    Hard to disagree. But that's also how marketing/branding types are programmed to think. Image/Perception/Popularity is what matters...substance not so much.

    You'll never see Trump talking merits of policy. A populist attempts to govern by popular mandate....he's a more extreme version of Obama in that regard.

    Could Trump have done better? Doubtful. Maybe Romney, but Romney lost because Obama's numbers post-recession were on the upswing.

    Yeah, Obama never flat out lied about people giving him a 5 minute standing ovation. The speech was livestreamed and the clapping, largely from his own supporters, lasted maybe 20 seconds before Trump exited the stage.

    This is North Korea level of propaganda and narcissism.

    It will be a difficult debate to settle because we are past due for a recession, but the regulatory environment Obama presided over, along with other policies, will ultimately prove to have hurt growth significantly. But the left will whitewash those facts, just as they did with Clinton who's major economic impact was largely staying out of the way (and let's ignore his contribution to the dot.com collapse and housing bubble).

    And a Republican Congress for 75% of his Presidency. 2/3 of the legislative body was R; they definitely deserve 2/3 of the blame.

    It's downright terrifying. People wonder how Hitler rose to power and was able to do the awful things that he did under the German people. We are seeing the rise of a new dictatorship and people are falling over themselves to defend it.

    He is literally shutting down dissent and lying to the American people. He is also spending the majority of his first 5 days talking about how great he is while signing executive orders like a dictator. He has the house and senate, why does he need executive orders?

    Trump's pet, Conway, coined "alternative facts" to rationalize another of Trump's pets sad position. Fake news is an actual thing (there's even a thread dedicated to a specific bit of it on page 2 with CC's dumbass "Obama just banned the Pledge of Allegiance" one) that conservatives have twisted to mean anything they consider biased towards the left.

    The executive orders he is signing are basically reversals of the original orders issued by obama; of course you know that.
