Disgusted with Trump administration - Part I

Not defending it jackass, just pointing out it isn't illegal or treason. People can still think Trump is better than HRC, and also think he is a moron at times. I know it's difficult for you to grasp that people can have independent opinions and not toe the company line at all times. What action should there be? It isn't impeachable for telling Russia that ISIS has figured out how to blow up laptops on an airplane. Was it stupid if he told them how we found out, especially with Russia's ties to Syria? Sure. Is Trump a dumbass? Sure. Is it impeachable or "treason"? Nosleeper;1853162 wrote:Glad to see the Fox News patrol is out defending Trump de-classifying information to the Russians.
And yes the GOP is complicit. Look at the approval ratings; 80% of Republicans still stand by Trump. When's the last day we've gone without a scandal? GOP is complicit in their inaction. -
ptown_trojans_1The President can tell what he wants to who he wants technically. But, holy shit, this is dumb. Way to throw an ally, likely Jordan, under the bus.
The whole go after the leakers is insane as at this point, the whole WH leaks. Some stories have 20-30 sources. So, what, lock them all up?
This is how DC works. People talk to the press.
I'll also add this was the Russian meeting where there was only Russian press and photos. No U.S. press or photos at all.
Also, if this happened under Obama, holy shit, Quaker and others would be on here yelling for his impeachment. -

It took 50 years for the Watergate source "Deepthroat" to reveal himself. You don't need a PhD in journalism to understand that any credible media doesn't reveal sources and doesn't publish content that they can't verify with a credible source. I hope WaPo responds by releasing the transcript heavily redacted to remove security concerns.fish82;1853168 wrote:I'll ask again. How soon can we expect this story to be confirmed via sworn testimony? Easier still, how soon can we expect the story to be confirmed by subpoena of the meeting transcript? If the story is credible, we can assume that Adam Schiff will be in front of a camera somewhere today demanding it, no?
I'm inclined to wait for that to happen before breaking out the torches/pitchforks. If you want to continue foaming at the kock holster over an unsubstantiated story from the crew who breathlessly reported that Russia hacked our electrical grid...knock yourself out.
Keep defending Trump though! -
supermanJust making sure I understand the liberals like ptown and sleeper here.
When it comes to White House leaks, don't worry about the source of the leaks, worry about the content.
When it comes to the DNC leaks, don't worry about the content, worry about the source of the leaks.
Am I missing something? -

In your opinion, how quickly can Adam Schiff produce the meeting transcript, and settle the story's authenticity? -

Even if Congress gets briefed on the subject with a transcript, any hearings or whatnot would be weeks or months away just due to scheduling and compelling people to testify.
Also, the transcript would be classified, so any hearings would be behind closed door in order to get to the bottom of it. -

Gosh a ruddies, as of now the first part of your statement is correct. McMaster's credibility is shit.fish82;1853165 wrote:Yeah, McMaster's credibility is for shit, amirite?
Looking forward to to the WaPo "sources" clearing this up during sworn testimony. Again, how soon can we expect that to happen?
Donald throws another member of his administration under the bus. -

DNC leaks were meant to undermine the election so yes we need to figure out if those leaks were colluded with the Trump campaign.superman;1853179 wrote:Just making sure I understand the liberals like ptown and sleeper here.

The White House leaks are not good but because the content is so much more damaging than the leaks themselves they are justified. Flynn would still be the NSA without the leaks for example. -

Two, those are completely different things.
The DNC Hack was a foreign government, Russia, hacking a political party and using Wikileaks to post the information. The news out of the White House is your normal leaking that happens at every White House with people. Sure, the White House should tighten up their own ship, but it not outside the norm. We had White House people leaking under Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, etc. It's DC and this is the swamp. Trump wants to drain the swamp, seems like he should start with his own White House first. Again, some of these stories have 20-30 sources. -
sleeperNow Trump, in contradiction to McMaster is defending his right to share secrets with the Russians.
And the GOP still supports and condones these actions. -
sleeperI'm also not a liberal either. I'm a moderate.
If you believe that I am a liberal, check yourself because you are likely so far right that everyone seems left. -

Depends how you define "liberal." You definitely are an apologist for the left, but overall I think you would be considered left moderate.ptown_trojans_1;1853195 wrote:One, I am not a liberal. Maybe, compared to some of the crazy yahoos on here I am.

sleeperhttp://www.newsweek.com/us-officials-warned-israel-not-share-sensitive-intel-trump-609782
How much longer is the GOP going to enable this President who is putting our national security at risk with his lack of credibility to allies?U.S. intelligence officials reportedly warned their Israeli counterparts to exert caution in sharing top secret information with Donald Trump’s administration for fear of it being passed to Russia and then to Moscow’s ally and Israel’s arch-enemy, Iran.
Discussions between U.S. and Israeli security services prior to Trump’s inauguration on January 20 gave rise to concerns that sensitive intelligence might exchange hands between him and the Russian government, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported in January.
He needs to be removed before it gets worse. The blood is now on the GOP's hands. -

The reality is, I try to maintain objectivity and remain unbiased to any idea. The fact that adjusting my opinions to reality is seen as "an act" is really quite telling to the current political discourse. We should always be adjusting our position to align to reality instead of toeing the party line like a team sport.
But anyways, please continue your personal crusade and distract from the main issues facing our country. Dare I say, "complicit". -

Such as? Telling Russia the city where ISIS is making laptop bombs does not harm us. It may hurt our allegiance with whatever group gathered that intel, and EVERYONE AGREES HE'S A FUCKING MORON IF HE DID, but it still isn't impeachable. Keep pretending conservatives condone actions that is obviously false.sleeper;1853188 wrote:putting information that could harm us and our allies as being an impeachable offense.
