Major program to get hit with major accusations

  • OneBuckeye
Bill Green an OSU writer for scout.com said a major news outlet would publish a story soon on major violations by a big time program, not one many would expect. It'll be released before the summer and include all the info like name, dates, $ given, etc. Much of the speculation on rivals boards are PSU and ND.

I noticed on Shaggy Bevo a couple posters speculated OSU because we lost a defensive player, which is stupid reasoning. Anyways, who did we lose? I was not aware of this.

On a side note, I don't think it's OSU. It says the allegations would be a surprise to people, but with some of OSU's problems being in the spot light, I don't think they'd qualify as a surprise.

Feelings are that it's actually s Big Ten school, so I'd guess Penn State or Michigan on the basis that both are high profile programs and haven't had too many violations against them (except for Rich Rod practice fiasco). I could see boosters taking advantage of Joe Pa's senility or Rich Rod turning a blind eye to corrupt shit. But here's hoping that it's actually Wisconsin if it's a Big Ten school :)

We didn't lose anyone. That was a rumor going around a month ago and nothing came of it.

Well, it's probably nobody in the SEC, because they would find a way to cover that shit up.

    From shaggybevo:
    Wofford.

Those cheating sons of bitches are finally going down.

And nobody would be surprised by it.

Speculation about rumors about a potential story? Hmmm...I'd like to see the original post from Scout if anyone has access.

    Paraphrasing Bill Greene....

(A program is about to be OUTED by a news outlet...and by OUTED, the source who began this is talking of payments, etc. Also says it is not a program that many would suspect...which leaves OSU safe. )

    *end paraphrase of Bill Greene
    That is all I got.

Interesting. Stanford sounds like it could be a likely candidate.

It cant be an SEC school because it stated people will be surprised at which school it is.

Can we get a vbookie bet going on?

I spoke to someone who sat in on one of the investigations into the whole tattoo situation, and he said that only part of the story is out and there is a lot more out there. I wonder if that's part of the reason why their punishments were so severe? But at the same time, if those players expected more, wouldn't they have left for the pros?

Maybe Oregon or Oklahoma State? Lots of donor money going on around those programs.

I think Oregon is the last place that ever gets in trouble with their association with Phil Knight. It would hurt Nike too much for Phil Knight to be doing anything against NCAA rules.

I can only hope that it isn't Ohio State, Michigan, or Notre Dame based on what would happen on this site. Texas, Oklahoma, USC (fingers crossed although that wouldn't really be surprising to anyone except Kiffin), or Florida State would be my guesses at this point.
  • gerb131
Since it said Big Time that excludes 99% of the Big East and ACC.
Going with an SEC school say Bama?

Ohio State isn't a "major" football program in your expert opinion?

Normally I'd guess an SEC program, but we all know how good they are at covering their shit up. I'd also go with ND, but we all know they are already terrible, so they aren't going to kick them while they are down.

TCU? Further explaining the other thread relating to a covered up rape case in 2006?

Ohio State is excluded from most people's mind due to the sentence saying it will be a surprise.

People guessing Clemson too but I don't even consider them a major program right now. They have a good history and are definitely making recuriting waves these days, but I just don't classify them as a major program. However, didn't they have a new recruit a few few years ago who had a Myspace picture where he was holding about 30 $100 bills?

So this is just pure speculation and guessing at this point?

    Me Likey!

I'll take Notre Dame at 10-1 please.
