You've been ruined, have a nice day.
Well, you're off on several things. First, Tebow is in a class above all of Tressel's goofs so if you are calling your guys "super stars", you have to call Tebow something like "super mega god-like star". And being that, his existence was the single greatest event in the history of the NCAA. He wasn't dirty, he merely exhibited his omnipotence. So, besides the fact that no one really cares what he did wrong, Tebow's greatness means nothing to the conversation about Tressel's status as college football's greatest charlatan. -

Right, but everyone is. And it's annoying trying to defend him because there's a giant gray area. The misconception people have is that if you blame Tressel, you're blaming him for everything, but if you defend him, you're oblivious.
Tressel lied to the NCAA about knowing about Pryor. For that he deserves to be jobless. But he doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting from the media. From the haters? I don't care, haters are going to hate.
I remain very adamant that Tressel wasn't guilty of anything at YSU, and it's funny how ESPN will run a story with one side of the story (that Lotz posted), but yet they refuse to even acknowledge the other side (the Vindicator story). -

He broke NCAA rules. Period. You're hero is a cheater, and I can use that generalization after the comments from the haters about Tressel. -

You can use whatever generalization you want, but there are two things that you fail in accomplishing by doing so: 1) diminishing Tim Tebow's status, 2) making Tressel less of a liar.
Tebow - 2 titles, 1 Heisman, 0 supsensions
Tressel - (at least) 3 lies, 1 unemployment application -

Just proves the medias love affair with Florida and its hate for the greatest university on the planet. Tebow breaks NCAA rules and we hear nothing about it in the media, Tressel accidentally signs a piece of paper and is demonized by the media.enigmaax;807608 wrote:You can use whatever generalization you want, but there are two things that you fail in accomplishing by doing so: 1) diminishing Tim Tebow's status, 2) making Tressel less of a liar.

You are right in that the media loves Florida because they love schools that do things the right way. I know you've taken this especially hard, coming to the realization that your saint is the world's biggest fraud. But that is why God picked Tim Tebow and not Jim Tressel - He knows who is good and who is evil. I also know it sucks having to hear about it every day, but people simply do not like cheaters and liars, especially when they cheat and lie to win something as meaningless as a Big Ten title (hell, Pryor made out like a bandit if he got more than a Bazooka bubblegum wrapper for that ring).
It'll be okay, man. Remember, even though Nebraska was a giant at one time, they've now been downgraded to Big Ten status so it still won't be too difficult for the Buckeyes to run through the conference. And there's always those MAC games, so OSU will still beat up on junior high teams to post a gaudy record year in and year out while the real top notch schools fight it out for national title spots.....and seventh place in the SEC. -

Try Google. It has plenty of garbage for a school who does things the right way. LOL
Also, your attacks against the Big Ten are hilarious, given the Big Ten's all time record against the SEC. With the addition of Nebraska, that ups the record even further and adds more National Titles to the Big Ten's resume(which already is superior to the SEC). The SEC is the second best conference, probably tied with the Big 12, enjoy! -

Uh huh. Please note the self-report - remember, that means that it is okay. What would have been terrible is if Urban Meyer would've known about it and then lied several times in an attempt to cover it up. That is what a paragon of virtue does, as opposed to what a phony/liar does.sleeper;807710 wrote: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5392159

It is one thing to be delusional (greatest this, greatest that), but entirely different to try and re-write facts and be so wrong. Sorry, you don't get conference records and titles for teams that weren't in your conference when they won the games. You are much too crafty to stoop to that desperation anyway.
Further, nobody really cares about shit that didn't happen in their lifetime. I mean, you almost sound like Notre Dame fans trying to talk about how great the roaring 20's were. I know it must suck for you that: 1) Florida has more national titles in our lifetime (heck, in the last 5 years for Florida) than the entire Big Ten, 2) the SEC has more national titles in the last two years than the Big Ten does in about 40 years (2 to 1.5), 3) OSU could only beat an SEC team in a bowl game by employing a band of cheaters, and 4) winning the SEC (even just the championship game) is more of a challenge than winning a national title game. Hey, I'd probably hallucinate too if the alternative was to see the Big Ten and all its ugliness. -

Jim Tressel - 1 tainted national title with a star running back who had taken money, (at least) 1 major violation, (at least) 1 job left in disgrace -

The last stat is highly arguable. You aren't trying to claim that the NCAA is the sole arbiter of that, are you? Bowling Green, arguable. Utah? Disgraceful. -
sleeperrmolin73;807829 wrote:You bash Notre Dame and then give the Big Ten a pass?
The Big Ten has a better heads to head record against the SEC and the conference with the most National Titles. It also is the conference with 4 of the top 7 all time winningest programs. I'd also like to add, the Big Ten is the best academic conference of the Big 6, and is the only conference with all schools in the top 100. By contrast, the SEC boasts the worst academic record, thereby getting recruits with talent on the field but not off, so that just goes to show that despite the adversity of having to recruit top athletes, the Big Ten also has to recruit top students.
There is no debate about which conference is the best, the Big Ten is far and away the leader. -

Not while all of the teams were actually members of the respective conference. Bad try.sleeper;807883 wrote:The Big Ten has a better heads to head record against the SEC .
Actually, it basically has two. Nebraska has 0 wins while part of the little ten (twelve) and Penn State won what, 700 games before it joined?sleeper;807883 wrote: It also is the conference with 4 of the top 7 all time winningest programs.
Of course, that argument actually supports the SEC-is-best side anyway. Obviously when you have only two decent teams and a bunch of creampuffs those two programs are going to win a lot of games. When you expand the list a little bit, you see that the SEC has 6 teams in the top 16 (by %, because raw wins only mean you were playing longer). Every year the SEC has multiple games against top notch programs, not just one rivalry that determines who is better after beating 10 or 11 nobodies. Equally telling is that the biggie smalls conference has two of the worst 8 programs in the country.
I'd also like to add, the Big Ten is the best academic conference of the Big 6, and is the only conference with all schools in the top 100. Aw, #uck...you got me. I'll keep that in mind next time I'm watching #1 national recruit, Terrelle "Everybody Kills People" Pryor represent the University of Ohio State in the god damn NCAA Super Genius Quiz Bowl.
