Should ND coach Brian Kelly step down?

Why do you think it was added? Because people don't want you posting on this thread. -

This was one of those freak, tragic accidents where people learned a hard lesson and will now be more aware of situations like this.
Absolutely agree. I think Kelly would be the first to admit that he is ultimately responsible, and he probably feels horrible about it. He will probably have that on his conscious for the rest of his life and that is a punishment far worse than stepping down/being fired. -
Pick6battle hit that shot from state college!

Then again, maybe they're just conducting a thorough investigation and that takes some time....regardless of how black and white it seems to you. -

So if they know, don't you think the university should hold that person accountable? I'm sorry, but if someone displayed negligence in this manner (that ultimately cost someone their life) then that person should be, at a minimum, relieved of their duties. What's your point that we will never know? How do you know we will never know? If the university is still conducting an ongoing investigation, it is safe to say that the possibility that someone is fired is still out there. If that happens it will be made public and we will know who the direct supervisor of Sullivan was.
I understand your blind allegiance to ND, but try to look at this from a nuetral standpoint. Someone has to be punished by NOTRE DAME. The school has to maintain an image, IMO, that they have control and that they will not accept or tolerate negligent employees. -

It's not a trick question, so I'm not sure what there is to "bite" on. But just on its face, it proves:
1) Tressel is aware of severe weather conditions.
2) He considers those conditions when factoring in the safety of his cameramen/crew.
3) If he doesn't feel its safe for the cameramen, he will move the practice indoors.
4) He has the authority to make the decision as to whether practice outdoors or indoors.
5) He takes responsibility for the safety of his cameramen. -
rock_knutne^^^^He also lies to the authorities.

Good for him. That still doesn't make him responsible for a weather related accident to a cameraman. Again, that just means that he thought of it. -

I think that he is ultimately responsible(comes with the territory of being a head coach), but he is not 100% responsible. As I said before, I'm sure Kelly feels absolutely horrible about the incident, and it will be something that he will have to deal with for the rest of his life. That is a punishment far worse than not being the coach at ND. He(and others around the country) will learn from this mistake and hopefully this does not happen at ND or any other university again. -

Kelly lies to his team, so? -

Completely agree, as the leader he is ultimately responsible, but there isn't anything good resulting from terminating his employment. -

LMFAO.......you're desperate! First off, show me some proof and O$U fans should keep their yappers shut when it comes to accusing another coach about lying, it seems more and more like Tressel wrote the book on it! -
Pick6Proof are you serious? Maybe you forgot that Kelly coached a team called Cincinnati before he coached at "Our Lady"..to refresh your memory he told his team he wasnt going anywhere just to bail on them before a BCS game.
I'd rather have a coach lie to protect his players than lie and screw his players over. -

Wow!!!!!!!! You want to talk about being seriuos. LMFAO!!!!!
How did Kelly lie to his players at Cincy? What does any coach say when he's being pursued by another school to take over their program, especially when it's a monumental step up? What's even funnier is you're trying to compare coach speak on a guy who's taking another job to a coach who blantantly lied about serious infractions surrounding his football team to the highest governing body of the sport............fucking laughable!
AND.......if you think Tressel lied to protect his players I have a bridge I want to sell you! -

I just explained how he lied. If you cant comprehend that, I dont know what to tell you. -

You explained JACK SHIT! All coaches in that position say the exact same thing.......can you comprehend that? Probably not seeing as you believe Tressel lied to protect his players.Pick6;717097 wrote:I just explained how he lied. If you cant comprehend that, I dont know what to tell you. -

Didn't Matta pull something similar when leaving X ("I'm staying" and then bounced)? -

This isn't about Matta, but yeah. He didnt throw them under the bus before the tournament though. -

And you completely made up the "ND specifically only" thing anyway based on the quotes in the original thread, so what's your point? -

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!! It's the same fucking thing and if I remember correctly, the Xavier fans wanted his head on a platter, but let me guess, it's OK because it's Matta and O$U.:rolleyes:Pick6;717111 wrote:This isn't about Matta, but yeah. he took the job in the offseason, not while they were preparing for their biggest game of the year. -
