Was Palmer there for Week 3? I know Floyd had a good game, and I thought Palmer was already hurt.jmog;1661951 wrote:My once deep/good WRs now are looking in shambles.
AJ Green is likely out with turf toe.
D. Hopkins plays the #2 team against WRs in Indy
K. Wright has had exactly 1 good game
K. Allen has been a huge disappointment (1 good game)
M. Floyd was great when Palmer played, has been non-existent since.
I have to play 2 of these guys this week...
He seems like an extreme boom-or-bust player.
Week 1: Good
Week 2: Bad
Week 3: Good
Week 4: (Bye)
Week 5: Bad
Based on your guys, I'd still put in Hopkins and hope for 5 catches, hoping for maybe one going for a long gain. TD would be a bonus.
Other than that, I'd probably go Wright. He's only had one game under 7 targets, though your yardage won't be much.
Allen has been Wright minus the TDs this year. Short yardage per catch. Plus, I don't like his matchup this week. I'd take Wright against Jacksonville's secondary over Allen against Oakland's.
If you need a home run, I might still use Floyd and hope for a good game, but obviously he's high-risk-high-reward.
I don't love Hillman, but he did manage over 4.0 YPC over 15 carries against a decent Arizona run D, though one of those was a 16-yarder, which skews the results a little. His lack of use in the passing game on a record-setting passing day for Manning makes me nervous, too.CCRolly;1661952 wrote:Better Flex in PPR League? Ronnie Hillman @ Jets, Darren Sproles vs. NYG, DeSean Jackson @ Arizona, or Roddy White vs. Bears.
Sproles has done a good job with the touches he's gotten (almost 7 YPC and close to 200 yards on 16 snags), but for some reason, the Eagles aren't giving him an expanded role. With Shady's woes this year, I would hope it happens, but I wouldn't count on it this week. It's a good matchup, though, so I guess it's possible he breaks one off.
I'm not high on DJax, typically, as he's like Floyd this year. Boom-or-bust. However, with that Arizona pass D being what it is, I actually like him this week.
I wouldn't touch White until he does something. He's been a TD-dependent play, and even then, he hasn't been thrilling.
All in all, I'd definitely go DJax as the most confident play among the four. After that, I would guess Hillman because of the touches he'll probably get, but I wouldn't love doing it. -
TBone14Good post and analysis.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to O-Trap again.
Palmer hasn't played since opening night. Looks like he may go Sunday but a late game Sunday afternoon will make it tough to make the call lineup wise if you are waiting to hear if he is active unless it comes out that he is definitely playing today or tomorrow.O-Trap;1662019 wrote:Was Palmer there for Week 3? I would personally roll with White. Reason being, I'm pretty sure this game has the highest over under for the week. More projected points means more opportunity to hit paydirt. I fully expect both teams to be airing it out, and that means Roddy should have ample opportunity with Julio likely seeing bracket coverage.O-Trap;1662019 wrote:I don't love Hillman, but he did manage over 4.0 YPC over 15 carries against a decent Arizona run D, though one of those was a 16-yarder, which skews the results a little. lhslep134Would you guys do this? I really don't have anyone to drop by I only have 1 QB and it's Brees on bye week so I'd prefer to trade than just drop Cordaralle.
I give:
Brees
R. Jennings
Cordaralle
I get:
Rivers
T. Williams
Mark Ingram
At RB I have Andre, who I think will eat into Jennings' carries when he comes back, Lamar Miller, and Carlos Hyde. -
Dr. KnOiTaLL
Heck no man, if you need to drop someone to add a QB for this week, drop Hyde. Jennings is still going to be the bellcow when he gets back. Also, see below:lhslep134;1662099 wrote:Would you guys do this? I really don't have anyone to drop by I only have 1 QB and it's Brees on bye week so I'd prefer to trade than just drop Cordaralle.

"Vikings OC Norv Turner says the team is "anxious" to get Cordarrelle Patterson more involved on offense."We’ve gone in every week anxious to get him involved," Norval said. "We’re trying to." Turner's comments echo those made by coach Mike Zimmer last Friday, but Zimmer also added that Patterson "needs to get open." We actually believe Minnesota is trying to make C-Patt a bigger part of the offense, but he's not making it easy by struggling to create his own looks. Hopefully some consistency at quarterback will help his game take off." -

I'm not so sure about that. He's not durable and Williams is a more than capable backup. Jennings will be the lead back for sure, but not so far as to stop Williams from getting some "workload-easing" carries.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1662100 wrote: Jennings is still going to be the bellcow when he gets back.
But I agree with you I'm giving up more value than I'm getting back. -
Dr. KnOiTaLL
I am, Williams (while being a more than capable backup) has 1 run over 20 yards and an average of 3.1 yards per carry on 51 carries. That's kind of sad considering he's operating with ProFootballFocus's #3 ranked offensive line (#4 in run blocking) in the NFL. Not to mention, in 3 of 5 games, his longest run went for 5 yards.lhslep134;1662103 wrote:I'm not so sure about that. He's not durable and Williams is a more than capable backup. I'm not saying he won't be good in the future, but Jennings is averaging 4.4 yards per carry on the season even after facing 3 top-10 defenses against the run in Arizona, Washington, and Detroit. Just saying, I think it would be a foolish trade. -
Laley23Drop Hyde, you can probably pick him back up next week anyway.
-
lhslep134
Yeah that's what I'm leaning towards doing if I can't pull off a different trade.Laley23;1662112 wrote:Drop Hyde, you can probably pick him back up next week anyway.
Hyde has value in my league because of our keeper system, but I'm already planning on keeping Josh Gordon for a 9th next year. -
lhslep134
I agree. I don't think it's worth blowing up my team full of guys I'm high on who started slow (V-Jax, Patterson, Lesean, Brees) just because I started 2-3.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1662107 wrote: Just saying, I think it would be a foolish trade. -
GOONx19I'm very happy with my team right now. 2nd in points scored, but still 2-3. I've got some decisions this week.
Pick 2 RB, 3 WR, and 1 flex:
Lacy vs MIA, Gore vs STL, Oliver vs OAK, Asiata vs DET, West vs PIT.
D. Thomas vs Jets, Sanders vs Jets, Sanu vs Carolina, T. Williams vs Seattle, Randle vs Eagles.
Josh Gordon in waiting.
Right now I plan on playing the first 3 I listed for each, but I'm a little more unsure about WR. Standard scoring. Thoughts? -

In a ppr or 1/2 ppr I'd probably stick with Sanders over Randle, but I wouldn't play both Thomas and Sanders in standard when Randle is going up against a terrible Eagles secondary. -
lhslep134After some negotiating back and forth this is the trade I made:
Brees
VJax
Wallace
Jennings
L Miller
for
Rivers
Dez
Alfred
M Evans
M Ingram
My lineup now:
QB Rivers RB Lesean; Alfred; Tate; Andre Williams; Ingram; Hyde WR Dez, Kelvin, Gordon, Evans, Patterson TE Miller
IMO a much fairer trade than the one I previously asked about. -
SportsAndLadyYeah you raped him
Unless brees starts to dominate like he can. If he doesn't though (which I don't think he will) you made out like a bandit. -
Laley23You win as of now, but if Brees goes to old form and Rivers cools off, it will be much fairer. As of now, you win big time. Arguably got the 2 best players in the deal lol.

I don't disagree that it could be a high-scoring affair, but that logic applies to all ball-catchers on the Falcons team.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1662090 wrote:I would personally roll with White. Here's a scary comparison:
Roddy White: 16 catches, 213 yards, 2 TDs
Devin Hester: 14 catches, 212 yards, 1 TD
Roddy is looking closer to Hester than he is to Julio (40 catches, 552 yards, 3 TDs respectively). And with the high scoring, I'm betting it will, at best, be a rising tide that lifts all ships.
I know Roddy missed a game, but he hasn't eclipsed 5 receptions in a game when healthy, and he hasn't faced a top-10 defense against the pass. Heck, the Giants and Saints are pretty bad against the pass, and he only has 7 catches for 98 yards and a score against both of them combined.
Don't get me wrong. If he has the ability to summon the Roddy of old, he can torch virtually any team. I don't know what it is, but he just doesn't look like he has it. With Hillman getting a guaranteed 12-15 touches in the upcoming game, I have to think he's the safest play.
Yeah, I don't know about that, man. I think the ONLY reason he cut into Jennings' carries against Washington was because they were coming off a short week, and Jennings had gotten 34 carries on the Sunday prior.lhslep134;1662103 wrote:I'm not so sure about that. Williams might have had a larger slice of the offensive pie if he was a receiving threat, but I wouldn't look for him to get serious time once Jennings is healthy. Still, while Jennings is out, he's a good play to get a lot of touches, I think.
RB: E. Lacy and F. GoreGOONx19;1662124 wrote:I'm very happy with my team right now. 2nd in points scored, but still 2-3. I've got some decisions this week.

WR: D. Thomas, E. Sanders, and R. Randle (normally, I don't like the idea of starting two WRs on the same team, but in a Peyton Manning offense, I make exceptions)
Flex: B. Oliver -- Dude went bananas last week.

If it's PPR, it's close. Quick has actually been pretty consistent in fantasy terms, and at a decent level. Gore is a little more volatile, but he's still a high-upside start, despite his age.Raw Dawgin' it;1662223 wrote:I traded Brian Quick for Frank Gore. I feel like I won that deal.
