What makes you different from some Muslim telling me the same thing?
The Muslim won't tell you the truth about Jesus! Mohammed is dead!

Jesus is alive! Jesus, is God! God, is Jesus!

series, it's wednesday, take a chance and attend an athiest meeting and ask all the questions you want and see if you can honestly come back here and say all these things. If you do that, i'll attend a bible study

That is a fallacy. If he is your God then, he is your God and your God alone. You can't project your belief of God on to other people and say that it is true for them. If a person doesn't believe in a God, or your God there is nothing you can do about it. Saying "My God is your God too" is a level of debate commonly found on school yards at recess.

Good luck with that. The religious aren't to good with the opposing view points.

You are right, except for the part about where this level of debate takes place. It takes place all over the place--which is exactly why religion causes so many problems. People trying to project their belief on others.

    The Holy Bible!

Being a Christian man, I've given you all that I can. After that, all I can tell you is to study the Bible, study the Koran. The truth will set you free.

That's exactly why there are problems.

There is no difference. You have to find through your own journey what the truth is.

Since it's Wednesday, the Church of Heretic is having a College Basketball Study happening tonight! I plan to take an in-depth look at the pressing issue of whether Seton Hall or Notre Dame will prove their worth to make the NCAA tournament.

While it might be too late in the day to openly invite all of you to come and ask questions pertaining to this and other important dealings (including "can Texas right their sinking ship"), I would guess there are plenty of College Basketball Studies happening around the state tonight.

There is nothing about either book that warrants it being called the truth--that is to be interpreted by everyone.

But thanks Series, you've been a good sport. Over the course of this time I think I've accomplished the goal of getting you to prove my point with plenty of examples.

Just one final question for Series:

Con_Alma clearly has some different views than you do, and some the same. So why is there this inconsistency between two Christians? Or do you not consider him a Christian because he doesn't believe the Bible is the absolute truth for everyone.

that is irrelevant. It's called getting the opposite side of the argument, just as you want me to attend a bible study, go and see for yourself what the other argument has to offer. If you do, I'll go to a bible study.

The truth doesn't come from the Bible or Koran it comes for your belief in them. If you don't believe in either of them there will be no truth in them for you.

Whoa...wait minute. I do believe that the Bible is the truth for everybody. Everybody doesn't, however, believe it's the truth for themselves.

Ok, fair enough, I get where you're coming from. But you also believe that people can find their own truth in some other religion...so you still differ from Series in a big way. That's more along the lines of what I meant.
  • Con_Alma
    Gottcha.

Not Only can people find their own truth it's the only way people with find truth. We learn most effectively by experiencing and observing....not being preached to.

It's been my experience that people come to know Christ more commonly by investing in their own search for truth and by watching others around them than by people spoon feeding them information.

"Preach the Gospel at all times....when necessary use words."

The only goal accomplished and point proven is that you don't except Christianity. For all those who hold to that ideology, I'm well aware that this conversation would do nothing to alter that belief.
  • SQ_Crazies
Well, if they're as bat shit crazy as you, count me out of that group and I'm not really worried about what they think of me either. LOL, no offense, I don't mean to be a dick in saying that--I like you, we had a good discussion on this topic--I just think you're nuts! ;)

    I hear you!

But, on a blog what can you do but use words! I did "spoon feed" them from the best plate possible, The "Good Book"!
