The National Review has a good point. That said, the current leaks contain SIGNIT, and were done from within our own intelligence community.

Kinda apples/oranges, really...yet the hypocrisy angle still has some legitimacy.

    1. I'm interested in what was discussed, but if it was beyond a personal conversation (most likely is, lets be real) then we have a serious problem.

    2. I think we all can agree that the NSA has been spying on our own people, which is fucked up alone. They are now blatantly working AGAINST the people. This is a massive slippery slope and why I fucking despise the NSA. The content of Flynn is out there/will come out and the content should be judged regardless of the source. However, if anyone is a fan of liberty they should not be comfortable with what the NSA is doing.
And to have the senate minority leader boast that the "intelligence community has six ways from Sunday to get back at you", it's very troubling. You don't criticize the Deep State. As for the Flynn issue the only crime we know for sure that has been committed was by someone in the IC. First its leaked that a phone conversation occurred. Once Trump officials began making statements on the matter it was leaked that theses statements could be proven false. Only the "damaging" parts the leaker released outside of their context that paint a murky picture have come out.

You do realize that Obama sent his national security guy overseas before he took office?

So obama gave NSA broad new powers at the 11th hour...............

Clinton and Obama are going to have the dnc machine running hard against trump for four years. He should just run an investigation into the e-mail server to shut them up

The pay-to-play, personal enrichment, fraud and money-laundering scheme from the State Dept is where the massive criminality exists. Always good to have that in your back pocket.

All of a sudden the loudest voices were all silent months ago when the actual sec. Of state was violating federal laws.

Well at least Mattis has the balls to say it. Thank god for him in the administration; probably the only sensible head in the entire Trump administration.

Defense Secretary James Mattis on Thursday said that there was "very little doubt" Russia has attempted to interfere in democratic elections in the past.

"There is very little doubt that they have either interfered or attempted to interfere in a number of elections in democracies," Mattis said while answering questions at NATO headquarters in Brussels.

He added that he does not feel compelled to respond to Russian officials who were not pleased with his call to deal with Moscow from a position of strength.

"I have no need to respond to the Russian statement at all. NATO has always stood for military strength and protection of democracies and the freedoms we intend to pass on to our children," he said.

He didn't have the "balls" to specifically identify that they have interfered with U.S. elections though. Seemed like a pretty vague statement.

It needs to be investigated. Trump has flat out denied any Russian involvement so it was nice to see someone inside his administration finally admit to it.

Mattis also came out strongly in support of NATO which detracts from Trump's idea that NATO is worthless.

I have no problems with such an investigation. I hope it happens. ...but don't assume Mattis publicly claimed Russian interference with the U.S. election. He didn't.

There is value in NATO. I believe Mattis has also publicly stated that NATO countries need to start paying their "dues".

He said it was possible. That is all I can ask for is someone with integrity.

I don't dispute a possibility. I laugh at those who state that it's a certainty.

Well when there is smoke there is fire and given the administrations lack of attention to the issue it leads me to believe there is more fire than smoke.

Great. Investigate...or don't....but lets be clear that Mattis didn't claim interference has taken place in the U.S. elections.

Relax Con_Alma. We are clear. No need to get all defensive.

However, I prefer we investigate. The "or don't" part of your post concerns as a Democracy-loving American.

I couldn't be more relaxed. As previously stated, I have no problem with an investigation taking place....but I really don't care if one does or doesn't.

    Your concern is duly noted.

He never said NATO was worthless .............he merely wants other NATO nations to shoulder their "fair share".

Your the ones who say there is zero vote fraud ...........so now explain how the Russians hacked the election.

    What a SHAM.

But if it makes you happy, keep running with it.

I see. Glad to know national security and corruption is not on your 'care' list.
