Ohio State. Just my opinion, but I don't think it'll be all that bad.
I hope we let this kid out of his scholarship. Like was stated before, one position we're not hurting at is linebacker. -
SportsAndLadyi'm not saying cbf is wrong on this point...recruiting will take a bit of a hit, im sure...but everything u see from him from here out will be negative. it will be "sky is falling" type posts. Just read his posts on the tressel/tattto 5 threads

sleeperDon't care. If you don't want to play at the premier school in the country, go to the SEC.
-
rmolin73Then he would be playing at the premier conference at one of the premier schools in the country.

OSU plays in the Big Ten. -
rmolin73Which is not the premier conference nor is OSU the premier school in the country especially comparing them to the SEC schools.

Their football programs are dripping with similar corruption.

Not sure what your point is. Ohio State does not, and has never had, a monopoly on Ohio talent. Close? No, not really even that close to be honest. They are the clear leader, always have been and always will be, but it's not like several programs haven't been built on Ohio boys as well. Michigan and, to a less extent, Notre Dame, have always done very well in Ohio. Toledo is a battle ground for Michigan and Ohio State. Penn State snags players from Youngstown/NE quite often, no? Cincinnati, and all of the myriad Catholic schools, have been kind to Notre Dame throughout the years.
I don't see much of an impact, if at all. There is simply so much talent in Ohio and this year it is one of the very best in the country. Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, etc will all get their fill and be happy as clams. -
rmolin73Tobias Funke I never stated that the SEC was not corrupt I was just responding to sleeper's comment that Ohio State was the premier school in the country.

False. Oversigning by itself is more morally corrupt than anything Tressel did. It's one thing to lie to the NCAA. It's another thing to lie to kids and parents about their situation in a life decision as important as college.
I'm not talking about legality in the NCAA "rule"book, I'm talking about morality. -

Cry me a freaking river! You OSU fans are getting more and more pathetic every day. If lying isn't just as morally wrong then you have issues. It's not like kids and their parents don't know what they are getting into when they sign that letter of intent. But it's another thing to lie to your bosses and embarass an entire University and program and let down the good kids that will remain whos parents entrusted you with leading them. -
lhslep134rmolin73;805351 wrote: let down the good kids that will remain whos parents entrusted you with leading them.
So in other words you're saying it's morally worse to indirectly lie to parents than to directly lie to them.
Makes perfect sense! Thanks for clarifying!!
You're assuming I'm either forgetting what Tressel did or am somehow blind to the severity of it, neither of which are true. Use some reading comp and get back to me. -
rmolin73I never said that. Lying is lying in my book hope that clarifies it for you.
-
lhslep134rmolin73;805357 wrote:I never said that. Lying is lying in my book hope that clarifies it for you.
You most certainly implied it. You said "it's another thing" which is the universal implication of "much worse". I wholeheartedly disagree with you that it's more morally wrong to lie to the NCAA than to directly lie to parents and kids. As an OSU hater, I can see why you would believe such things, seeing as you're probably an SEC fan and is OKAY with oversigning (see, broad generalization about entire fanbases are fun!!!) -
rmolin73Awww did someones feelings get hurt because I have a different opinion about lying? I simply stated that the kids that sign LOI for an SEC team know that they oversign and that scholarships are only for one year. I for one am against oversigning because it doesn't hurt the University it hurts the kids. I'm not an OSU hater I'm a realist. But once again what Tressel did is morally wrong as well, you can tell yourself all day everyday that it isn't but he lost his job because of it.
-
cats gone wildAnd yet, lhslep you like Florida who is in the SEC and Im sure oversigns. So why would you bash your team? If OSU is getting drilled with criticism, you should at least support the other team you like

But as long as the rules allow it, what choice do they have? If St. Tressel coached in the SEC, he would have to do the same. Or not be there very long.
