2011 Michigan Recruiting

bogeyInteresting to think that Mallet transferred when RR was hired because he wanted to run the spread and get a running quarterback in.....now Denard has to wonder what the next coach will want to run. I haven't seen Robinson much, so I can't speak intelligently about his ability to run a pro style offense???
-
Fly4FunNah, it wasn't Nikki, it was liek 3030brutus3030 or some shit like that. He pretended to be an OSU fan... but had a mancrush on RRod.

Probably better than Pryor runs one. I don't see anyone leaving. If they chose to go there with Rick Rod as head coach they probably just really love M*ch*gan football and would stay no matter what.sportchampps;624505 wrote:If they bring in Harbaugh or Brady Hoke (2 names I keep hearing) they both run NFL style offenses and most guys wont fit their system. DOes anyone think this will lead to players leaving again. How well could Denard run a PRO style offense. -

The guy took STANFORD from 1-11 to 12-1 within 4yrs. That is a remarkable accomplishment at a place that is not considered a football factory by any means. I would venture to say, that at Mich, he could have Mich very competative by year 2, and looking really good by year 3. I think RR has brought in some offensive talent. But it would take a couple years to get the defense revamped.
Interesting note, did anyone know that he is brother in law to IU bball coach Tom Crean? -

Very interesting!
As for Rich Rod at Michigan, I don't think anyone would doubt that he would have Michigan back near the top of the Big 10 within three years. As much as I respect Tressel, he instantly becomes the best coach in the Big 10.
The way Gruden was praising him last night was all I needed to confirm that he is far more advanced than most college coaches. -

Yup, Crean was on Stanford's sideline in South Bend this past fall and got a good deal of camera time.centralbucksfan;624610 wrote:Interesting note, did anyone know that he is brother in law to IU bball coach Tom Crean? -
buckeyes_wooweeNot a sexy pick at all but if I was Michigan I would take a look at Chuck Martin

charliehustle14Yeah it was brutus3030. The fat bearded OSU fan who was in love with Rich Rod. Said he was related to him and said that OSU fans better get their licks in now because he'd have UM playing at a level that only OSU could ever dream of.
Turns out, having a defensive that pathetic is actually something OSU fans could only dream of.
He also said some other ridiculous stuff. Like how incoming freshman Tate Forcier would do more in a single season with Rich Rod than TP would do in a career. -

Nation's #8 Cornerback. He also says Michigan is still his top choice but wants to make sure. I assume we'll see a lot more of this in the next few days.Text from DB Dallas Crawford said he is now re-opening his recruitment after hearing the news at Michigan today. He's gone back and forth. -
karen lotzThere are now reports that no decision has been made on RichRod and there won't be one until tomorrow. Players meeting that was scheduled for tonight at 7 has been moved to 4 pm tomorrow.

Which in all probability means that Harbaugh gave them the FU... -

IggyPride00Harbaugh is an NFL guy. I am sure he has seen the success his brother has had with the Ravens, and wants to prove that he can do it at the highest level too.
He will never have more leverage as far as landing an NFL job under his terms than he does right now.
Michingan is a destination job, not a stop along for a few years on the way to the NFL. It is a better job than Stanford, but when you deep down know you want to be an NFL coach it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to go there for 3-4 years knowing you're going to bolt to the NFL anyway (assuming you continue at the level of success that affords you the opportunities you have now).
If I were him I would be all over the San Francisco job. He could literally live in the house he is living in now, and there is enough talent there that if he could get a competent QB given the shitty NFL west they could be in the playoffs almost immediately. He played high school football where he is living now, and from everything I have read is extremely comfortable out there.
He is 47 years old. While not old the NFL window is not going to be there forever if he doesn't make the move in the next 4-5 years. When else would he have the chance to become an NFL head coach without having to move from a place he is comfortable and his family is happy without even having to buy a new house? -

Because he won a few games at Stanford? OK. -

Agree...hopefully there was some sarcasm. I think very highly of Harbaugh. But what he did last nite, Tressel has done a number of times. And it wasn't like they beat up on anyone special. It was Va Tech...who is now currently 1-27 vs Top 5 teams. -
SportsAndLadyJust to add to the last couple posts, how are you sold on someone because of what one announcer (jon gruden) says about that person? So basically you go off what other people say and don't form your own opinions on the guy?
-
Fab1bKinda like everyone keeps putting Iowa's Ferentz in front of Tress in the Big 10. Tress is hands down the best coach in the Big 10 and has been since 2002!
-
WebFireYeah this is turning into a nightmare. Also, Dallas Crawford decommitted. When it rains it pours.

It's been up for 1-2 weeks. -

Hahaha if that's true how come they can't get their pick for coach
