This whole thread is "I've heard, rumors are, etc, etc."
Let me play, I've heard that it is....USC again.
So the facts I posted aren't facts?! I'm confused. -

Considering the sources, I'm not sure.
Those are blogs and sport forums, sure they have have "facts" on their sites, but if those are facts, why had no other news media source picked up the story? Why are no other SEC papers or sport writers really picking this up?
I've seen nothing legit on this. So, until I see someone of authority saying shit is about to go down, I remain skeptical. -

I understand the skepticism, but the links I posted contain facts and facts only, not just some blogger's opinion. And truthfully, I don't think anyone besides this guy has taken the time to put all of this stuff together (and, my assumption, NCAA investigators). -

The NCAA could definitely use a facelift lol. -

OneBuckeyeI am soooooo hoping this is true.

as I've maintained all along, it's not if, but when...down you go, cheater!!! -
passwordThis just goes to show that the NCAA is a joke and all they were concerned about was the implications it would have on the National Championship game and its revenue. This was the year of looking the other way with the Newton pay for play scheme and then they suspend the Ohio State players 5 games next year when they should have been suspended as soon as the violations were made public. They are only concerned about money and that will never change. We all know that Auburn would have had their butts handed to them if Newton was ineligible and Ohio State would have been Embarrassed again on the grand stage without their players. They did not have a problem punishing USC for Reggie because his parents may have accepted money or a home.
Before anyone throws a temper tantrum about my Ohio State comment, you have to be fair with the punishment regardless of what the school name is. -

The guy is an Alabama fan. I'm taking his word with a huge grain of salt.
I'm still not holding my breath on any of this.
If it is Auburn, cool, but that would not be a surprise to anyone, and not be applicable to the OP. -

I think most OSU fans thought that was a bullshit punishment. It was all about the money and always will be. -
FatHobbitOf course now that everyone made some money off of Auburn they can bring the hammer down. It won't make a difference and everyone already got paid.

not i. i think 4 games is the standard (since thats what they gave AJ Green). I have no problem with them bumping it to 5 and saying "rather than miss the bowl game, you're sitting an extra game next year." I'd also have had no problem with them saying "you'll sit the bowl game and the first 3 next year."
as long as their is a precedent for the punishment being given i have no problem with it. don't want any punishment? don't do any crime. and if you're not sure if what you're doing is kosher, look it up. accidental violations are still violations. -

I worded that poorly. I think most OSU fans thought it was bullshit that they got to wait until next year to serve the punishment. Either they broke rules or they didn't. -

i see. yeah it was sketchy but like i said they got an extra game for being able to play 1/4. -

Though I don't agree w/ letting the 5 Buckeyes play in the Sugar Bowl, the punishment was following the NCAA by-laws. Also, I doubt the NCAA had enough at the time to do anything with Newton. The NCAA doesn't have subpoena powers, so they only have what the FBI can give them at the time to work with.password;695676 wrote:This just goes to show that the NCAA is a joke and all they were concerned about was the implications it would have on the National Championship game and its revenue. They did not have a problem punishing USC for Reggie because his parents may have accepted money or a home.

karen lotzListening to the Herd and Colin said it isn't Auburn.

But he said someone is about to get outed. Wonder if he knows or where he is getting his sources. -
karen lotzYeah I had it on in the background so I didn't catch everything he said. Something about the company (ESPN?) is still trying to get confirmation before he can announce it but he is hearing its not Auburn but another major program.
-
me_myself_iCowherd is usually pretty good at getting information from sources. He tells stuff before it is usually out there.
-
karen lotzAgreed but this is probably something he can't really jump the gun on too much.
-
lhslep134Karen, regardless of Colin's past, there is NOTHING that leads me to believe it's anyone other than Auburn. Straight corruption over there, and not just in the athletic department.
