Should ND coach Brian Kelly step down?

  I know this has been talked about in the basement and the nd thread, but nobody hardly looks at those.
  Looking at the Tressel step down thread, seems like a decent amount of people think he should step down because of witholding the truth from the NCAA. What do you guys think about someone who is responsible for somebody's death?

  Yes, BK made the decision to practice outside; but if the kid didn't think it was safe, he didn't HAVE to go up.

  He was not there long enough to possible think that the tower at notre dame was going to fall over. The last thing I would expect to happen would be that as one would think notre dame would have solid structures and its not like Kelly built it either. I don't think this is his fault but that is just me.

  This will get moved to the basement. No one is protected more than Notre Dame around here because their fans can't handle the truth.

  I believe that OSHA does not make rulings against individuals. The Employer as a single entity is responsible for it's employee's actions

  Also, whoever was in charge of sending the kid up the lift should be let go, be it Kelly or an assistant coach.

  I agree you would figure ND would have better equipment. But I'd figure he had some experience with the scissor lift before whether it was at Grand Valley State, CMU, or Cinci

  The head of the video department has said that all of the student videographers meet, go over the practice schedule, and are then assigned a camera to work. After that they are on their own to get it filmed. I will be absolutely shocked if it is found that someone told him he had to go up and that he couldn't come down. I'm not saying Sullivan is responsible either, as someone should have told him to come down if he hadn't. But other student video guys across the country have said they would have gone up no questions asked just as Sullivan did, because that was their job.

  So? Its someones job at Notre Dame to tell them they cant go up. OSHA agrees

  I think the fault falls on the head of the video department, not BK.
  

  The so-called scissor lifts were not supposed to be used in winds above 28 mph, but the weather service had issued a warning saying winds of 25 mph to 35 mph were expected with gusts of up to 45 mph.
  
  The university was at fault for allowing Sullivan to be in the lift after the weather service had issued the advisory, Torres said.
  
  Collins told the investigator that no one advised him not to use the lifts that day. Collins told him he had monitored weather service reports that said winds were in the mid-20s with gusts between 29 mph and 31 mph.

  If I know that these are not to be used with winds in the upper 20 MPH, I'm not using them with winds in the 20 MPH range.

  I find it hilarious that some people think the head coach of major FBS schools are going around micromanaging things like video students and when the go up in a scissor lift.
  
  There is someone responsible, and it isn't the HC.

  Coach Brian Kelly told Marquell he decides whether to practice outside, relying "on information from my support staff."

  I dont see how part of the blame cant be on Kelly..

  ESPN did another great job trying to stir the pot today. Here is the statement from the Sullivan family they shared:

  This report is an important step in preventing future accidents, but its findings do not change the fact that Declan is not with us.

  Here is the remainder of the statement which was omitted:

  There are people in place for that. He probably didn't even notice a kid or a scissor lift was even present. You guys simplify this way too much.
